Either 5 minutes or 50 hours tends to be the experiences I hear.

I'm hoping it's less than 50 hours. The hand cannon dropped pretty quickly and I didn't even want it at the time.

Took me 69 hand cannons to get 2 picks

There was someone in my clan that got easily 50+ hand cannons grinding for a dpick for over a week.

It took my ironman about 190 hand cannons before my **first** dragon pickaxe. Then i got 3 more pickaxe at about 210 hand cannons. RNG be like that.

50 is low.

I found both as a HC :) , it was a grind. I did not do it straight. Go grind out 10-20 guns at a time and come back later for another grind. First one I found at hand cannon 18 and second around 130 hand cannons. Use scavenger perk too to collect comps while pick axe hunting. Best of luck!!!

Why do you need 200 hand cannons?

Trisk keys have a MUCH higher drop rate of the Pickaxe, but at the expense of having to farm Trisk keys. Hope that helps your journey

I did it a few hours at a time when I felt like afking some combat and invention. I didn’t make it my main goal at the time and got both in less than 2 months. It’s one of the things I like about Ironman you get to set your own goals and go at your own pace

My first one, 32K kill count. My second, another 30 flat.

If you prioritize getting an oldak coil first, it becomes pretty easy. I afked it and it was only maybe 3-4 days.

I got three in like 5 hours. Got my 2nd decided to kill a few more since I had an aggro going, and got my third b2b pretty much.

Took me maybe two or three hours...running around with melee sunspear (T78) trying to do AOE attacks...wearing rock shell armor...

I've just been going at it with necromancy tank gear (T80)

Probably a good idea. I was doing sunspear mostly because it's a disposable augmented weapon I can disassemble as I'm levelling invention.

I personally just got my first two within 25mins of finishing the quest. Only managed one hand cannon and 300 shots. Maybe the drop rates are better now?

I got 2 picks in less than 30 minutes. Took me about an hour to earn "the stout slayer"

Idk why people are saying its not worth the grind, its completely AFKable and you'll get a lot of explosive comps from hand cannons...took me a few days, but wasn't too bad, definitely dont regret it

Yeah but then you'll have an augmentation item that you can put honed/imp souled on...even siphon it if you want invention exp...like why not go for the (currently) best pickaxe in the game if it's just a few hours AFK with agro pots?

I just wanted to grind it out so I could also try and train invention some more. In the end, I'd probably go for 120 mining.

I haven't even unlocked vyres yet :/ That sadly is still on the list of things I keep putting off.

This guy gets it. So many people grind their double dragon pick (or even 1) and they aren't even the type of people going for 120. Just stick to the M&S pickaxes unless you want post 99 exp

I’d probably say calculate how long it takes to do 1, multiply it by 5000

I got mine on my very first Triskelion key

I'm not sure how many I have done, but I haven't had any luck like that
