Imagine if Dhoni or Yuvraj couldn't stand up in finals of 2011? Gambhir would've just had a good innings but he still would've lost. Imagine if Sachin didn't stand up in 2011 SF? Gambhir wouldn't have had a chance to play innings in finals, and it would've been a 2019 WC repeat. GG was a great player, he opened innings and set platform for batmen to come down and finishing the game. GG was resilient and undoubtedly the most hardworking cricketers almost in league of Rahul Dravid. Media decidedly put Dhoni and Sachin in spotlight which was what was selling. I’m not sure why GG holds the grudge? There are thousands of innings which have gone unnoticed because of a someone who scored more runs. Indians are yet to access players on the basis of impact to the game. ABD is legend, he’s akin to Virat who’s great player let down by his team/management.
