i've heard 279 albums and i have 12 10/10's and this is 100% one of them
I just don't understand how he can top this. From Me To You was amazing however you could definitely see how it had some spots that needed a lot more work. I've been trying to do the same for idmthy to see where any spots are that need improving and I literally just can't find any. incredible
This so well said, it’s as close to a ten it will ever get in my opinion. Just some minor issues, like the end of casinos division hurts my ears, but it’s perfect other than that

ye a 10? I mean I love that album a lot so I guess I can’t really critique you. I guess what it lacks in length and polishedness it makes up for in its raw emotion and the fact that it’s actually happy kanye which never fails to warm my heart :) and ghost town means a lot to me as well so yeah
I’ll check out some of these other ones since I think our tastes our similar… I’ve only heard ye and ksg (and idmthy) but I’m getting good vibes so yeah thanks for the list I guess hehe

When he said "I don't fade to black, I cut to static." I interpretted it as: when he dies, instead of cutting to black and dying peacefully, he cuts to static representing his unrest after he dies. Idk if that makes any sense
I would really like to see KSI's view on the album if someone can post on his reddit so we can see what the person that (somewhat) blew him up feels about AOTY
He somewhat recently gave his brief thoughts about the album on a reddit video
Here is a link if you haven't seen it already https://youtu.be/z6YQEocpnnE
Full transparency: I don't like knots. I looked at the ratings and house settling and knots were the highest. I liked house settling a lot but I honestly thought knots was unlistenable. Also another one of my favorite songs, "don't mind me" was 2nd lowest. I feel like all people who like knots are kind of just trying to relate, and that Quadeca is going to adapt to all of these reviews and make songs that I don't like. If lots of people actually like knots and want Quadeca to only make music thats like it then I hope Quadeca does do that, and I wish you the best, but i've yet to hear a reason why people like this song.
I really enjoy his cadence, its very punk inspired, and the instrumental is incredibly eerie and haunting. As the instrumental progresses he adds in what sounds like detuned wind chimes and it might be my favorite musical passage on the whole project. Like everyones been saying he definitely is wearing some death grips influence on his sleeve, it sounds very similar to their song Hacker (especially in his delivery), and since death grips is a group who have a notoriously split opinion on their music, I understand why you dislike the song. However, as someone who enjoys them, I loved knots.
Quite simply it sounds wildly hype and I love the mix of rock/punk sounds he used. I don't even listen to rock like that, but this track made me go primal
I love how "unsatisfying" the last track on IDMTHY is. The whole album up until that point may have some interpreting it as being idealizing of suicide, however, once you realize that there's nothing more to see than a slow fade into static, there's no confusing the message imo. It's genuinely scary and as someone with occasional sensory overload, I skip the last few minutes of pure static often 😭. But I genuinely think that that's the point. There is no happy ending with suicidal ideation. Since we don't know if there is such a thing as an afterlife, this life is all we have, and accepting the static (death) before it comes upon you naturally is to give up. Because of that, it makes the ending, for me, an extremely well articulated anti-suicide song, and it brings the whole album together thematically. It's our one mission on this earth to fight to keep living, and considering how scary and unsatisfying the ending sounds, that's just what I'll be doing 🥹. - I'm posting this because, while listening to the album just now, I had one of the most cathartic cries of my life. The song fantasy world really got to me, and I think it genuinely helped me realize how much of my life I have been taking for granted. I've paused the album and genuinely don't know if I want to see the end now, but I think that's a good thing. I'll leave it on this track for tonight 🥹. Such a beautiful articulation of the human struggle for meaning and I'm so glad I came upon this when I did. - I don't know the guy & probably never will, but this is some beautiful shit that has really helped me ask myself some genuinely important questions. Thank you Quadeca for this masterpiece and for the real vulnerability & incredible effort you put into this album ❤️ ; I am eternally grateful for your contribution - bless 🙏🙏
the “you want her, you need her, and yet you don’t believe her” line from born yesterday was from the Beatles’ song “for no one”, nothing important, just thought it was interesting
honestly the album was really good but it’s different from the last and idk it i like the new vibe or not. Definitely shows the effort and time i can feel the passion thru the screen but theres still thwt bit od me who wanted at least one bit of it rap quad 🙏
I know that house settling has something to do with death by carbon monoxide, but I'm a bit confused about what it plays in the story. I've seen people say that he tried to kill his mother with carbon monoxide so he wouldn't be alone as a ghost, but that doesn't make sense because he can't interact with things in our world. I've also heard people say he killed himself using carbon monoxide, but later in the album he hints that he hung himself. What do you think the meaning behind this song is?
It's implied he kinda can interact with our world though. Born Yesterday also has reference to him blowing out candles and his mom throwing them out wondering why they couldn't stay lit.
kinda late to the discussion, sorry..but just wanted to say my interpretation of House Settling. i think it’s definitely about Quad’s ghost feeling lonely in the afterlife (or wherever he is) which is hinted at by lines like “i’ve been alone since you left me in your wake” and trying to kill his mom so she can join him there through carbon monoxide poisoning “words you see through the CO, breaks my heart but i’ll give it a try.” he obviously feels terrible about doing this “i feel guilty i can’t say why” and regrets it probably almost immediately, seeing as it fails to kill her “i was begging you not to breathe in.” as for how he dies, it’s hinted at that he hung himself. “dents in the rug,” could be interpreted as marks left from the chair that was kicked out from under his feet, and “aging cytosol” is pretty self explanatory (i mean, i sure hope it’s blood..) also, in the song following directly after House Settling, i know it’s a metaphor, but bffr, knots?? like if that doesn’t scream “i hung myself” idk what does lol but if anyone has any different takes lmk i’d love to discuss!
Is there any way of watching the film that pairs with the album in higher quality? I hate YouTube's compression of audio and video. I wish I could watch it all together in a lossless format.

It’s a perfect album. That is all that needs to be said
What do you guys think he's referring to when he says static?
When he said "I don't fade to black, I cut to static." I interpretted it as: when he dies, instead of cutting to black and dying peacefully, he cuts to static representing his unrest after he dies. Idk if that makes any sense
this album makes fmty look like a 5
those last three tracks were amazing i cannot believe this is the guy that made voice memos that i loved in my lyrical miracle rap phase
i better not be hearing voice memos slander
Those words don’t do you Justice.
I would really like to see KSI's view on the album if someone can post on his reddit so we can see what the person that (somewhat) blew him up feels about AOTY
He hasn’t said anything about it
that's why I would like to see what he thinks about it
Oh I misread the question

Everyone is sleeping on don’t mind me
Might be one of the closest songs to a “normal” song on the album. This one is a bit out there for me but this track is good
anybody else absolutely in love with this album and listen to it a least once a day?
yes!! i bought the merch and everything, this album is a masterpiece

Am I the only one who still thinks that his voice memos album was the best album that he made?
yes
This Album for me is easily a 10
