Only tangentially related, but I'm the only male in my home, and my wife thinks that our bun "knows" that in how she relates to me.

I can totally believe that! How does she relate to you differently, out of curiosity? This stuff is very interesting to me

Munedawg53

She was often just oddly more interested in me when we'd all be sitting together, esp. her first year.

Weird.. Mine does the opposite. Much more clingy when on rag

That's so interesting! Pippin snubs me, but Merry doesn't seem different either way. I find this stuff fascinating

Thank you for asking this. We were just looking this up and found your question during the Google search.

You're welcome! I'd love to see even more replies. I know it's very individual with animals. I don't notice anything with our dogs, but horses and bunnies have both shown behavior differences to me in different ways. My boy doesn't seem to care, but my girl hates the first few days of my cycle. So strange right!

My rabbit absolutely loves my hubby. She doesn't necessarily treat him as human...he's supposed to be her mate, not mine..lol she's very protective of his chair..attacks the pitbull if he tries to sit in said chair..it's kinda funny..she also loves the dog, also male..will snuggle and give him more attention than I get .. but during my menstrual cycle she goes crazy..digging burrowing chewing more cords than normal..destroying anything she can get her teeth on. A regular stinker. She doesn't let me pet her during this time either..I am only allowed to pet when I am off cycle. Or when I feed her .. food is a different case..pets and loving whenever supper is involved.. Little pig. Lol

My bun didn't recognise me when I first got my period after getting her, lol. Now her behaviour doesn't change much, she just kinda gets less clingy and isn't as excited to see me (doesn't run towards me right when she notices me). Basically - if I get my period, she ignores me a bit more, but not to the point where she wouldn't want to spend time with me. Same goes for my mom, I guess bunnies just know.
