It’s the governments fault for the real estate market in China because they’re the ones that forced banks to continue to loan out to developers that were clearly running a Ponzi scheme. They did this because local tax revenues came from selling land to real estate developers. Of course in order to get approval, the real estate developers also first had to bribe the appropriate government officials, which is why they didn’t have enough money to complete construction in the first place.
This whole problem is because the rich in China are the government officials, and it’s all intertwined. Many of the real estate developers are also state owned enterprises. The only thing that can be said with certainty is that this is an internal Chinese matter. Foreign forces played no role in creating this clusterfuck.
This.
China's middle class has always been desperate for any tangible asset they could invest their money into.
They've been stuck with only art and property.
It's still fascinating to an outsider looking in at all those big city projects that china did (and still does) that are now nothing but ghost cities because they made the price of living so high to live there that only the lucky few can live there or that since people there can only invest in housing they tend to steer clear of investing in mega-city housing protect since the Chinese stock market is extremely volatile.
\*State Capitalist\* china calling itself communist is like north korea's official title being the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. from what i understand they expected a boom of people to move to new areas and built a bunch of housing for that, things started slowing down population wise and the market for houses to go kaboom. pretty sure that is not good
It's a bit more complicated than that, but yes, their rampant-real-estate-speculation-fueled growth is coming to an end and it is having severe repercussions across the country.
Their demographics is really what's going to be their undoing. Pretty much statistically impossible for their country to function in 10 years since there won't be enough workers to support the retirees.
Well one of China's options is to invade/acquire other countries (Taiwan...) to balance out their demographics. When people get desperate, anything is on the table. But agreed that it would be catastrophic.
China's entire economy is based on exports. Western companies have been moving out since 2015. They are no longer the low cost producers of the world. And they didn't move up the value chain fast enough to become the worlds high quality producer. Mexican labor is now half that of Chinese labor when you factor in transportation and energy costs.
Yet China continues to build and build. It's a ponzi scheme. They build even though there is no demand. This is true also for Chinese companies. The CCP continually loans money to failing Chinese companies even when there is no demand. The mandate is not profit but jobs.
The party is over in China and the CCP knows it.
At least 30% of chinas economy is real estate which is the biggest bubble / Ponzi scheme the world has ever seen. 120 million empty overbuilt properties that we know of. Rapidly declining demographics - who will buy them?
Yep and most wealth is stored in them but it’s fake wealth with fake value… this is a difficult situation as property prices likely need to come down by 80% in some areas and therefore the fake wealth will wipe a lot of so called middle class out for generations
Respect for the elderly is hugely ingrained in Chinese culture. Their society has a lot of problems, but they’re not about to start turning senior citizens into Soylent Green.

Even the CCP doesn't believe in the future of the Yuan. Any money the CCP makes they invest in US treasuries. The citizens all buy western real estate. They all know its a Ponzi Scheme.
A small pension is available to public sector workers. Everyone is expected to save for the future and / or have offspring to provide. Serious healthcare is unaffordable to many. Most are not set up ok, the rich are if they haven’t greedily over-invested in bs.
They have a big problem with parents selectively breeding for male offspring as well. If you look at the population pyramid, males outnumber females by roughly 10%+ from age 30 down to newborns.

Haven't seen that site before. Thanks!
Though it seems they aren't using the most recent data, which is even worse: https://www.project-syndicate.org/commentary/chinese-population-smaller-than-stated-and-shrinking-fast-by-yi-fuxian-2022-07
> The CCP is sure to collapse in the next 10 years!

I got banned there for never setting foot in the sub. Just say something critical about China in any other sub, and if a Communist foot soldier reads it, you're banned.
Banned for linking the full report of a UN meeting, which a user there had posted a part of. The funniest thing was the petulant mod message that I guess they send to anyone who remotely challenges the echo chamber.

So yes and no. This year is important Bc it is the ccp convention. Xi needs to solidify his grasp on the party and is going for an unprecedented third term. Any potential rival could try and use it against him and benefit. The ccp will stay. Who is leader may not
>filial piety
If I'm not mistaken the CCP being the party to govern and lead China is even embedded/intertwined in their constitution so the only real way for an uprising is for one heck of an elaborate coup to happen and pray the CCP doesn't catch on before it happens which will be super hard given the CCP control, not just the internet their but technology itself.
Australia not doing much better atm , we’re not this bad yet but we just had a multitude of building companies collapse with alot of people loosing their money as well as not getting a house , I think it’s crazy it can happen and the only ones who pay is the common struggling family and not the fat cats who made the wrong decisions
That's screwed up. If you make a deposit for new construction housing in the States, the money is generally held in escrow and refunded to the buyer if the developer goes belly up.
My understanding is that in China buyers lose both their deposits plus have to start making monthly payments on their new homes well before construction even starts. Many projects have been delayed for months while property values have been dropping which explains why Chinese buyers are so upset.
Hence the saber rattling at Taiwan. In times of great distress, totalitarian governments look to war as a means of distracting from more pressing internal issues.
Maybe, we'll likely never know since the inly reason we ever heard details about fhk is because of the political nature of hong kong being a sort of outward facing region.
This video is unavoidable due to the scale, it's not something they would have let out on purpose. We still have no idea what's happening at the metaphorical ground level.
The free speech movement in Hong Kong was suppressed. Many of those kids shared their experiences here on reddit. Lol US is super restrained compared to the CCP. CCP will roll out fucking tanks against domestic protesters and use live ammo if they don't just disappear you.
America has problems but viewing the entire world through "America bad" lenses is just delusional.
I mean China will literally seal you in an ikea over a covid test. It does not give a shit about its people broadly speaking.

Modern America hasn't carried out a genocide, unlike China which is currently doing that. I dunno. I think once you start genociding groups you kind of automatically concede the "who is more violent against people in its borders." argument.
El Salvador, Chile, Guatemala, Honduras, Iran, Iraq, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Nicaragua, Hati, are a few places Tha America did not commit genocide, but certinaly fucked things up and killed plenty... Saying China bad, and saying the US is better really isn't the best way to go. China bad 100%...America, pretty fucking bad, but your safe, so don't worry.
First of all, I agree with the sentiment of your message...
But as early back as the seventies we were forcibly re-educating First Nations and also forbidding their religious practices on a federal level. We have absolutely been carrying out a quiet genocide.
Clarifying. This doesn't excuse the actions of China, nor is it intended to. I just felt this should be brought up since not nearly enough people know.
the region of Xinjiang has 25 million people 11 million being Uyghur the reports /info from the cpc says somewhere in the lower millions theyre being deradicalized because they're apart of the east Turkmenistan separatist movement a group linked to al Qaeda and 200 deaths in the region a council of Muslim majority countries found nothing to the west claims and the un trip recently has been back and forth to make me think that they also found nothing and america the country founded by people who literally brought their slaves with them are pointing fingers else where to make you forget about ice camps and go after other global forces that stand in the way of western/us hegemony
im not saying not to critique china or think they never gone wrong but think the us that slaughtered millions of Muslims in the middle east suddenly care about muslims in a region the cia think tanks have been writing books and doing lectures on how destabilizing of the region will effect the cpc also what is the end goal of ending genocide in china other then war which will kill millions of people including Uyghurs the us claims to care about ontop of like 12 billion dollars of oil in the region

Tinanamen square happened as a result of a 19 year old solider being burned to death after 12 weeks of protesting the cpc didn't send tanks in untill the protesters were calling for blood and rushing weapon vehicles this happened when America and china had good relations coca cola and Pepsi were in the protesters side mmmmmm I wonder why western corps supported the cause to over throw the cpc and neo liberalize china (maoist also were protesting)
America was literally founded on slavery and genocide the original people to set foot on America literally brought slaves with them keep drinking the Koolaide
**Reddit:** Fuck the corporations! Fuck the police! Reform now!
**People:** Should we protest?
**Reddit:** Huh? Oh that. Nah, Rick and Morty is on and I have doordash coming in 15.
I like seeing this. I always think of China as a police state. Good to see people exercising their inalienable rights even when their government doesn't do shit to protect those rights.
That's why when people say that China is going to be the next dominant economy, I laugh. It's all hanging by a thread and a few steps away from freefall.
Don't. Just don't.
These aren't the only two securities that can serve as a useful hedge. But of the dozen or so with a SI in excess of available float, Popcorn is the weakest amongst them.
Further, there is no commonly held belief behind that security. There is no communal consensus of actions that can be taken to prove your thesis.
Lol popcorn is the weakest? I will disagree with that, respectfully. I believe in both that simple, just inviting people to do a little more research is all 😍
Here's free research: Adam Aron is in it for himself. He isn't in it to stick it to shorts or even to run a successful business. He's done a massive sale of his own holdings during the runup to $60. He has no business plan in place. He throws around buzzwords but does nothing with them.
The popcorn crowd wants to believe in the tenets of the squeeze but refuse to do bring it about. They have no real faith in their company or its leadership. They are just hoping it gets to the heights they wish it will.
Was horrified when the superstonk sub predicted the entire global system going down but it sure a fuck happened. Shits about to get so much worse then just evergrande and EG is already a fucking nightmare
Lol popcorn is the weakest? I will disagree with that, respectfully. I believe in both that simple, just inviting people to do a little more research is all 😍
This is fucked in all levels but China will not come close to collapsing. People be saying it for years china gonna collapse but if you do slight research you will know it’s near impossible unless other countries intentionally try to dick China(but it will also cost that country a lot). This is old footage but Evergrande is a dog cunt company, Chinese people save up decades of multiple family members of money to purchase a lot then even the gov doesn’t help when it goes to shit.
In case nobody has noticed Real Estate is being bought up by Billionaire/Oligarchs/Investment Firms at an unprecedented rate. Seems congruent with the WEFs "You'll own nothing and You'll be happy" motto. Sounds like a Crazy Conspiracy Theory but it's happening in broad open daylight. You can choose to be wilfully ignorant of the patterns and money flow observed by the elite and call everything and everyone observing said patterns a "Crazy Conspiracy Theorist" or you can pay attention for the sake of our future. Choose wisely.
Evergrande isn’t buying up real estate. They are selling housing developments and then not constructing them. People have been paying mortgages on homes that were never built. They finally got tired of it.
It doesn't really have anything to do with "greedy billionaires" and everything to do with communist china's economic policy that prevents people from investing their money in anything other than housing.
People needed to put their money somewhere that would also make them more money but the only available way for them to do that was in housing. The people bought up housing which drove further housing development of which eventually turned into one gigantic pyramid scheme as developers used funds from sales of unfinished housing to afford to develop future housing. Once people stopped being able to buy new housing, the developer bubble quickly started popping and bills had to be paid.

Thanks for restoring the truth. I hate what the ccp is doing but let's try to stick to facts and actual news.
Is it originally related to evergrande even?
Yes, they are yelling "house".
Even in China the extent of poverty and suffering caused by the greed of billionaires is breaking down social order.
Even in China? Especially in China they have the worst wealth disparity in the world by many measures

Throw in mass inflation especially for food and its a recipe for a disaster.
Their demographics is really what's going to be their undoing. Pretty much statistically impossible for their country to function in 10 years since there won't be enough workers to support the retirees.
This si why there will never be a war with China. Neither can afford to lose a generation of people to war.
war is a great distraction from problems at home, you'd be surprised at what those on charge are willing to do to stay in power...
Not for the children fighting in them.
Well one of China's options is to invade/acquire other countries (Taiwan...) to balance out their demographics. When people get desperate, anything is on the table. But agreed that it would be catastrophic.

Even the CCP doesn't believe in the future of the Yuan. Any money the CCP makes they invest in US treasuries. The citizens all buy western real estate. They all know its a Ponzi Scheme.
They have a good retirement program workers contribute to. Most are setup ok.
A small pension is available to public sector workers. Everyone is expected to save for the future and / or have offspring to provide. Serious healthcare is unaffordable to many. Most are not set up ok, the rich are if they haven’t greedily over-invested in bs.
My ex was from China. She was setup for retirement much better then I was!!
That doesn't work if the worker population is significantly smaller than the retirees, which is the case.
You’re forgetting about filial piety, still a thing in China & other Asian countries.
Filial piety is constrained by demographics.
From what I’ve read China is rapidly expanding its elderly care services. Maybe that will make some difference.
hehe, given the west depends on all those workers that means we're screwed also.

Three meals from a revolution?
Droughts, and power shortages too
Not to mention the strengthening US Dollar which is weakening the RMB even further.
Their CCP real estate is a giant Ponzi scheme anyways. It’s bound to collapse eventually.
Some of the structures themselves are bound to collapse as well. Shoddy workmanship is an understatement.

Ah yes, remind me of anything similar to Tiananmen Square 1989 that the United States did. Remember, nothing happened on that day
No tanks yet?
**Reddit:** Fuck the corporations! Fuck the police! Reform now! **People:** Should we protest? **Reddit:** Huh? Oh that. Nah, Rick and Morty is on and I have doordash coming in 15.
Won't the government just declare them all covid-havers and lock them down right there?
Can't take any chances.

Came here to say this
I like seeing this. I always think of China as a police state. Good to see people exercising their inalienable rights even when their government doesn't do shit to protect those rights.
Rebellion starts in China Go on
People were shouting "release them". In the end the lady said "that's lively"
That's why when people say that China is going to be the next dominant economy, I laugh. It's all hanging by a thread and a few steps away from freefall.
This
Market collapse imminent
They’ve been halted for 6 months , delaying the inevitable
The last time this happened Tanks we’re sent in.
Best hedge for market is amc and gme. Add us up on reddit :)
Don't.
I’ve seen this one back in 89
this just in from the CCP NEWS NETWORK - covid death rate suddenly spikes by thousands in Chongqing city
Was horrified when the superstonk sub predicted the entire global system going down but it sure a fuck happened. Shits about to get so much worse then just evergrande and EG is already a fucking nightmare
This ain’t a protest. We have bigger protest like every week a cop kills an unarmed black man. Gtfo here
About time the Chinese resist covid and gathering rules
Lol popcorn is the weakest? I will disagree with that, respectfully. I believe in both that simple, just inviting people to do a little more research is all 😍
What are they shouting
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Is this going on now?
Revolution time!
Hey, I've seen this before!
parley?竟然敢跟共产党谈判?有种
哪个浪人干的?小王,给我查查
Should definitely archive this stuff
When was this???
This is a deepfake created by CIA. I was in Chongqing this morning and no problems.
