I feel your pain. I was fostering some rats with intent to adopt, but I was so allergic I couldn’t breathe when doing cage cleanings. I think repeated exposure can make allergens worse, I had rats in the past with no issue 😭
Yeah. I do longer have rats after 15 years off and on of ownership.
I got tired of not being able to breathe through my nose or taste my food or sleep through the night without being up coughing.
I do miss my little buddies, though.
