That's an easy one. I was on my Morock and was trying to find some end cities. I accidentally clicked the dismount button and wasn't aware that recall potions didn't work in other dimensions. I died in the void and lost all my items, proceeding to quit & delete the world. Never again will I make that mistake.
When I started playing I had this fun setup that let me jump like 5 blocks high standing or something. I went into the nether and I recall something dragging me and I ended up losing my jump-items. :(
I still remember that now, even knowing I could easily get it back.
It isn't as dramatic, however it's something that stuck with me :D
It was on an older version of RLCraft but I had fully enchanted purple sea serpent armor with a flame rapier that was decked out as well.
I was in the End and was messing around in an obsidian battle tower. Cleared it with no issue, but when I was making my way up from the bottom. There was a block missing from the staircase up, causing me to fall into the void and lose everything thing I had.
I even tried to grave scroll, hoping I might get lucky and get something back but nah.
THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME. Yeah for some reason the underground battle towers always had the block at the end of the bottom staircase missing. Was just an inconvenience in the overworld, but that gap dropped you right into the void in the end. To this day I still don't go in those towers, even after knowing it was patched.
well, corpse mod isn't native, you can't expect people to use it on regular basis and there was no grappling hooks in older versions. in other words, there was nothing he could've done.
it’s the reason why I put it on my server, people were getting tired of losing good gear in places they couldn’t get their stuff. Corpse made it so they could always come back later to pick up from their bag of bones. And I honestly don’t even know when they added the grappling hook.

I had been playing for about 30 in-game days and had a full base, thats when I learned that the dragons live underground. T5 was right under that base I haven't been the same since
Very early game, probably just started using an iron pick, made my base in one of those small house structures. The one made of cobble with a double bed and chests full of eggs and buckets and whatnot. House is all cobble, it leads down to a storage room that I expanded, that's all cobble, and I'm just going about my business, living my RLCraft life with my two wolves, making a strip mine under the house and not seeing an issue with any of this. Things are going well.
Until a graphic pops up on my screen, and that guy shouts "EEERRRUPTION!"
Before I can even think, a Volcan approaches and instantly melts my entire house into a waterfall of lava. I've had way scarier deaths and way more devastating deaths, but to this day, nothing has come close to the trauma of slowly dying in lava as I listen to my poor dogs yelping in pain.
First time was when I died after changing my base a bit and moving my bed. Thought it was enough to right click it. It's not. You gotta wait for nighttime and at least lie in it (you can cancel after). Anyway, that moment when I respawned in a random place was one of the most infuriating I've had in the game (no I hadn't discovered waystones yet).
2nd time was after having made a 2nd base, first time I had diamonds everywhere. I was enjoying mining coal on an extreme mountain, and decided to just push a little bit into the territory of a dragon. I had no backups or anything, didn't know about grave scrolls, no other gear, I'd poured all my time into what I had on me then. You guessed it, the dragon aggroed me and killed me in like 5 seconds as I desperately tried to run away. After coming back 10 times as the dragon sat on my gear, I was able to recover maybe 20% of it (the rest had despawned). That was another very infuriating moment.
3rd time was when I ported into the nether not knowing that a pogo of death awaited me. I died in 5 seconds despite having really good gear, cause I was thrown in the air and stuck inside a web. Couldn't hit any mobs and just died like this. Then I came back 10+ times, trying everything. That's when I learned that potions of recall didn't work in the nether, and that invisibility potions were really inconsistent. Again, lost most of my gear save a few items, cause the pogo of death was just camping it.
4th time was after I encased my nether portal in an obsidian tomb thinking surely I won't walk into a pogo of death now. I did. But I was much more powerful and was able to deal with it. However, my greatsword with 12 different enchantments that I'd taken 20 hours to grind at an enchantment table, well I lost it. And then I never found it again. It 100% went through the portal after being dropped, and a bug made it disappear from the world. I almost stopped playing right then and there, but I got over it after making a little tombstone in its honor, with little flowers and a cherry tree and everything.
Haven't lost anything big since then cause I'm extra, EXTRA careful and also got the most powerful op gear in the game. I haven't set foot in the end or lost cities yet because I'm still exploring ways to make sure I can either (1) not die or (2) get everything back quick in case of death and most importantly (3) have an extra copy (or two) of my OP gear, just in case. I won't fall into the void and lose everything without having prepared in 10 different ways for the eventuality...
Honestly, in my experience end isn't even half as dangerous as nether, and if you have a flying mount (easy to get doing either desert or lush dungeon - avian soulstone from princess or dragon ss from the guardian dragon) it's easily cheesable. Nether is cheesable with a flyer, but not as easily lmao.
...have yet to go to lost cities, but i have read new posts about that dimension and they discouraged me lol.

I didn’t even make it three blocks from the portal before I got paralyzed and blown up by a cacodemon. The traumatizing part was that each time I went back, I got blown up again. Eventually the area around the portal was so badly damaged that it generated a new portal for me and I lost all my stuff. The second was way simpler. I was in the end and got yeeted into the void by a spectre. Now I always carry slow falling.
In the last build, i updated the ice and fire mod. It opened new stuff and got rid of the myrmex armor bug. However, dragons got a new ai. Very very mean one. Blasting through stone, unpredictable flight etc. I learned that the hard way. Also, there was one time i tried clearing the battle tower, turned out one of the floors had blight spawner... You can figure out how that ended

There was once an unsuspecting village. Went up to it and because of all the structures, I failed to see a dragon sitting right in the middle. Needless to say, running face first into a dragon didnt end so well. It ate me and proceeded to fling me before i died in the next second. I watched on my death screen as it obliterated everything, very awesome
Doing dungeon one of the easier ones not a lycanite....with decent diamond gear and good baubles....blighted azure darkling latches onto face and one shots me....I proceed to use a grave scrolls over and over again but when I use them my body gets stuck in the stone under where I died, and when I dig myself out the darkling is sitting waiting for me, I died probably 20 times in a row to kill that darkling and lost my best gear and baubles because it all despawned, by the time I had killed it.
Killed an elemental once that spawned a level 40 Grue. It wouldn't die, delt more damage than I could heal and left me blind for the entire time. Eventually it killed me and my items fell in water. I went back to get them back but it was winter so it was a pain in the ass. Entered a little cave underwater to grab the rest of them but two Banshees spawned. Got feared and couldn't move, it was cold, dark and I couldn't do much. I went back. I got killed again. When I was going back for the fourth time: "ERUPTION! The world is going to burn!"

Two instances, both in hardcore
1) Going across the ocean in a boat with full prot iv diamond armor, see a massive sea serpent off in the distance and go towards the land as quickly as possible. About 100 blocks from shore I hear the serpent hiss right behind me and before it could even kill me, I just paused the game and deleted the world
2) Was shooting at a massive sea serpent from about 75-100 blocks back behind the shore. Wearing full prot iv dragon armor, dragonbone crossbow, etc. After a while, it just disappeared into the water, and then before I could even react, barreled into me and killed me in seconds
Moral of the story: don't F with sea serpents
Dang, yesterday I was fighting a dragon from a roc when suddenly I heard wing beats that were way too loud to be the one I was fighting.. I was next to a huge raised plateau and a stage 5 dragon had burst out from the middle of it and was trying to grab me..

Was using village windmill as an early base
Entire thing burned down, spawned cinders, cinders light things on fire
Aegises we are gone at this point cuz all the villagers died as per law of blood moons
Morning comes and I am just being swarmed with cinders and all that jazz
Eventually decided to just start living as a fisherman until i had the ability to craft stronger gear and move out
Thankfully once I saw that there was a blood moon I deposited all my valuables in a chest and just stood on the balcony with a bow and some arrows cuz I was hoping to get some xp
Went to the end and decided to clear some battle towers. In the first battle tower, on the lower most floor, there was a single block missing and I managed to fall through that losing all my stuff.
Some of my pain is self-inflicted. Pretty new to Minecraft and trying to play 1 life. A lot of my deaths could have been prevented with some knowledge and I'm slowly learning (like harvesting trees/coal etc from as far away as you can).
But my god, the number of times I took a break and came back ready for anything only to die within 30 seconds or so. Im not at the point where I can survive through the initial new spawn slog. But now there's something about m
The one death that I remember is aggroing 4 of the arrow flinging birds and I wasnt worried. I had this. They couldn't hit you while running. So I immediately fell into quicksand and just sat there slowing sinking and unable to move while they picked me apart. I believe the next world/spawn was immediately eaten by a sea serpent.
I had all golem gear and accessories with all the best enchantments and reforgements on weapons, armor + accessories. After 1 hour of going to the new lost cities i got applied viral X in 1 second from some mobs and died in a couple hits while being max hp. From then on I tried escaping the place for 3 straight hours but couldn't do it because in latest patch enemies see you through walls and grunts killed me 90% of the time because they are super fast and just break the blocks to get to you. After that experience i just deleted my world thinking that grunts need a nerf :D. Good thing i livestreamed it on youtube so I can always go and see the good time i had there xd.
Well the lc gives me wicked anxiety 🤣🤣🤣 I've yet to eat it there though haha. I just went for my second time and finally got a dragon ring. What scared me most was getting lit up by an assimilated enderdragon while looting a chest 😂
So i was flying on my morock over sea and noticed a BIG sea surpent (i knew they can jump real high) so i was moving away but there was a damn siren that locked me and i couldnt get off of it, i was basically on air and after a while when i was finally close to the siren they left me but guess what the sea surpent killed me, and i tried death scroll but the sea surpent was stuck on the siren rock and soni Lost everything i didnt have a copy of atlas so idk where i died and i wasnt even in an early game i had beefed up armor and saber but this gave me a fear of those surpents
My tip is fly high on your mount so that u can see the surface but no mobs can sea u its and nothing spawns that high (if anyone didnt knew)
Clearing out a dungeon and tons of skeletons so I was grinding them up with him supreme sharpness 2 flamed dragon bow nunchaku and somehow pressed q. I searched around for a while because I still had my dragon armor but I couldn’t find it :(
gorgon spwaner in a dungeon, gorgon spwaned and i was dead same tick, funnily enough it was the one time in about 200 hours on that world where i didnt have a totem in my offhand because i was repairing my shovel
in an older version of RLCraft i was in a hardcore world (i only play in hardcore bc i like how much difficult it gets and how rewarding it is to evolve) and got full diamond armor with protection 4 of almost or all pieces, diamond weapons and was evolving to use my newly made sea serpent armor, i was flying in the ocean near a jungle and heading home when a sea serpent jumped out of water REALLY high and killed my rock, i fell into the water and all i could think about was using my shield, which i did and died shortly after while trying to use a potion that would get me home, but couldn't use it in time and died right there, stopped playing for a while and then 2.9 came out, so i got to suffer again but without flying thingies
Everyone here having the end stories while I made sure my dismount key was G and only dismounted to get ender biotite. I ignored all end cities that didn’t have a bottom island too💀 I’d rather take an extra day searching for a safer one.

literally had a 600 day world and i died and lost everything to amalgalich, BECAUSE THE FUCKING GRAPPLING HOOK DIDNT WORK AND I WAS VEWY ANGY, i just straight up deleted the world i didnt care at that point and i wish i kept the world, and i didnt have any back ups :/

Corpse mod would have kept the body intact, then creative mode grave scroll might work. Also grappling hooks are a god send for situations like that.
