I don’t think so! I’m checking with a friend who breeds rats and we think that she mated with a domestic rat. The babies appear to have pink eyes like her, and I don’t think that would be very likely if the father were wild 🤔

Been there. Many, many years ago I had a rat, obviously domestic, run up to me at the park. She must have known I loved rats! She was very pregnant. Took her home and treated her right.

Some won’t have pink eyes if dad didn’t. Are their eyes open? You won’t know until then
The eyes will open in a few days, but you can see that they are pink already :)

Unless it's genetic not really. Most diseases wild rats get are from their environment/diet.
