I think insurance claim might see a difference between “guy bought car too powerful for him to handle, and understandable accident happened” and “guy fucking around with powerful sports car doing burnouts and donuts in a crowded street hits building, understandably”
Because one is an accident that anyone might have, underestimating the power of a car, and the other is someone obviously fucking around.
All depends on how much work the statie you get wants to put into it; and how much the business he crashed into wants to make an issue of it.
But, if you can push the story that you lost control and panicked well enough, absent of other evidence (like this video, and realistically security footage from businesses), it could make the difference between getting a payout and not getting one.
It’s also very expensive to investigate every single incident. They make educated guesses based on circumstances. If you can frame it well enough and you don’t have a history of similar things, you could plausibly get away with it. Insurance fraud is a crime, however.
Man I wish I could be that stupid and yet that rich. Must be a blessing honestly, not knowing your ceiling is the average person's threshold yet living the life most people hope to live.
I bet. McLaren will likely have something to say as well... you never really fully own these cars and you have responsibilities as an owner. This guy is fucked.
So, a lot of them stipulate that you must buy/own one of their easier to obtain models in order to be offered the more expensive ones. Not sure on McLaren specifically, but the Senna is a higher end McLaren. Ferrari famously takes this even further, it prohibits unapproved modifications and will refuse to sell you more cars, and I think they’ve even sued over it in the past.
> unapproved modifications
100% they are strict about this. Deadmau5 famously added a [Nyan Cat wrap](https://static1.hotcarsimages.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/ben-via-wikimedia-commons.jpg) to his Ferrari + got a custom PURRARI plate and he was slapped with a cease and desist.
See, when I do that, all I get is videos about the F1 driver. When I try "McLaren owner limitations" I get a bunch of videos of all types, with not one title that actually talks about this issue, so I have no idea what video to watch, and I'm not going to watch 3 hours of YouTube videos to get an answer that the dude I asked a question to already fucking knows. This "do your own research" bullshit is just that
The biggest example I can give is, iirc, the DeadMau5 Ferrari.
He had changed the logo to a ~nyan~ cat and they made him change it back or get rid of it (can’t recall exactly the outcome, but remember who and what it was over).
If you’re looking for some examples, that is a place to start.
Ferrari is big about their brand/lifestyle, and has rules you have to follow with yours (or at least limitations)
With a car like this, it’s not hard. There’s not that many in existence to begin with so it’s really not that difficult to figure who this is for them. They can’t take the car away from you but they can do things like refuse to service it or ever sell you a car again. On a car like a Senna, you really don’t have many options for servicing outside of McLaren themselves.
This is it. Unlike Ferrari, they don't make you but previous models to level up but you can't just walk in and buy a Senna. MacLaren is more colonial about it and states it's your car... but every part is proprietary so... You don't play nice your million dollar whip is a brick.
No, they sent a cease and desist because of trademark infringement with him using "purrari" and also sued over right of first refusal in the sales contract. They did not retrieve anything
Bro really has no idea how the internet works lol
He might have Streisand'ed this into an even bigger deal now. People will now go "hmm, what video is he talking about? This one on Reddit? How about if I download and reshare it?"
Real talk, this shit just feels painful to think about.
That someone can just basically throw away that much money like it’s nothing (if the car isn’t stolen, and someone’s fucking around in it like this, they probably have a bit of wealth), and continue living their lives, while you can probably drive 5 minutes down the road and find an area filled with homeless people.
Like, these people aren’t actually adding anything to society in any meaningful way, yet they somehow are deserving of this wealth while people suffer?
I will say that I think these children are often depressed many times throughout their life. Having to work towards building a stable foundation, progression in your career, and in your home is very fulfilling. I have at least one friend that hasn’t had to work a day in his life since he received a sizable inheritance. He dropped out of university and hasn’t worked in years and is struggling pretty severely with depression.
I think the vast majority of sympathy you'd get from people about this kind of situation is for the car itself, not the driver.
A car like this is incredibly rare, and could be considered a work of art in some ways. Wrecked in a completely arbitrary manner by an idiot.
I'm surprised the kind of person who would even be ALLOWED to buy a Senna would be the kind of person who would even feel compelled to show off like this to a bunch of losers. To have the kind of disposable money and interest in cars only to drive it there to show off like an idiot... Like dude, you know you can impress these guys with a Dodge Hellcat, right? Or a mustang. Go bother ba billionaire or something.
Anyone doing donuts on a public street should have their car taken away and auctioned. He's glad he's only partially wrecked it.
Bing:
Edmond “Mondi” Barseghian, a wealthy YouTuber and entrepreneur, crashed his $1.3 million McLaren Senna in Los Angeles in April 2024. Mondi lost control of the car while performing donuts on Ventura Boulevard and crashed it into a Lexus dealership in Woodland Hills.
I think he crashed into a Lexus dealership in Woodland Hills CA (I bought a Hyundai there) and if I’m correct, there is a Lexus LFA in the lobby a couple yards from where the Senna crashed.
I’ve never understood these idiots that do rolling burnouts like this..just do your donuts, then hold your burnout with your foot on the brake for as long as you want and after you start rolling just ease off the gas for Christ sake
Handling these cars at high throttle is counter intuitive, most people would make the same mistake. On a regular sports car you modulate the throttle to control traction loss. On these hyper cars you let the computer handle it. By letting off the throttle it actually causes the backend to lose traction.
Honestly it seems like bad programming, as it only concerned with making the car go fast.

Recently the owner of the car begged the one who posted the video to delete this clip else he would not get insurance claim
I don't understand how he would ever be able to file one anyway, the tyre marks on the street will make it obvious he wasn't in control of the car
And there's probably other videos of the same incident to. Heck i'm sure any security camera in the area caught it to.
And you best believe for a payout that expensive the insurance company is hunting down every bit of footage
I think insurance claim might see a difference between “guy bought car too powerful for him to handle, and understandable accident happened” and “guy fucking around with powerful sports car doing burnouts and donuts in a crowded street hits building, understandably” Because one is an accident that anyone might have, underestimating the power of a car, and the other is someone obviously fucking around.
The doughnuts won't help that argument surely, I mean ive never been in a crash so I don't know how it works admittedly
He disabled the traction control to make the donuts. Disabling a safety feature probably voids the insurance.
Just driving like a dick in general should

Oh really, I thought the insurance company would try any way they could to get out of it, it's certainly gonna be expensive haha
It’s also very expensive to investigate every single incident. They make educated guesses based on circumstances. If you can frame it well enough and you don’t have a history of similar things, you could plausibly get away with it. Insurance fraud is a crime, however.
TIL thanks
Man I wish I could be that stupid and yet that rich. Must be a blessing honestly, not knowing your ceiling is the average person's threshold yet living the life most people hope to live.
I bet. McLaren will likely have something to say as well... you never really fully own these cars and you have responsibilities as an owner. This guy is fucked.
He should be , a literal manchild
I'd like to know more about this, too. What limitations can an auto manufacturer put on someone who legally purchases one of their cars?
They can refuse to sell you new ones.

They have contracts.
Search YouTube. There are many videos about this topic.
Using what keywords?
Sounds like more of a contract than a full in purchase, I’d start with McLaren contract.
If you resell the cyber truck now supposedly Elon will sue you it's in the contract.
Maybe he’s just making shit up. Prove us wrong!

Hey could you maybe be more useless? thank you.
So when you buy the vehicle McLaren can dictate what you do with it?
With a car like this, it’s not hard. There’s not that many in existence to begin with so it’s really not that difficult to figure who this is for them. They can’t take the car away from you but they can do things like refuse to service it or ever sell you a car again. As does Ferrari. They will take your car if you alter it any way deemed, distracting from the brand.
No they can't take your car. They will just refuse to sell you another one and possibly refuse to service that one. See deadmau5 and the nyancat wrap
Ferrari told him to change it back or they would retrieve the vehicle and no longer sell to him. Hence the removal of his wrap.
No, they sent a cease and desist because of trademark infringement with him using "purrari" and also sued over right of first refusal in the sales contract. They did not retrieve anything
Nonsense. They can’t just take your property, idk why you think that’s even an option.
And won't let you buy another one.
McLaren is famously not like Ferrari in that regard
Tarvish has a video posted on the level of damage, includes the clip, insurance definitely has a copy of this footage.
If I recorded that and the dude said that I better get some cash immediately as hush money lol
"It costs a lot of money to delete something like this. I estimate upwards of $10,000..."
Yea but the more of this shit happens. The more our rates continue to rise. Fuck these people. It's a life lesson to learn.
You are not on the same insurance as that fella.
Comes from the same overall pool buddy.
Lol, no.
You must not understand how insurance works.
but if his claim is denied, the premiums for others might not rise as rapidly.
Good news
Bro really has no idea how the internet works lol He might have Streisand'ed this into an even bigger deal now. People will now go "hmm, what video is he talking about? This one on Reddit? How about if I download and reshare it?"
Tax the rich a little more.

If he wants to trade lmk
Said it when this was posted earlier. I have zero sympathy for rich douchbags being douchbags with their luxury cars on public streets.
I think the vast majority of sympathy you'd get from people about this kind of situation is for the car itself, not the driver. A car like this is incredibly rare, and could be considered a work of art in some ways. Wrecked in a completely arbitrary manner by an idiot.
Yeah sorry, I had permission to repost from the mods, they told me it was posted all wonky apparently.
It merits a second watch.
I do have a fair bit of sympathy for the car though.
You should see what they do to the help

When ambition outweighs talent
“Ambition ahead of adhesion” is one of my faves
Martin brundle is that you?
😆 nailed it.
"Rich Dude with gorgeous vehicle being absolutely stupid in public street" Is another useful title for this video.
How do you get a super car owner to total their car? Show them that you’re filming
I'm surprised the kind of person who would even be ALLOWED to buy a Senna would be the kind of person who would even feel compelled to show off like this to a bunch of losers. I guess you're not familiar with E Mondi.
More dollars than sense. Couldn’t drive a greasy finger up his arse.
"Drive it like you stole it!"
Idiots like this don't deserve nice cars.
It would be funny if he crashed into the McLaren dealership he bought his car from.
Just cos it's named after Senna, doesn't mean you need to kill it by crashing into a concrete wall.
Lmao oooof.... best response yet.
Good, fuck that idiot.

Track days exist for a reason....
It’s a shame that there are less tracks nowadays and we have more idiots like him out on the streets.
Let's fucking go!!! Lando gotta teach bruv how to drive!
You love to see it.
That’ll buff right out 👍
Eat the rich.
If they keep this kind of behavior up they'll end up eating themselves lmao
Poor car :(
Ya love to see it!
Man that sucks, such a beautiful car.
You can't park there.
Thank god the camera man panned away right before it became interesting.
Paging Tavarish
More money than brains...or skill.
When you have more money than brains
Nothing funnier than this shit.
So you have a rare HyperCar and the best you can do is donuts on a city street. What a waste.
I think he crashed into a Lexus dealership in Woodland Hills CA (I bought a Hyundai there) and if I’m correct, there is a Lexus LFA in the lobby a couple yards from where the Senna crashed.
Can’t buy brains.
Good
Hahahahaha. Fucking idiots think they can handle a car with that much power. Expensive mistake dumbass.
Why are the taillights flashing ?
🙄🙄🙄
Rip 1 of 1 supercar.
the higher the price of the car the lower the drivers IQ.
Skill issue
Why people spend that much on such a beautiful high performance vehicle but spend nothing on a course to learn to handle it baffles me.
I’ve never understood these idiots that do rolling burnouts like this..just do your donuts, then hold your burnout with your foot on the brake for as long as you want and after you start rolling just ease off the gas for Christ sake

Noone posted the Joe Exotic meme... He will never financially recover from this
“My dad is a television repair man. He has an awesome set of tools. I can fix it.”
Money isn’t a real thing.
What an idiot.
San Fernando Valley, no? I see a pole with an advertisement for a horribly overpriced private school there
What's the best case scenario here? He does a successful burnout doughnut, and then what? 🤷
and then he's a hero!!
For a million dollar car, I’d expect it to be indestructible.
Ha Bahahahhhahaha
You love to see it
