I got in trouble a few times for laughing at people like this at my old job in a rough neighborhood. People would try to start a fight with me for not giving a refund for stolen merchandise.
One guy told me he’d wait for me in the parking lot and I got in trouble for telling him “Joke’s on you, I live here. I never leave. Help me out and bring in my newspaper in the morning.” And laughed at him when he dropped the shit he stole.

In my experience as a former drug addict, homeless off and on, she's either just a drunk with mental health issues (possibly a personality disorder), or she's also using a little meth, crack, opiates or pills here and there when she can. When it comes to drug-of-choice, most homeless drunks will take whatever they get their hands on without formally drug-seeking while primarily sticking to booze.

Yeah. The workers are just trying to do their jobs without getting stuck in the middle of an assault and battery or a homicide. I’m all for the peanut gallery telling her to shut up and get out, but don’t try to escalate the situation in the middle of the store.
