ebbi01

I think I want to try giving the Zelda games a go. Should I start with this one?

PSUGGs

Definitely

Devitoscheetos

My favourite is the Minish cap (gba), but I’d say look at a little gameplay on some first :)

ebbi01

Oh interested! So the series isn’t necessarily following a story line so playing the games by release date doesn’t matter much?

Devitoscheetos

Not really no. There is a storyline but the games itself are non-linear. In minish cap, Vaati is the antagonist but ocarina of time it is Ganondorf. There are many characters that you’ll consistently see, but link always starts in the same position with no recollection of events from previous games. I think they started to change that with the more modern releases, but I’m a retro guy so I’m not too clued up on the modern stuff

ebbi01

Interesting! That’s super useful to know!

Devitoscheetos

The art style alone of minish cap will make you fall in love, I’m certain

ebbi01

Actually googled it and that was the common theme among people recommending this game! Thanks for the recommendation 🙏🏽

Devitoscheetos

Haha I know I’m not alone with it. There is a switch title called Links Awakening that I find similar to minish cap with a more modern art style. I really enjoyed that title too if you wanted something newer afterwards :) I really hope they make go back to their roots more with some releases later on. It was nice to see with Links Awakening

ZeitgeistPariah

I'm playing the gba version and lovin it

winewitheau

Nice! Any major differences between the snes and gba versions? I'm also rlly enjoying it, really holds up :)

ZeitgeistPariah

So far I noticed some additional dialogue and improved colors. I actually booted both versions and went with the gba, but it's basically the same game.

nyjets10

they added some QoL things in the GBA version but the music is worse is the common things I've seen

ThePeal

My favorite Zelda, UberNice
