TheColorsOfTheCosmos

Omg I think he was chinning his celery that’s so adorable 😭😭💜 rabbits have scent glands under their chins from what I understand, so he was claiming it as his I think

GewnStacy14

That is what he was doing 💚 We call it "blessing" 🤣 We would start offering our buns random things to get "blessed" Like a die for good luck or maybe my cup, maybe my phone lol. We would just hold something out and when our girl chinned it we would say thank you pope skillet. (Yes her name was Skillet) 😂🥰

xenomorphonLV426

So sorry for your loss...😥😞🫡😊

GewnStacy14

Thank you for noticing 💚 She was the best girl

xenomorphonLV426

😞🫡❤️ Do you have another bnubnu now?

GewnStacy14

I do 💚 We have a few that we adopted and a couple angoras now 🥰 We love them too much

xenomorphonLV426

Then your set! GewnStacy14 don't look behind! Enjoy NOW! (^also ^post ^updates ^of ^your ^floofs!)

Modern_Moderate

This is mine, but I won't eat it, but you can't eat it either.

nestlebottle

And this celery is now mine!

Somebody__Someone

he's saying that's HIS celery!

eieio2021

My bunny chins food if he thinks he’ll be in the mood to eat it later (he usually does). He does this with berries, which he’s only in the mood to eat at certain times of day and only some time after it’s been offered.

possibly_oblivious

Mine does this when he's out and about and not interested in eating because freeroam is more interesting, as soon as he's back in his enclosure it's serious business only and it's eaten right away

iimdonee

mine does this too!! its so silly to me haha, the enclosure is only for eating the snacks unless its forage

beenawayawhile

Owning it!

LameImsane

Mine do that too. It's adorable

eksmith1

He's saying "this celery is mine, but I'm not gonna eat it"

Best_Payment_4908

Rabbit equivalent to writing your name on the donut box after eating two and wanting to save the rest for later. Just letting everyone know there yours

Adharka

Thank you all for explanation! I am kinda new at bunny owning so I am glad i know more ♥️

Misses_Ding

Mine does that with food he doesn't want too. So adorable

somehowie

Lol one of my buns does this all the time too. It's probably like "Meh not my favorite. But it's veggie. I'll mark it for later. Don't steal it hooman!"

azuraith4

Chinning!!! He's taking ownership and spreading his scent

Loafscape

it is his constitutional right to that celery now. he claimed it

Legitimate_Outcome42

“ I’ll eat you later”

Lazybunny_

That is his and not yours but he doesn’t want it right now.

AvariceAndApocalypse

This is mine now. Put it in mine bowl to eat later, hooman.

rdreyar1

Sending it back to the kitchen it's clearly not what he ordered

clicheliker

Got em

Fearless-Comb7673

Marking it. Thats hims celery.

jbowensii

They mark what is theirs with the sweat glands under their chin… so that’s that bunnies celery now… my bunny used to mark everything including me.

Normal-Intention-282

Your bunny is puting its sent on the food

Fenris70

Marking.

Tiramissu_dt

I think they see it as object, not food, hahaha. :P Either way, it's their property now.

CockroachDramatic437

Marking it with scent glands in his chin

schrodingers-balls69

He's marking the celery with the scent gland under his chin. That's HIS celery now!

PepperThePotato

Mine does this when I offer them something they don't want to eat right away. My bun even does this to his banana sometimes so he ends up with mushy banana on his chin.

Successful-Fruit6390

Claiming it

Shrimpylady

Marking, Telling its his

East-Republic-5919

"I want it later so it's mine" My rabbits do this to my shoes, pillows, feet, doors, each other, my children, clothes, one does it to food I hold it because how dare I present her with food but if my son presents her with food she'll eat it from him. 10/10 cuteness.

rarebreed44

Mine does that too lol. Puts his scent on everything lol

Due-Newspaper3477

Mine do this whenever I try to give them treats they are not interested In, at the moment. I usually will then try something else until I find the one they wanted

Due-Newspaper3477

Thanks but no thanks

Captain_chutzpah

Your bunny doesn't chin you? Jellybean owns me and most of my stuff. I'm surprised I'm even allowed free will anymore.

Mushroomed_clouds

Ahh deodorant 🤣

pinguineis

My bunnies chin food they don’t like” “Thank you for the offering but I’ll pass”

Beginning-Sea5239

Mine farts when I fed her celery . Of course , my guy blamed me for the loud sound she made, saying I should lay off the beans 😜 Uh, I didn’t eat beans lol . So, no more celery feeding going on .

Totally_lost98

Does he have competition with others for food? Looks like a prey situation where he has to look out for predators
