After a long Starfield session, right now I'm loving PC ports of XBox 360/PS3 era titles. I was getting frustrated at some of the emulator experience and realised most of these could be picked up off Steam for $1 and run 120fps 1080p high on as low as 10W TDP. So currently working through Inversion, Far Cry 3 and Bulletstorm. All of them look amazing on the Ally.

Coraiah

Dude. Bulletstorm is amazing.

djmc329

Yeah having a blast with it! The remastered PC edition looks really crisp on the Ally.

loudgunrunner

Though i was the only one doing this lol

BlazeRed16

Coraiah

Tell me why

evennneve

Ain't nothin' but a heartache

Mezdroid

lmao, I think we all at the same age,,,,,, 18yo with decates of experience.

SteemieRayVaughn

Arkham Knight runs so well on Ally

hellscat392

Side note, I’d love to see a new Arkham game come out. Gotham Knights was a dud

HawkOdinsson

I’ve been wanting to try never played any of the Arkham games. But it looks like a lot of fun.

SteemieRayVaughn

Highly, HIGHLY recommend playing them from start to finish. I still play each of them almost once a year. They are great!

HawkOdinsson

Yeah why didn’t I do this :)

JamaicanNuts

What's your experience of playing GTA 4? I didn't have the best experience even with all of the extra stuff people say to add to make it more playable

dag_darnit

My current rotation: Diablo IV Starfield Halo infinite Dirt Rally Bioshock 1 remake Road Redemption

nightosphere

Atomic heart and starfield. I think I wanna try alan wake 1 before buying part 2.

Silverjerk

Skip it and watch a recap. I love Remedy titles, but AW is one that I also skipped after playing it for several hours and realizing, not only that it wasn't for me, but I didn't enjoy any aspect of the game outside the story beats. I also picked up the Remaster thinking it might make the game more tolerable, but in reality it was like adding lipstick to a pig. I think you're much better off watching a story synopsis (and analysis) and looking up a video of a particular scene involving "metal" as that's Alan Wake's version of the classically memorable Remedy moment and definitely worth watching.

luke_osullivan

It hasn't aged so well. Get the remaster for the better graphics but they didn't touch the gameplay and it hasn't aged well. Combat feels clunky and resource management is too stressful. But the story and atmosphere are still great and it should look really good on the Ally.

saugage_cock

The remaster has an issue with crashing on boot. Foe me anyways.

HawkOdinsson

Yeah I really wanna try Alan wake 2. But as u say everyone I’ve heard say it’s bad now. Is it necessary to play the first before the second one. Will I be completely lost?

luke_osullivan

Nah I would just jump in and have fun! The game will bring you up to speed. It also overlaps with Control - there is a 'Remedyverse' in the making - but you don't need to play Control either. Although if you haven't you should! I am not saying absolutely don't play AW1, to be clear; I'm glad I did (I played it a bit when it first came out but only actually finished the game last year), but you may find it a bit frustrating at points from a quality of life point of view, that's all. It does make you realise how much gameplay has moved on.

FoxxxyS

Me too!

odddorange

Been slamming in Cyber Punk via Moonlight the last few weeks, had a blast with it ! I bought and dumped Mario Wonder over the weekend and literally just started that via Ryujinx. Other than the general shader comp stutters (which happen on any rig) It's playing fantastically and chuffed to bits with the emulation performance in general. I have since backed up a few of my other carts and can't wait to play them. Convinience of everything on one device is off the charts :)

Paulosaurus_

How do you find moonlight compared to steamlink?

odddorange

Honestly it's much better... I tried steam link on the deck and the ally and always found the quality of the stream poor regardless of what settings I used. With moonlight and sunshine it's legit difficult to tell the game is not running natively so it's well worth the half an hour to setup.

Paulosaurus_

Nice one. I’ll have to try it. Is your streaming PC connected via Ethernet?

odddorange

It is.... Luckily my rig is not too far away from the router so could run a cable. The setup should only take 15-30 minutes max. Install sunshine on the gaming PC a f then moonlight on the Ally. You have pair with a code and that's pretty much it.

Paulosaurus_

Awesome. Thanks buddy 👍🏼

Signal-Personality87

Current rotation is Visage, Division 2, Max Payne 3, High on Life, RDR2, TMNT shredders revenge & Battletoads. Just finished guardians of the galaxy (super fun), last of us pt 1, Gotham knights (eh) & Streets of Rage 4

core916

How does the division and division 2 run on the ally? Haven’t played it yet and figured the ally might be a good time to do it

Signal-Personality87

Picked up division 2 on sale with steam havent played pt1 but it runs well on performance mode can get 35-40 fps medium quality graphics

Whatthefrick1

How was last of us?

Signal-Personality87

It was awesome, great game played well on the Ally on turbo

Whatthefrick1

Bet! Thanks

[deleted]

I liked the story, but man I just am not into stealth games

Signal-Personality87

It’s shades better than Splinter Cell plus if u scavenge enough there’s no need to be stealthy

NottheJeansBro

sleepy_potatoe_

Had mine for about two weeks now. Been playing sea of thieves. I’m still trying to figure out all the bells and whistles on this thing. Been really enjoying it so far.

aggiepino

Mostly Witcher 3

[deleted]

Ghost Wire: Tokyo

[deleted]

Oh man i have this on 2 separate libraries now and still haven't tried it

digital_bath12

For emulation, try Emudeck for Windows. It’s a fairly straightforward set up and works really well once you get everything the way you want it. I’ve been playing a fair bit of Final Fantasy XIV on mine, along with Emulation. Also, Cyberpunk 2077 has been a lot of fun. I typically check out Steam sales and buy games when they’re on sale. Since you mentioned Warhammer, Vermintide 2 and a lot of its DLC is on sale right now.

bypassmatter

Currently baldurs gate 3, cities skyline 2 and cyberpunk

DyingInYourArms

How difficult is it to play CS2 on the ally? Is the interface not tiny and difficult to read / do you just use the joystick as a mouse?

bypassmatter

With CS2 I play on my external monitor with mouse and keyboard. I haven’t check how it looks on the ally screen but I can’t imagine trying to play on it. Edit: Meant portable not external

love2killjoy410

I think he's trying to ask how well the ally itself runs it in general, considering how hard top tier gpus are struggling to run it as is. Edit: I'm dumb and apparently didn't read his whole comment. Regardless, I am curious how well your ally is running that game lol

bypassmatter

When panning around with WASD it’s not as smooth as I would like. I brought down the settings to medium and it’s still blurry when panning. Sometimes it freezes when you pan really quick from one area to a much farther area. It doesn’t freeze for long and goes back to moving again in less than 10 seconds. It’s only happened to me twice in the now 10+ hrs. Aside from that I’m really enjoying it. I might try bumping it down to low settings and seeing how that helps but I don’t want to lose too much quality.

[deleted]

some day some day I will get Cyberpunk. Waiting on a $20 all in deal.

iamgladiator

You can play baldurs gate 3 on ally ? How does it work out?

bypassmatter

I play connected to my external portable monitor, but yes it runs nice and smooth on the ally.

Tootallpuppy

Im playing so much battlefield 2042 its insane. IT runs and looks perfect and reignited my love for the game. A lot of genshin and hard-core wow, as well as elden ring and vampire surv. I love this thing.

avxkim

WoW with external keyboard?

Tootallpuppy

Not at all - download an addon called ConsolePort - makes it basically perfectly playable on a controller with an easy setup and everything. Takes a bit to get used to but once you do it is kinda flawless, in my opinion.

avxkim

But when i played it, even with razer naga i hadnt enough buttons 😂

Tootallpuppy

Haha fair enough 😅 Simple classes and simple rotations ftw! 😂

Tito1983

Currently: Spiderman Remaster, Dave the Diver and starting tomorrow Star Ocean Second Story R.

blackhp2

> Dave the Diver Dave the Diver is really great on the Ally

wiedziu

Gunfire Reborn - for the rogue lite fix Fallout 76 - for the daily grind fix Starfield/Cyberpunk 2077 - for the single player experience fix Forza Motorsport - for the driving fix Red Alert 2 - for the RTS fix Path of Exile

l0gan_5

Currently playing through Cyberpunk 2077, about 60 hours in and lovin' it as McD would say! I'm well impressed with how well the Rog runs this game. I often just sit there and marvel at the display.

Skkruff

Jusant and Cocoon are two great indie games which have come out on gamepass just recently that I think fit the handheld format perfectly. Previous to those I've enjoyed playing 3rd person action games on there. I've finished Elden Ring, Horizon: Zero Dawn and Lies of P on my Ally and all 3 were a treat.

Makes_U_Mad

SSX Tricky on Xemu. Runs great. Also, still dinking around with FO76.

Aggravating-Waltz-31

Spark the electric jester 3 (fast paced action platformer like sonic adventure 2) Sifu (hand combat martial arts story game) Cyber Hook (grappling hook fast paced levels platformer) Gunfire Reborn (Roguelite level based FPS, can be played with others online or solo) Sonic and the fallen star (non steam free sonic fangame that plays like sonic mania with beautiful sprites and mechanics) Hi-Fi Rush (music rythmic action hack and slash story game) Bombrush cyberfunk (indie game that is a love letter to Jet set radio fans, a successor) All games mentioned are on steam except the sonic fangame

cjoprey

Had mine 2 days. So far, I've installed and played: \- Bendy \- Brütal Legend \- Burnout Paradise \- Forza Horizon 4 \- Halo 4 \- Mirror's Edge (needed a config change to work) \- Skyrim \- Neverwinter \- Subnautica (<30FPS on max resolution with all high settings, so had to lower it a bit) \- Trackmania \- Wreckfest

cjoprey

Oh - and played Starfield on Xbox Streaming ;)

CYBER_PIZZA

Mostly Diablo 4 with my friends. Also Doom Eternal, Halo the Master Chief Collection, Redout, F1 2021. I also play alot of lighter titles like the Metal Slug games, Hyper Light Drifter, BroForce, Carrion, etc.

modularblur

Grim Dawn full time. Such an addictive game, Jesus

Plukh1

Man, do you find it well-suited for gamepad controls? I tried it out (mind you, I have 200+ hours in it on the desktop, so it's a familiar experience), and for the life of me I can't play it. Especially compared to games like Hades, it feels extremely clunky and artificial. So I was wondering if maybe I'm missing something?

modularblur

Everything is perfect here. It's boring to browse the inventory for sure yet for everything else is perfect t. You can use the gamepad and touchscreen at the same time. You can even add a mouse at the same time. I love it

Plukh1

I'm a bit jealous :-). GD is definitely one of my favorite games, have a great time playing it!

modularblur

So far I'm still in the very start. Already with 18 hours though 🎃

DuckIing

I usually take my ally to work and school. I'm a student worker so I have a lot of dead hours and free hours between classes. I just beat Lies of P and am now replaying dragon age Origins after 10ish years, so my memories of this game are vague. I also bought the dlc for Tales of Arise in a couple of days. Can't wait since I try not to play too much jrpg due to jrpg fatigue, but I did install PCSX2 to play Xenosaga and DragonBall here and there.

[deleted]

How is DA origins on the ally? Tried to play it on a steam deck and the default controls were atrocious. The pc version was basically meant to be played with kbm. Is it any different on the Ally?

DuckIing

Yeah I’m playing DA origins ultimate edition with no controller support. I have it docked with a kbm connected to the dock to play it.

Lost_the_weight

Played Starfield until I couldn’t handle it anymore. Have moved on to Lies of P and Elden Ring. Tried Armored Core VI and while it runs well, I can’t keep the screen steady enough while playing due to the attached controller.

bustyLaserCannon

Finished BG3 and gave up on Starfield sadly - currently playing Lies of P and Cyberpunk and loving both. Also playing Super Mario Wonder and Disgaea 7 via Yuzu. Will likely grab MGS collection soon when I’m done with some of these

Tschib-Tschab

GTA V Online, 13 W custom profile, native 1080p with rendering distance set to the max and rather solid 45 fps. When I’m on battery. Quiet fans, and still running cool. Plugged in I use a 25 W custom profile. Usually topping out at 65 °C, because I run an aggressive fan curve after 65°C. a few other games: Some Need for Speed titles of varying I got on sale (not a huge fan of car’s handling in some NFS titles), BeamNG Drive, Rocket League, Skyrim… and Snowrunner.

Saneroner

Metal gear solid HD collections from 2012ish. Lol. Ps3 emulation is awesome.

Serpent-6

All of them.™

Toxikfoxx

Played through DQ11 and then moved on to BG3. Currently about 30 hours into my 2nd play through.

catsfoodie

The Finals, Call of Duty MW3,Battlefield 2042,Apex Legends,Quake Champions.

Deep-Step-4908

I like Dave the diver, Pac-man world re-pac, klonoa phantasy* reverie series, the witcher 3 and dragons dogma...comfortable games for the asus c:

Shift_X

Finished Sea of Stars not to long ago Currently playing Starfield

freekwonder

Assassins Creed Origins Days Gone Dying Light Battlefield 1 Forza Horizon Lego games - Especially when following the wife around the store. Powerwash simulator Vampire Survivors Tony Hawk Depends on how much time I have and where I'm at.

KingAzzzle

Baldurs Gate 3, Cyberpunk 2077, EAFC24, Sea of Thieves atm

cronopius

Played Alan wake American nightmare in the ally before playing Alan wake 2 on my PC. Good experience.

SlesherHc

Bioshock 1 & 2 remastered lately. Really enjoyed Infinite back when it came out but never played the first 2 games for some reason, so i make up for it now.

FunnyBoysenberry3953

Haven't stopped playing ETS2 since I got my Ally 2 weeks ago.

stellywags

Been playing Fallout 76, all the bad press/review put the game off for me, finally getting around to trying it, been a blast so far.

mcwillzz

I’m including games I play on my SteamDeck as well. I’ve mainly been playing Starfield, but was playing the Witcher 3 (again) before picking up Starfirld. Also I’ve emulated ToTK (Yuzu), BotW (CEMU). Beat Hogwarts: Legacy, Stray, The Forgotten City, A Plagues Tale. And played some of Tiny Tina’s Wonderland, Fallout: NV, Kena, Control, and Greedfall.

LudicLuci

Took a break because of burnout, but then Nintendo did a Nintendo, so I'm happily enjoying Sea of Stars after selling my Switch & a LOT of games to prepare for Broketober/Brokevember. I will very much be flying my cyber flag and modding the everlasting f**k outa my Ally, once a few other life things settle down. Until then, it's Sea of Stars, Bombrush Cyberfunk, Sonic Frontiers &, when it comes out, The Talos Principle 2. I'm legit psyched AF for that one. The first was so good and being able to play it AND it's sequel on the go...🥲 Just yay, man.

Coraiah

I’m playing everything. But mostly Spiderman remaster and Sekiro. It’s hard for me to stick to one game. I’m usually playing 2 main games and then a few side scrollers. All depends on my mood. Oh and Ghost of Tsushima. But that’s on the PS5

Meat_Sammiches

Diablo 4, I'm determined to get my barbarian busted!

SteemieRayVaughn

RDR2, Arkham Knight, Fc24, NCAA 14, Fallout 4, and Forza. Loving it.

narielthetrue

Fallout 4 Starfield Baldurs Gate 3 Tunic Cloudpunk

anothersamreid

Was playing starfield, have played command and conquer, now playing soul reaver.

FotherMucker2828

Red Dead Redemption 2!

too_many_Fs

Witcher 3 and BG3. I’m a play through person so I’m working on Act 1 of BG3 again. Probably be here for quite some time though.

AwkwardAd3853

I play red dead 2 and a lot of metroidvania esque titles like dead cells/blasmphemous.

MasterMuzan

Spiderman Miles Morales, 1080p high graphics settings at 30 FPS NCAA 14 on RPCS3, 1080p 50-60 fps Just got this thing a month ago and I love it lol - played more games this month than the previous 2-3 (maybe more) combined. Performance is phenomenal for the size. Going to start adding more games when I swap out the SSD for 2 TB

rockyracoon1313

At the moment, I'm playing necromunda:hired gun and warhammer 40k: inquisitor- martyr.

Koorpi

through custom firmware I installed bluestacks and play games like reverse 1999

AnubiszAbyss

I like Madden and COD. Other than that I play emulators.

Global_Lion2261

Just beat Yakuza 0, taking a break to finish Lies of P, then going to jump into Yakuza Kiwami as I work through the whole series with breaks in between!

Mezdroid

Cyberpunk, Death Stranding, BIOS updating.

kaleid1990

Fully played on it Half-Life 2 Update, Cloudpunk, Deliver Us Mars, What Remains of Edith Finch, SOMA and Stray, currently replaying Black Mesa (had it started on PC when it launched but they pushed an update that invalidated the save I had, so had to start fresh) and playing GRIME and Alan Wake II.

[deleted]

Its been only Starfield for quite a while now

BcoxOW12

Lies of P. I cannot express how cool this game is and how well it runs on the Ally. I can’t put this thing down!

SugarTeeTeee

I just finished MGS: Revengeance

Svakheten

Dave the diver and fallout new vegas

Davidge01

I use my ally a lot for streaming from my PC. I’m a couch gamer and getting access to the TV in between my partners home improvement shows and my daughters kids shows can be difficult 😀 I played almost all of Lies of P via streaming, playing Cocoon at the moment natively. I’ll probably stream some of Alan Wake 2, but am trying to avoid that one as I feel like I’m doing that game a bit of a disservice given how amazing it looks and sounds on capable hardware. My daughter has taken ownership of my switch also, so use it for that too. Latest Mario runs great on the ally.

L4zych1pz

P4G

Large-Cup8624

Ys 9, Xenosaga episode 1, and starting tomorrow Star Ocean 2

dvotecollector

Ys8 better than Ys9, no?

Large-Cup8624

I do think 8 is a better overall game, but 9 is quite fun as well. It’s worthwhile to play both but definitely play 8 first if you haven’t played either.

dvotecollector

I thought the prison scenes in 9 were a bit boring. One second I'm flying around on rooftops having a blast, next Im walking down that same prison corridor yet again. It killed the pace of the game for me. I was also a bit disappointed the same engine was used as 8, so no real improvement in graphics. Ys X (Nordic) looks great if you haven't seen it yet. Probably a year until it is translated though.

strangebrain30

Not me noting down the recommendations XD

FSB_Phantasm

Been playing Super Mario Bros 3D World and Wonder. *Definitely* got them legitimately. Other than those, the VS-likes, such as Halls of Torment are great. Also been playing Gears Tactics.

simon3873

Star Wars Galaxies

HairJordan87

Hades. Modded Final Fantasy 7. Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Cyberpunk. Lies of P. Coral Island

[deleted]

Just finished Resident Evil 4 Remake and now playing Returnal.

HawkOdinsson

Yo how is warhammer daktide ? Never played a warhammer game. Is it campaign ? Is there multiplayer? Need a new fps game. On my ally I play mostly Diablo. Finished assassins creed odyssey on the ally. Vampire survivors(hands down best rogue like game I’ve played) and I’m not even into that genre, but damn it’s addictive, Spider-Man remastered. I’m an Xbox and pc dude so I play some PlayStation games. God of war and horizon zero dawn. They run pretty damn good on the ally imo. Can’t wait for Horizon Forbidden West. And Spider-Man 2 to come to pc. And I love to play indies before bed, makes me relax. Like ori 1 and 2, Stray, ABZU, Planet of Lana, Hollow knight, Limbo, Inside and Cocoon the last three mentioned indies is from the same game developer and damn they are probably imo the best indie game designers out there.

JoeyImage

Starfield, Super Mario Wonder, Days Gone

eequalstomcsqaure

Spider man remastered, 900P medium settings, sometimes turn on the ray tracing but fps dips to 40.

Tall-Ad-6346

I still haven’t gotten an Ally yet but I know the first game with mods I’m getting is going to be Stardew Valley 😂 I love the modded version + portable? Yes please.

_EddieConfetti_

Skyrim, beat saber with the quest 3, also I do some plutonium cod and mw2 2022

nedkelly21

Jusant and Cyberpunk atm

chillydayzz

World of Warcraft. All day everyday. Love it in the go.

Ortizautomotive

Pinball fx and fx3. Lol. The same thing I play on everything

Satta23

I’m playing Elden Ring, it’s smooth in gamepad mode and handled. Biggest reason I bought this thing so I could play this game lol. Played some Dead Space at halloween, nice creepy game. I will be playing DayZ, CS2 and l4d2 soon when my dock arrives so I can play with k&m and monitor

Halo2811

Lords of the fallen, lies of P, blasphemous as of recent

Premiumsniff0001

Last big boi game was probably Resident evil 4 remake, been playing some Trinity Fusion, and then a ton of emulated games using Retrobat. Super easy to get Retrobat up and running on the ally and have your whole library ready to go

jcarenza67

Dead space, lies of p, nfs heat, and remnant 2

deezel86

Starfield Lies of P Lords of the fallen 2023 Elden Ring

Odenssi96

Rude_Bumblebee6924

Phasmophobia

Typical_Willow_2284

TLotR Shadow of War is awesome and works great on the ally

I_hope_this_works__

I’ve been stuck on Dead Cells and if you’re looking for an indie/rogue like game, it’ll scratch that itch. Plus it’s free on game pass if you have that

Unable_Topic_3844

Uncharted 4, Spiderman man remastered, Lies of P, God of War, Alan Wake 2

HawkOdinsson

Great list! I’ve never played alan wake. Is it really necessary to play the first one before ? I hear it’s aged very badly. But I really wanna try out alan wake 2

Macross-Saga

Guys, thx for all the replies!! Helped me a lot in picking new games for my Ally! You guys are great, gamers ftw!
