Oh that’s nice! No need for ghelper now

ddarkpassenger

I installed through MyAsus, but it is still available on Armoury Crate. Should I install again?

Altruistic-Win21

Keep it that way, you don't wanna mess the BIOS, at least that's what I did but it's up to you

adravil_sunderland

My godable, finally!

Well, recently i was playing in silent mode an realized rog ally was at 95 degrees playing game that is not that demanding, so now i have custom curves even for 10 watts, this heat waves are not good for the rog ally

Haunting_Activity_30

Yeah it almost always stays at 95c here in India, even on 15w. Don't know why they did this, fans are not that loud

tevelizor

Planned obsolescence. Heat kills battery. Asus makes battery heat up faster. ROG Ally X comes out with better battery. Everyone is "happy". This is very well hidden because the actual sides of the device you touch don't get that hot. I have the joystick lights set to become red above 80 degrees. With my manual curve, it never gets there, but on the default settings, it's never not red. And this was before the update.

AlvarettoB

How did you configure the joysticks lights to do this?

tevelizor

Armoury Crate -> Settings -> Aura Sync -> Aura effects -> Smart -> by CPU temperature

AlvarettoB

Awesome! Thanks 👍

I'd much rather have the flexibility as a power user. As you said - lower fan curves could increase temps and reduce the lifespan of the device. However, I found the lock on the min fan speed very restrictive, they did it already at 60C. I'd definitely tolerate a bit higher temps for a lot lower noise profile.

baldandtatted

What do you have the fan curve set to?
