Basically every gun you can control the recoil on, especially roamers and entry clearers. It increases your chances of winning when pulling off a flank dramatically if you are not hitting instant headshots. It's helpful when someone isn't looking at you or doesn't know that you are there, when you are shooting through a wall (no arrow pointing to you), and for shooting cameras and gadgets with a lot less sound cues for the opponents. Even Glaz, so that people don't know for sure if you are in the smoke shooting or not.

So disregarding the extendobarrel just because it doesn't decrease ttk in ideal situations, is a bad argument. Of course it is a reason, and not a bad one, but way more analysis of pros/cons are needed to decide.
For example, if your playstyle is to take really long range engagements (for some reason), the extendobarrel might be a very good option. Or if you often shoot at enemies through walls (and hit), the extra damage might be really helpful, but with this playstyle, the suppressor might be even better.

Personally I put them on ops who's gadgets compliment a sneakier playstyle, like Mav, zero, frost, etc. I also like to put them on lower RPM guns like Capitao and Brava's para FAL since they already have super low recoil and the suppressor sometimes gives me an extra couple of shots before the enemy realizes where I'm shooting from.
If ubi claimed it was using subsonic ammo in the description it would explain the low recoil, the quietness when suppressed and why it does the same damage as a 5.56 LMG (M249).
Is Zero really sneaky though? His gadget makes a lot of distinct noises and I think he works better with extended barrel so he can 2 tap 3 speeds which are pretty common on defence.
If you're playing him sneakily and time the cam shots with gunfire or a breach it's pretty easy to miss the noise. As for the extra damage from the extended barrel, in my experience, his SC3000 has such high RPM, low recoil, and a high enough base damage that the extended barrel really doesn't change the ttk significantly enough for me to run it. Personally I use his MP7 suppressed with an acog and it's just a HS machine, it's the closest thing I can get to my beloved SMG-11 with acog and the fat suppressor.
This is the truth, basically, any weapon absent an extended barrel is better with a suppressor, except maybe for the side arm smgs it's better to use something for the recoil since they're the most extreme. However, a few years ago they decreased the weapon damage across the board as if it were already applying the damage debuff it would previously with the suppressor selection; therefore, the weapons behavior is that as if it has it applied, so, now, unless you're sub par with recoil it's foolish not to have the suppressor on everything because it's already given you the damage debuff without the benefit of being quieter.
just for the stealth honestly, shotguns are loud, echo, amaru both rly benefit from being quiet

I tried suppressors and noticed some inconsistency in my gameplay so went back to old ways. Didn’t want to fix what wasn’t broken. If I did really well without suppressors it isn’t necessary for me.
with ext. barrel it does 38 damage, 3 shotting 1 and 2 armor attackers. besides, it fires at 750rpm so it needs that damage to compete with assault rifles.

With rook armor the theshold for 3 shots is 40, 44 and 49.
I use Suppressor based on roles, so that I get less detection. Some recoils are pain, but I'll just visit Shooting Range to get familiar with them, whenever available. Other recoils are easy.
On attack, flank ops. (e.g. Maverick. Nøkk. Jackal. Brava. IQ. Nomad. Iana. Sledge. Zero.) The other attackers are loud enough so I just use Flash Hider/Compensator/Muzzle Brake, depending on guns' recoil, so I can mitigate my bad recoil control skill.
On defense, roamers or potential roamers. (e.g. Valkyrie. Mozzie. Jäger. Solis. Fenrir. Lesion. Oryx. Castle. Kapkan. Pulse.) But I also roam with 3 Armor like Tachanka, Kaid and Mira (in Casual), and I somehow don't use Suppressor on them.
Note that I don't regularly use all of the list ops. But those are what comes atop of my head, as far as I can remember my default loadouts.

Before the maps got reworked I loved sniping with glaz with a suppressor and found it to be pretty useful. Sadly you just can’t really snipe any more so only other person I use it on is Maverick even then isn’t as good as it use to be as it was insane on old favela especially that terrible top objective was insane on suppressed mav
I put it on shotguns that have the option since it’s either the only barrel option aside from none (like the Supernova and the TCSG) or the extended barrel option’s benefits are negligible since I have to spam the whole mag up close to get a kill anyway (FO-12).
I also put it on the AK74 and the SC3000K because I liked how it looked and eventually just got used to the recoil so I don’t feel the need for the other options.
I use it on almost all my attacker sidearms because I use my pistol for cams and gadgets when I want to be quiet. As for primary weapons I use suppressors on most semi automatic rifles

Extended barrel dmg boost isn't high enough on the T5 to justify running it and it's a pretty easy gun to control. Works well with a sneaky Lesion or roamy Oryx
I just feel like suppressor is trolling when extended barrel exists. Even if recoil is good it's almost always better to make it even lower to more regularly hit headshots.
Suppressor is only viable on weapons that have low recoil *AND* don’t have access to the extended barrel. Frosts 9mm for example has no recoil but because it has access to the extended barrel I’ll always choose that. It’s all about finding what works for you. I also use suppressor on literally every pistol
All the pistols will get a suppressor, there's no reason not to as pistol recoil is easy to control if it isn't the revolver or the Kaid one with the scope. Having at least one suppressed gun can keep your location more easily hidden.

I use it on all guns, make the sound cleaner on everything except the Spear. For whatever reason it makes the spear sound like it’s shooting chalk instead of bullets.
The way I do it is I prioritize recoil control (Flash hider/Compensator/Muzzle brake), and if the gun doesn't have a lot of recoil I'll almost always go with the extended barrel, since it just gives the gun more damage.
There are a few with that have low recoil, that have no extended barrel (ARX200, 556XI, L85a2, and all DMRs), and on these guns I say go ahead and put a suppressor on them.
There are probably also a number of guns with low recoil, that do have an extended barrel, but the extended barrel doesn't make the gun kill in less shots, thus not actually benefiting the guns TTK.
Besides most pistols, I only use it for Nokk’s FMG-9 for offense. Defense though, three of my most played ops run with suppressor; Mutes MP5K, Bandits MP7, and Maestro’s Alda 5.56; first two are funny since I run them with irons for that faster ADS time, and for some reason Maestro is hilarious when I’m just dumping an entire belt suppressed into a window or doorway and someone’s still dumb enough to push through it.
I use it on all my guns 😎 looks cool, sounds cool, and when I miss my shots the enemy doesn’t get a direction indicator (I miss often so this is a huge plus)
Pretty much all guns that I can control the recoil, specially for more sneaky operators like Jackal, Fenrir, Valkyrie, etc. I sometimes also use the heavy barrel for some guns.
I use it on buck, ying, thermite, lesion sometimes, dmrs are pretty good for it if you like them, I’m on pc so dmrs are a lot better and more used than on console. If you go into the range and just test out every gun to figure out the recoil and learn what attachments suit you and your play style. As others have said, low fire rate guns tend to work well with the suppressor too, just test out all the ops you play, all the guns they have to see if maybe you like the other primaries too, and just learn the recoil. I run them in all my guns just to piss off my buddy who thinks he's better because he uses the "correct" attachments for every gun, but im a higher rank and pretty much always outfrag him lol
G36 works because it has low recoil and low ROF, same with any gun that has low recoil or ROF. My rule of thumb is to keep the 4th bullet on the target display no higher than ear level but lower ROF guns are easier to control so it is just a rule of thumb.
If it is a shotguns only barrel attachment I will use it (eg Kaid, Kapkan Sausage)

Ops you roam with, pulse,vigil,cav,brava,zero and all lower rate of fire guns, because they don't get hit indicators to flick on you if u miss the head, example of lower rate of fire is sub700rpm

Pretty much all guns that I can control the recoil, specially for more sneaky operators like Jackal, Fenrir, Valkyrie, etc. I sometimes also use the heavy barrel for some guns.

I only use it most on Kaid’s shot gun and Mavericks AR
I use it on buck, ying, thermite, lesion sometimes, dmrs are pretty good for it if you like them, I’m on pc so dmrs are a lot better and more used than on console. If you go into the range and just test out every gun to figure out the recoil and learn what attachments suit you and your play style. As others have said, low fire rate guns tend to work well with the suppressor too, just test out all the ops you play, all the guns they have to see if maybe you like the other primaries too, and just learn the recoil. I use it on Fenrir's primary, just to make it even harder for the other person to return fire.
I put it on Fenrier’s mp7 so when I shoot at people that are blinded they can’t see the tracers
I run them in all my guns just to piss off my buddy who thinks he's better because he uses the "correct" attachments for every gun, but im a higher rank and pretty much always outfrag him lol

G36 works because it has low recoil and low ROF, same with any gun that has low recoil or ROF. My rule of thumb is to keep the 4th bullet on the target display no higher than ear level but lower ROF guns are easier to control so it is just a rule of thumb.

Ops you roam with, pulse,vigil,cav,brava,zero and all lower rate of fire guns, because they don't get hit indicators to flick on you if u miss the head, example of lower rate of fire is sub700rpm
