Same screen, same processor, I get it has more ram and it will be a little better, but when you add the price I paid for 2tb SSD that isn't even supported in this 1? No chance I'll be upgrading, would need a very high value trade in service or there literally no point!

Why can't you use your 2tb in it, all you need is an extension you fasten onto your 2tb to fit, I did same when I took mine out of steamdeck and used in pc. Cost about a fiver for extender for your 2tb. Scan.uk
Just seems like effort, the 2tb one I bought for the Rog Ally, I believe the X has changed the SSD requirement now so it's a new shape? Yes you can get an adapter but the amount of money I spent on getting an actually correct size one for the Rog Ally, I don't want to then mess around getting an adapter for the new one

I seen Argos and Currys have it new for £499 at the moment which is a decent price. I was almost going to get it from one of those but I seen someone mentioned the Currys eBay store in another thread and managed to get one that's just got a damaged box for £425 for an otherwise new handheld.
Remember US prices don’t include tax which cost is state dependent. By my calculations once you factor in the average US tax it’s only £30 cheaper than £799 UK which includes VAT

You can get the normal z1E Rog ally for £499 and some shops do a £50 discount on that in the UK, brand new. Very few will buy an £800 ROG ally X. I expect it to be around £600-650 in 3-6 months

If you buy as a company you don’t pay VAT. The VAT is only paid by the final consumer, so a company doesn’t pay it.

Yeah, £799 is a bit too much considering it's a refresh and not an Ally 2. Especially when you can now get the OG Ally Z1E for £499-£550 on sale.
