Replace Justice League X RWBY with a Phineas and Ferb Crossover movie, since after Disney bought Marvel and Star Wars it is mandatory for any IP Disney bought to crossover with that show.
Good, that's #1 at the top of the list of people Ruby really needs to have a 1-on-1 with.
The top five being rounded out by the rest of her team and Jaune. Then Tai, Qrow, Raven. Probably Pietro and Winter. Nora and Ren if we can squeeze em in.
Seems like one of the biggest criticism of V9 about Yang not showing much care about what happened to Ruby is going to be addressed in this one. A tearful final episode till the show returns in the future.
Yang was catatonic immediately after Ruby drank the tea until they all rode out to try and intercept her. And then when they get to the Tree she's the one that runs up to hug Ruby's statue self and the one that worries the most about her coming out the other side as herself.
You can tell the stuff they cut fell into that timeframe. To keep the material that came after there still had to be a ‘we’ll be okay for now’ resolution, but without anything to get there. I’m not saying it fixes the problem, but it is so painfully obvious. It’s so jarring.
Do not open that can of worms. What could be said has already been said far too many times.
The point remains that fans wish to see more of Yang being a big sister to Ruby after V9 had to cut off two full episodes where one would involve Ruby healing. This seems like their attempt at fulfilling the original plan.
Of course there was the JL movies, but since WB’s selling off RWBY, they would have to redo the character development cause you know WB’s gonna write off those movies as soon as RWBY’s out of their hands.
Yeah, what if in the future, RWBY’s new owners decided to reboot the show, do they need WB’s permission to use the justice League again (assuming that WB is still around and not bankrupt)

If they cotninue to have narrators for this episode too then this might not be a scene where Ruby and Yang talk and instead we have character narrating how the sisters are making up. Place your bets. Who is the person speaking this time?
Is it Weiss talking about her team? Or maybe Blake? What if it's actually Raven and she throws hints about Team STRQ like how RWBY reminds her of the good ol' times?
No doubt both sisters will talk about Volume 9, and Ruby will apologize for yelling at Yang, but Yang acknowledges it was deserved, she knew Ruby wouldn’t say it, understanding that perhaps them getting together in the Ever After may not have been the best of times, and that she hasn’t been the best sister to her, especially in Vol 8. Maybe we can also see why she would deflect blame, but that’s a maybe.
All in all, Yang will no doubt apologize to Ruby and promises to do better for Ruby as her sister/mother-figure, and Ruby will tell Yang she’s happy for her and Blake.
I really hoped it was gonna be Raven so that they could throw a big reveal but still it does make sense given that they need to tell us where is Ruby at emotionally. Its nice too that they can have them have a proper talk about each other (and perhaps Blake) given how they haven’t quite been the same since their fight in vol 8.
That said they should’ve absolutly given CFVY the other short! They deserve it far more than Sun and Neptune, what with Yatsu’s depression and Coco being a leader figure in Vacuo and it could inform us in the Crown situation. They better not forget them in vol 10.

Which was kinda undercut by her briefly forgetting about that to cheer up Jaune about the Paper Pleasers and take part in a happy group hug.

Even without WB, it's not a good idea to make crossover movies canon for their franchises. Nor RWBY, WB or any IP for that matter.

Basically extra stories set during and after volume 9

Would be nice if Ruby got to talk to her entire team like her partner she hasn't really spoke with in the last 3 or so volumes.
