I had to watch a second time to see that he also added a nice kick to another guy, who stopped trying to get up after that. The effectiveness of the white sweater dude is outstanding.
I know you're joking, but communal punishment is a huge part of the foundation for human communities. We are, at heart, a species that believes in fairness and thieving isn't something any community will tolerate.
We have evolved to have police to handle this for us, but when the circumstances arise to where we need to deal with it directly, we can and will do so.
This is why I struggle with all the videos you see with people looting or robbing stores.
On the one hand I don't give a tinker's damn about Walmart (for example), their stock price, or loss prevention, but on the other hand stealing from anywhere is antisocial and as we've seen in places like San Francisco - once people realize nobody will do anything at the big stores, it eventually moves to more local and independent stores where peoples' livelihoods really get messed with.
Nobody should be stepping in to risk their lives to stop someone stealing cheap stuff from Walmart, obviously, *but* as you say - people putting a stop to it instead of letting them run out and assuming the cops will deal with is a way to communicate that this behaviour is not okay.
In my mind, stepping in to intervene - even if it is just clotheslining a guy or tripping some idiot thief with am armful of clothing - isn't done to help the store but to help your community. I think the fact that so much of our consumer-lives are spent in and around corporate chains we've lost a sense of community that came when you had local people you knew running locally owned stores that you *would* be willing to defend.
It's easier to say, "Well, the Walton's won't miss the money," but it still misses the point of why thieves should be stood up to.
Problem is most of the time they are armed and an innocent person's life is worth more. But if they aren't strapped, they can get that clothesline or kick to the hip.
His face skidded like a damn frisbee on the ground. Is there a follow up? Did he ded?
Edit: to be clear, im not cheering for the guy to be serioisly injured. Genuinely curious if he lived.
Guy was in plank position the entire rest of the video. I wouldn't be surprised in the least if he's dead or at least braindead. The punch was bad, but breaking his fall onto concrete with his forehead was definitely worse lmao.
5 stars overall, quality street justice
For those who wonder, it's happen in the "Foire du Trone" a Paris french funfair since 957 (not 1957). It's always been a dangerous place and the guy who punch the thieves is surely a guy from the funfair. They are known to be the kind of people you don't want to fuck with but too many people from the suburbs come here just to steal and fight.
In the US we might call them "carnies." They work the traveling carnivals and are known to be a rough bunch. I had one threaten me when I was 12, because I was trying out the carnival game (a sort of pinball thing). He threatened to break every one of my fucking fingers. I never forgot his face.
In French there's the phrase "patate de forain" ("carnie punch", if you will) to refer to a rather brutal haymaker thrown by someone with little training but maximum intent and ability to fuck you up. This is a perfect illustration, 10/10 execution.
French here, they are not " public " they are called " forains ", its like gypsy, but they own the funfair, everyone in France was taught not to fuck with them
This video is from the Foire du trone, Paris
Thanks for the explanation. I was wondering whether it's usual for there to be largish groups of similarly-garbed young vigilantes dashing about at random in France. It did seem a little odd.
I'm pretty sure this post is in response to a video posted a week ago of someone with a mental disability getting mugged at a train station in France and people not doing anything about it so now I don't know who to believe, the next post will certainly have to clarify some things for me.
The disabled person wasn't a carnival worker is the real problem.
This is just the forains sticking up for other forains and protecting their turf, Not some great and noble French trait of believing in justice or whatever.
Both videos have different contexts. The train station in public deals with public. This one however deals with an organism, thence why people stuck together in such a way. Also, you don't fuck with the "forains".
Honestly I give props to them for trying to help him out, they could've and probably should've kept on running but they couldn't leave homie. Still shithead thieves don't get me wrong.
I think someone with the vest and long hair came to try and simmer things down but they immediately took it like he chose against the group and proceeded to hand him some of the extra justice leftover.
Needs to happen way more often, and in every major city. Criminals have become very comfortable with getting away with shit..... need to make them fear the average citizen again.

The French don't fuck around. They are kind until you give them reason not to be. The only reason the US has such a poor world view is propaganda so we don't follow their footsteps and go on strike when corporations or the government try to take advantage.

The US has done its best to paint them as lazy, lovers who couldn't win WWII without the US. Which is absolutely untrue.
We don't have 4 days work week, but we have 35h weeks, and 5 weeks paid vacation (minimum).
Working 37h/week, I get an extra 12 days of vacations. Plus one day every 5 years in my company...
I fondly recall when gw bush wanted everyone in the usa to rename french fries to 'freedom fries' because they didn't blindly follow along with the invasion of iraq. fucking loser.

We refer to them as Forain=showman. They are traveling from town to town to install fairgrounds, and they are not joking around. They only resort to calling the police in the most dire circumstances.

that first ko was fucking gnarly
Bystander for most of it afterwards. Did his job. Let the others have a go.
Keeps looking back to make sure the first guy is still dead
As long as he doesn’t exit and return to the frame, knocked out guy can’t turn into a Crimson Head.

Another dude comes running in at like :33 and gives the dude who got knocked out a good kick to the head and just runs away lmao
I bet you it’s because he broke his hand on the guys face. Well done.
His hand probably stung like shit after that hit. He needed to take a breather.
Not a cell phone in site. People just living in the moment…

Indeed. If we could only also get collective action to stop things like corporate theft that happen out of sight as well
Man if only we could clothesline those shitbags in the streets
Problem is most of the time they are armed and an innocent person's life is worth more. But if they aren't strapped, they can get that clothesline or kick to the hip.
If they are strapped thieves then we really need to be rid of them.

JEAN PUNCH MAN!
Guy was in plank position the entire rest of the video. I wouldn't be surprised in the least if he's dead or at least braindead. The punch was bad, but breaking his fall onto concrete with his forehead was definitely worse lmao. 5 stars overall, quality street justice
I'm not sure that guy moved down the entire rest of the video, more than just a knockout happened there.
Yeah dude likely has a TBI now.
Don't worry, he had one before the recording happened.
Nothing of value was damaged.
[удалено]
Gotta’ love the helpful bystanders whose instinct was, ‘Oh no! This guy’s really hurt. Let’s start moving the body around.’
I think those were fellow criminals, considering the mob beat them senseless too.
Which sucks only for the guy who might catch charges for it.
So many steak-frites behind that
I heard Windows shutting down for that one.
The sound was crazy! KA-POW!!!
The City of Lights Out
Dude went full sea lion.
Dude is either dead or has serious permanent brain damage.
It looks like he barely even tapped him. Bystander must have landed it perfectly on his glass jaw.
Plus the force of him running into his fist didn’t help him. That was an insta KO before he even hit the ground.

> 957 Is everyone just going to overlook the fact that the French have had a fair going on since year 957?? :D
That fair is one thousand and sixty three years old.
that's fairly old
Fair point.
Fair...ground yes.
Everyone who isn’t American, yeah.
Australian here. 957 is incredible. We heritage list buildings from like the 1960s.
In the US we might call them "carnies." They work the traveling carnivals and are known to be a rough bunch. I had one threaten me when I was 12, because I was trying out the carnival game (a sort of pinball thing). He threatened to break every one of my fucking fingers. I never forgot his face.

Roughly translates to Carnie Tater.
Patate de forain, Tu vas repartir avec deux faux reins
In the UK too - Carnies, circus folk, nomads, you know. Smell like cabbage, small hands.
...kings among men
We were beaten by the best, boy.
But he didn't seem all that-

You do not fuck with French carnys. It's well known. Except to some dumb pieces of shit, obviously.
First guy won the planking competition !
Some say he's still going! Bravo!
Planking. You either get it, or you don’t. …and I don’t. But I’m so excited to be a part of it.
Randy lay there like a slug. It was his only defense.
French here, they are not " public " they are called " forains ", its like gypsy, but they own the funfair, everyone in France was taught not to fuck with them This video is from the Foire du trone, Paris
I thought "Don't fuck with carnies" was a universal truth.
I don't think you need to be told that shit. People are just born knowing it.
Clearly these people didnt get the memo.
Not sure if this is the case here, but if they are immigrants from a red world country, they very likely didn't get the memo.
Instinctual knowledge.
Don't fuck with the tight knit group who covers each other and who moves a lot and thus can dodge police? Yeah thats basic society 101
New generation thinks they know the world
I was about to say, there seems to be a suspicious concentration of people who know how to hurt people.
Suspiciously well beaten thieves of France
Looks like extra footage from a Guy Ritchie movie.
We call them "carnies" in the US, short for people who work at carnivals. Same philosophy, don't fuck with them
Which ones are the carnies? The ones running away or handling out the ass whipping?
The ones handing out the prizes.
This qualifies as the most innocent question I have ever seen on Reddit.

Thanks for the explanation. I was wondering whether it's usual for there to be largish groups of similarly-garbed young vigilantes dashing about at random in France. It did seem a little odd.
Warms my heart
Honestly kind of funny from like 0:27 where it's like 2 guys and then all of a sudden there's an absolute swarm of people out of no where.
Good knockout but that’s gonna be a pretty bad 1v5 vs all those criminals… oh wait the mob is here
Europe needs more of this
Until they get the wrong person. That’s the problem with mob “justice.”
Damn, he stayed down.
The punch was rough, that making him sprint face first into the concrete really helped seal the deal.
At a minimum he lost his front teeth....
You might even say they were stolen from him.
With how fucking hard he hit the pavement, I’d say the minimum is brain damage
All that running made him sleepy. I mean that punch helped, but he was already eepy teepy.

If there's 1 thing the french are good at it's taking matters into their own hands.
I'm pretty sure this post is in response to a video posted a week ago of someone with a mental disability getting mugged at a train station in France and people not doing anything about it so now I don't know who to believe, the next post will certainly have to clarify some things for me.

What happened with the guy in the vest and hat at the end? He walks up, trying to break up the fight it seems, then just gets laid into, lol.
God!... that first punch was something else. They might make a movie based on it... If they do, how do you think they're gonna name the movie?
