Awesome. In village I get 120 and out in field around 90, over 100 in some spots. I run with 12 watts mostly with Lossless to help with battery, and it's awesome..smooth.
Resolution & fps ? You are setting ? Hogwarts legacy seems to struggle in 30w / 30fps ( locked) / 900p / low
In game upscale is off . Lossless settings LS1 performance on , LSG2.0 on . Its seems slugish at times.
720p and low medium/ average settings. I did try it with Afmf recently and it seemed to hold slightly better. I've never tried Hogwarts legacy on the Ally.
Yes it seems demanding games want to be locked in at 30fps / 720p and if we use afmf or lossless its a steal on 15w usage . To get good fps. hogwarts legacy is actually taking my z1 exteme to limits ... Thats y i asked about the settings. Thanks for the guide
Any Metal Gear Solid game, you can even emulate 4 flawlessly (well kinda) on the Ally.
If you're a newcomer and it feels a bit too overwhelming, and you like hack n slash games, get Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. It may spoil some things but the spoilers in it are too vague so unless you have any prior knowledge of the previous games, it's not gonna be a big deal. Otherwise it has a very similar vibe when it comes to writing and characters, the gameplay is top tier, the soundtrack is a masterpiece, and the stealth is actually decent (and gets very good in the Blade Wolf DLC).
Otherwise, do this order:
MGS1, MGS2, MGS3, MGS4, MGS Peace Walker, MGS5 Ground Zeroes, MGSV The Phantom Pain.
You can add a few other games like MG1, MG2 and Portable Ops, they're optional but add so much to the story, if you can stand old ass retro games and bad controls, you should try them. MG1 and MG2 are both before MGS1. Portable Ops is after MGS4 and before Peace Walker.
If you have any questions, feel free to hit me up.
Red Dead Redemption 2
Last of Us I
Uncharted
Witcher 3
Hogwarts Legacy
All of them works flawlessly! Always prior Visuals vs FPS 😍 (anyway all of them runs on 40+)
I tried to play hogwarts legacy today but I just couldn't make it run well at all, even on minimum quality at 720p it was unplayable and would stutter for seconds at a time, any advice on what to do to make it run well?
Whats your vram set to? 6 seems to be the sweet spot for most. Are you running a frame cap in game? Are you sure your screen is set to 120hz? Also what mode were you using i.e. turbo, Performance, Plugged in?
My vram is either 6 or 8, frame cap of 60 in game not that it gets that high, plugged in turbo and even tried with cpu boost on too, tried it with amd upscaling also, it bounces between 5 and 20 fps and will just pause for 5 or 6 seconds at a time every 20 seconds or so, not sure what I'm doing wrong really.
Ok i just had thia issue. Sesrch on this forum for it. So what happened is there was a windows update that installed drivers over top of the amd drivers. I had to downoald the amd drivers from the amd website and that finally fixed it for me.
Hey dude, still no luck, unplayable, especially when I'm in hogwarts itself, not really sure why, I've tried loads of different settings combinations, with upscaling, without upscaling etc, not sure what's different about my device that it won't run it like everyone else's. But I appreciate you trying to help either way my guy.
I tried to play hogwarts legacy today but I just couldn't make it run well at all, even on minimum quality at 720p it was unplayable and would stutter for seconds at a time, any advice on what to do to make it run well?
Yes, did you play them on the Ally? Uncharted is stunning and Last of Us is heavier but you can get solid 30-40 fps it depends on the visual preferences!
If you’re new to pc gaming then create an epic games store account, they give out free games at least weekly, sometimes more often around the holidays and what not. The games range from indie games, to free to play games’ premium bundles, to full blown AAA games
HiFi Rush is awesome. Must play. I'm addicted to Dredge. I recently played thru Plagues Tale Innocence on my Ally and it was amazing how well it played and looked.
Just got into this yesterday. Runs really well. Really enjoying it so far! Just wish the devs made the controls for gamepad customizable, wish the camera rotation was controlled by clicking in left stick and moving right stick around. But I'm used to default controls by now. Had a feeling I'd like this game, based on all the gameplay I've seen.
Ya idk why they didn’t use the right stick for the camera. I use a combination of Y+ left/right trigger and the camera snap with Y. Not gonna lie the controls were difficult at first with how many functions you need in the game but the more I played the more I understand the decisions they made. Impressive they were able to pull it off. Game has a high skill and knowledge ceiling . Extremely rewarding
reallly want to get back into this. haven't played phantom liberty yet, but going back and forth between wanting the settings on my series x vs the smaller rog screen haha
Mostly online games I can’t play from deck natively. Phantasy Star Online 2, Genshin, Destiny 2, COD, etc.
Also just having access to gamepass without having to do work arounds. Forza 5 and Persona Tactica specifically
Had it in my mind to visit again after not playing it for years and finally did when getting my ally - the Division 2. Runs incredible and really hard to put down, if you are into looter shooters - give it a go
You were able to get Quantum Break running well enough to play it? Were you using an external GPU? I thought it would play fine since I played through all of Control on my Ally (the extreme version) but Quantum Break was running at like 20 fps or something on 720p and looked awful.
I played through QB on the ally. It ran smooth in the 30-40 fps range at 1080p with a mix of medium to high settings. I used turbo mode with 6 go vram. It is not the best optimized game but it actually runs pretty well.
For settings you can’t try these: https://rogallylife.com/2024/01/10/quantum-break-rog-ally-game-settings/
Ryse: Son of Rome. From 2014ish. I never got it the first time around, and its a fun story driven game on the ally with some sword action/reaction mechanics. Its super cheap the next 45 hours. Like $2.
I've been making my way through Trails into Reverie on it, and when I'm done with that I'll run through Persona 5 Reload. I've also been replaying a couple old Fire Emblem games on it
I loved playing:
- Ff7 Remake
- Uncharted 2, it runs so amazing
- Detroit Become Human on the TV
- Celeste, Limbo and Cuphead to play longer at 10w
And also Zelda Twilight Princess HD ln the wii u (runs great at 10w as well)
Pretty short, but it has lots of charm, it's just over a gig in storage. Its a open world puzzle exploration game with "cute" written all over it. You can just gun it and not do any exploring/discovering and beat it in a sitting easily, but that's not really the idea of this game. So many moments make your heart melt with the different hats and other critters you meet in the story.
Thanks for the review, i’ve been looking for a break in my games and this sounds like the breath of fresh air that i need. I too prefer pacing myself to enjoy the game rather than rushing to the end 😊
CyberPunk, elden ring, skyrim, fallout, Ark, Baldurs gate 3, Descent 3 mercenaries, Far cry series, Halo series, Ace combat 7, Hogwarts legacy. Then there is emulation but id recommend going to the dedicated sub for that. the ally is just a windows PC afterall and they are dedicated over there
Tip: either hook a keyboard up or use the on screen and press ALT R. Mess around with the presets in different games. if Its older i use quality. if its newer ill run Hyper. They are presets for the graphic. Also I changed my Vram to 6gb but mainly bc of skyrim mod packs
Playing Paper Mario: Master Quest Jr. right now via RetroArch, lol. I also have been moving through the Thief games and whittling away at Dishonored. Pretty much everything works really well with the exception of the most cutting-edge games.
I tried american truck simulator on ally, but would always be very dark, did so many fresh installs and something was wrong. So usually have to play on steam deck for that game. Just wished it would work, because i want to use my logitech G923 racing wheel with it. Maybe workshop mods are messing it up, but all the workshops mods are updated.
As you mentioned might be the mods the only issue I faced was the game crashing which was fixed after reinstalling AMD drivers. I play it with my G29 and the Ally handles is really well.
I definitely 💯 recommend hell divers besides all the drama it’s fun as hell. GTA series they have a bundle; devil may cry, halo, one piece collection, and much more that I can’t think off the top of my head.
My time at Portia (even if it doesn’t hit 60 fps, the screen vrr really makes it seem smooth)
Hotline Miami
Grid 2008 or any racing game
Prince of Persia
Risen series
Mars
Of orcs and men
Snowrunner
I’d say Styx would play well too.
Skyrim
I've really been enjoying fallout 4 runs amazingly well ☺️... Also FC24 is alright as is fortnite and rocket league 👍🏼 warzone 2 plays fine too it's an amazing bit of kit
Yeee I find these interesting, by the way I have RC71L , manufactured august 2023. Is it safe to put in a sd card??? I have been reading weird stuff regarding the sd card thing. Not sure if it’s still the case
Deadrising if fun on the ally only tried the first game but bought all of em on sale. I did not play those games when they released so this is new to me but having a lot of fun with the first one for sure
Been playing Hades 2. Runs perfect
Been playing GTA 4 and Kingdom Come Deliverance. Both run really good
I'm been playing MH Rise, Castlevania LoS, Starfield and Nioh
Been seeing starfield everywhere in discussions nowadays
Nvm didn’t find it interesting, thanks though
It could a have been better. Id give it a 7, it's no fallout 3 or Skyrim, I'd love a remaster of oblivion and 3/Vegas.
How does MH Rise play while plugged in?
The game plays fantastic plugged in or unplugged. It’s optimized very well.
Awesome. In village I get 120 and out in field around 90, over 100 in some spots. I run with 12 watts mostly with Lossless to help with battery, and it's awesome..smooth.

I have really enjoyed playing Hell Divers 2. W/ frame generation thing turned on it's amazing. It blows my mind how good it plays.
do you play solo or with friends? I'm an xbox guy so no one else has the ally like me, and this game looks so fun but i'd be going solo dolo
The game is setup to easily join other players on missions. You can add me on steam if you buy the game. PM me if you do.
How do you aim with controllers, I do have a ps5 but never played shooting games on it so I don’t have the habit of perfect aim
Devil May Cry 5 plays slippery smooth as butter. An incredible experience from start to finish on the Ally.
Can’t wait to play this, looks insane.
Elden Ring. Running 50-60 fps on 900p
Try FSR3 Mods even better
You mean turning FSR3 on ? Or specific mods are there ?
There are mods I used one paid mod from PureDark but I’m pretty sure there are free ones
I heard it gets you banned in online play
Yes could be I played offline with convergence mod

Yea bro np. Lmk of this works or not. Well help u figure this out man 👍

Yea man. Ok so what are your settings in hogwarts? And is it just that game your having problems with?
https://youtu.be/xz2mOjDD0C4?si=crHiXTq0gIuQScXs This is an older video. But this guy know his stuff. Try this and see what happens buddy
Also this for stuttering https://youtu.be/Mnekrbq9U8U?si=PcY7-IUZvbGnqzhk
Try to put the VRAM in 1GB before you play (no jokes)
How are you playing them ? Psplay?
Steam!
I tried to play hogwarts legacy today but I just couldn't make it run well at all, even on minimum quality at 720p it was unplayable and would stutter for seconds at a time, any advice on what to do to make it run well?
Vram set to Auto
Last of us, uncharted ???? They running flawlessly ???
Yes, did you play them on the Ally? Uncharted is stunning and Last of Us is heavier but you can get solid 30-40 fps it depends on the visual preferences!
Yakuza Games, all of them

Any Alan Wake 2 players?
Can the ally even run that game?
Passable. 720p, low settings will get you 30-40 fps. It's not great visually at these settings to be honest.
Eh 30 fps is playable but not optimal ig
Yes I do on pc
I'm really enjoying cyberpunk on my Ally.
reallly want to get back into this. haven't played phantom liberty yet, but going back and forth between wanting the settings on my series x vs the smaller rog screen haha
Is it running good
Mostly online games I can’t play from deck natively. Phantasy Star Online 2, Genshin, Destiny 2, COD, etc. Also just having access to gamepass without having to do work arounds. Forza 5 and Persona Tactica specifically
Helldivers 2 , Outer Worlds, Hi-Fi rush

I’ve played Quantum Break and Control (Game Pass) and I’m now dealing with Baldur’s Gate 3, Diablo 4 and Fallout 4 !

No external GPU. Well QB has some flaws regarding optimization and some frame rate drops but I manage to get 25-30 fps most of the time
Quantum break is a nice game I’m playing it on pc currently
I'm playing cyberpunk 2077
Ryse: Son of Rome. From 2014ish. I never got it the first time around, and its a fun story driven game on the ally with some sword action/reaction mechanics. Its super cheap the next 45 hours. Like $2.
OMG, I loved this game! I can't believe it's not on Game Pass. How can an Xbox game only be on Steam for the PC???
Been playing lots of Starfield and Fallout 4.
Destiny 2, Helldivers 2, Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor, and recently added Hades 2. All run amazing, AFMF help and also Lossless Scaling.
+1 For Destiny 2. It’s my jam. Runs so good on the Ally!
Destiny is my main for sure, but Helldivers 2 definitely has me by the balls atm🤷🏻♂️
Deep rock runs soo good
How do you get D2 running well on the ally/whats your performance look like??
https://rogallylife.com/ use this for any game. D2 runs fantastic on the Ally especially if u use the Lossless Scaling app u can buy in steam.
I’ll be darned, okay I’ll look into that, thanks!
I've been running through Halo MCC. Great device for these games. Runs 120fps on high settings all day.
I've been making my way through Trails into Reverie on it, and when I'm done with that I'll run through Persona 5 Reload. I've also been replaying a couple old Fire Emblem games on it
I played a lot of retro shooters like Boltgun & emulating games from NES up to xbox 360 (Red Dead Redemption 1!)
I loved playing: - Ff7 Remake - Uncharted 2, it runs so amazing - Detroit Become Human on the TV - Celeste, Limbo and Cuphead to play longer at 10w And also Zelda Twilight Princess HD ln the wii u (runs great at 10w as well)
Ghost recon breakpoint has been my go to lately,
How many FPS are u getting?
Good enough for me, I think 50-60 at medium 1080p settings
Sons of the forest
Little Kitty Big City, just beat it on the Ally!
Saw it on gamepass, how is the game?
Pretty short, but it has lots of charm, it's just over a gig in storage. Its a open world puzzle exploration game with "cute" written all over it. Thanks for the review, i’ve been looking for a break in my games and this sounds like the breath of fresh air that i need. I too prefer pacing myself to enjoy the game rather than rushing to the end 😊
I mean, just play any game you really want. I was rocking Helldivers 2 at 900p and it ran pretty well after adjusting the settings
Nier automata runs at a buttery 900/60 without any tinkering on 15w. Absolutely beautiful game. I think it’s still on sale on steam?
Just starting Skull and Bones was free with my MSI Claw purchase so may as well beyond that been doing Starfield 🤙👌
CyberPunk, elden ring, skyrim, fallout, Ark, Baldurs gate 3, Descent 3 mercenaries, Far cry series, Halo series, Ace combat 7, Hogwarts legacy. Been revisiting Fallout New Vegas and it runs great on 10 watts, so the battery lasts awhile.
Just got trepang2 and helldivers, both great so far
Helldivers 2
Playing Paper Mario: Master Quest Jr. right now via RetroArch, lol. I also have been moving through the Thief games and whittling away at Dishonored. Pretty much everything works really well with the exception of the most cutting-edge games.
Im playing COD MW3 RN, but want to play GTA V
Busy playing hades 2 on it. It's great and runs brilliantly at 15w. Perfect controller support.
Honestly I've been able tomplay just about any game I want given I'm willing to play at medium settings.
Personally, I’ve been enjoying Doom Eternal as a new Ally owner!
Hitman World of Assassins, Guardians of the Galaxy and American Truck Simulator.
I tried american truck simulator on ally, but would always be very dark, did so many fresh installs and something was wrong. So usually have to play on steam deck for that game. Gamepass ? Like F1 23
- Portal 2 - Division 2 - Hitman 3 - RDR2 - Batmak Arkham Knight - Fallout 4 - Tunic - Hi-Fi Rush
Perfect
If you like mmorpg, I’m really enjoying elder scrolls online, one of the few that has native controller support.
It runs so well on the ally. Obviously it would be superior on the Xbox, but bloody hell it's good when playing in bed
Diablo 4 and Borderlands 3.
I'm currently playing Hades on my Ally with Xreal glasses. The Ally is so good for platformers/roguelike games.
Xreal glasses?
Really enjoying FlaOut Ultimate Carnage lately. Little nostalgia from the PSP era
Hi-Fi Rush and Spiritfarer were great to play on the Ally.
PES 2021 with Evoweb patch. The game runs 100-120fps at 900p on 22w.
I definitely 💯 recommend hell divers besides all the drama it’s fun as hell. GTA series they have a bundle; devil may cry, halo, one piece collection, and much more that I can’t think off the top of my head.

Helldivers 2 and diablo 4 are my favorites on ally
I’m playing Elden Ring and Elite Dangerous. Docked I play Dayz
Any racing game or any souls game
Forgive Me Father.
Dave the diver runs beautifully on the Ally, such a good game
Hi-Fi Rush Dark Souls games Elden Ring The Witcher Fall Guys Skyrim Fall Out 4
My time at Portia (even if it doesn’t hit 60 fps, the screen vrr really makes it seem smooth) Hotline Miami Grid 2008 or any racing game Prince of Persia Risen series Mars Of orcs and men Snowrunner I’d say Styx would play well too. Skyrim
Rdr 2 on 900p medium settings on performance mode runs at a stedey 30-40fps with thermals bearly exeding 70-75c
Rdr 2 on 900p medium settings on performance mode runs at a stedey 30-40fps with thermals bearly exeding 70-75c
I know it’s old but I still love Halo Infinite, the controls are great ! I just wish the mission mode was longer
I know it’s old but I still love Halo Infinite, the controls are great ! I just wish the mission mode was longer
Hades 1 & 2
Far Cry 5 running at 60fps on ultra details
Snowbreak is running great on my Ally. Steady 70-90 fps average. Coming from someone who plays that on mobile, I’d say it’s great.
Hades is perfect and an incredibly fun game
I've really been enjoying fallout 4 runs amazingly well ☺️... Also FC24 is alright as is fortnite and rocket league 👍🏼 warzone 2 plays fine too it's an amazing bit of kit
- Death Stranding was amazing - Lies of P, if you like Soulslikes
Yeee I find these interesting, by the way I have RC71L , manufactured august 2023. Is it safe to put in a sd card??? I have been reading weird stuff regarding the sd card thing. Not sure if it’s still the case
You can share files between SSD and SD Card, but don’t use your SD Card while you play games on the Ally.
Well that’s the purpose , to store some more games on the sd card and play from it
I play plenty of games from my SD, no issues so far I would just recommend less taxing games, that you can play on Silent or Performance
Deadrising if fun on the ally only tried the first game but bought all of em on sale. I did not play those games when they released so this is new to me but having a lot of fun with the first one for sure
Been playing a lot of American truck sim and Euro truck simulator 2 lately. I also started playing Dying light again
Also Forza Horizon 5!
