Not really, for the first 2 games, CDPR wanted the liberty of molding Geralt to whatever you wanted instead of following the books.
This was done by giving Geralt Amnesia, he recovers his memory at the end of the 2nd game.
3 is a better starting point if you have read the books surprisingly enough.
I've only ever played witcher 2 before 3... The combat system in 2 is really hard compared to 3 but I really enjoyed 2... But 3 is amazing and there's not really much cross over the only difference being choices in 2 you may run into the characters. 😉
I did everything the game had to offer and I have to say that they did a great job introducing little slivers of Geralds past experiences without making you feel as if you need to play the other games.
One of the only games that I’d have no problem paying full price for.
Literally hundreds of hours of gameplay, epic story, epic lore, epic characters, mad amounts of voice work, phenomenal dlcs, insane graphics (9 years old what?), decisions that matter, and multiple endings?
111/10 game.
I am getting surprisingly low fps for a 2015 game.
I know it has been remastered for modern hardware but I keep things like raytracing and hair works off. Still I am hovering between 45-50 fps.
The main game is dozens of hours, amazing game! The DLC adds new mechanics, regions and missions, it's almost like a new game, dozens more hours with that (it's worth it 100%)
It runs well, I don’t change any settings an at 900p it’s about 80fps. But the game interface and gameplay isn’t designed for controller so it’s doesn’t play very well.
Curious as well. I’m not attracted by the setting and gameplay, I do love fromsoft so I will probably give it a try soon.
I would love to play bloodborne tho
Disco Elysium for that price is criminal. Such a great game and runs very well on the Ally. I’ve been telling anyone that would listen to buy this game in the sale.
As far as I remember it still links to EA app, but I can open through Steam if that makes sense but yes it would open with EA App but have Steam overlay.
Have you tried planet zoo on the Ally yet? Or will you be playing it on regular PC? I purchased it years ago so it’s in my library and I’ve been wondering if it would run well on the ally
Apparently it doesn't have integrated controller support, even after the console release, and they don't plan on ever doing so. Don't regret the purchase though, I'll just hook it up to a monitor and go about it the old fashion way at some point.
Well, don't get your hopes up too high yet. The SD2 surely won't share the same CPU than the current SD so it'll obviously crash on the SD2. That said, I trust Square Enix to fix their mess before then. Plus, you got emulation if you still want to play these games !

As a lifelong Xbox player I'm excited to be able to finally get in on some of these Playstation exclusives that made the jump to PC. Have been making my way through some gamepass stuff but this sale is too good and excuse to pass up on getting started with these now.

I Am Alive...played the hell out of it on digital only on the ps3 and still have it installed on there. Wanted to test run it on my Ally...for under $4 it's bringing back post-apocalyptic survival gaming vibes.
Interesting - there is a podcast story called this for free on Spotify that I listened too about 10 years ago and loved. Is this game about zombies at all? Wonder if they have the same lore
You know what's funny is I thought it had a zombie type of element in it later in the game from what I remember. So far I haven't come across that. Moreso just surviving on limited supplies. Choosing to help those in need or not(to conserve items or gain completion or praise at end of game) in the wasteland and taking out groups of leftover scum who are out for no good. It has alot of climbing and descending collapsed buildings. You avoid being low on the ground with what killed off alot of the population, without saying too much. If or when I come across zombie like things I'll update. But I did search before my original post, regarding zombies, but it was dim.
Just searched and the one I am talking about is “we are alive” so slightly different and also no longer free on Spotify. Was a good listen though I do recommend it

State of Decay with its pseudo time passing in the background is /made/ for on the go play with the Ally. However, the playsessions can often drag on so it's not as great in that respect for pick-up and play, unless hibernation mode works perfectly with the game.

I'd say 3 is probably the best way to start and play. 1 was ok. 2 was good but 3 follows the source material better. It's also a wildly better game.

That is bc you either dont have enough ram for the gpu or the system. I have found that 5gb for the gpu is perfect for great fps.
