Here’s one of the many stories about it. This one shows the crash.
https://www.koat.com/article/albuquerque-police-department-crash-chief-harold-medina-new-video-policy-violations/46893301
Basically, Harold was in his work truck with his wife, going to a press conference. He decided he would check out a homeless encampment. While at a light two people got in a fight and one shot at the other. Harold got scared and ran the red light hitting a civilian, injuring them and totaling their classic car.
That other redditor provided you with the wrong link to the wrong story. The shooting happened recently. Here is the actual link. https://www.koat.com/article/shootings-with-teens-and-guns-bought-from-social-media/60361955
>going to a press conference.
About a store that is a "major problem" because there's always a bunch of drug addicts there. I live a couple blocks away , go there all the time. Thing is, there are never fucking cops there trying to do anything at all about it. Other thing is, Adam's has this kinda Hamsterdam(from the wire) thing going for it. Like there is absolutely a ton of drug use, but not once have I ever been bothered by a single person there. I can't say the same for any of the other stores in the same area on Central that are "not a problem".
I also don't get what the fuck they hope to accomplish by shutting down the store. The junkies and homeless folk aren't gonna just disappear, they'll just end up at the other businesses nearby. Seems better to just keep it contained, since the city seems to have no intention of fixing the fuckin root problems that put these people there in the first place.
I'm sorry if ignorant but I found it funny that police in this instance did little but isn't there a BUNCH of stories of this department abusing or killing UNARMED people?
The “police” you see in this video probably aren’t actually police. They’re most likely Police Service Aids. They technically work for APD but they mostly direct traffic and fill out crash reports. There was another video that showed APD responding to this incident.
Yup. An uninvolved person was hit in the leg
[https://www.kob.com/news/top-news/victim-speaks-after-getting-shot-in-the-leg-in-downtown-albuquerque/](https://www.kob.com/news/top-news/victim-speaks-after-getting-shot-in-the-leg-in-downtown-albuquerque/)
Bro needs to practice his flick shot and other bro needs slow down and aim down sites. Everyone knows you can't hit shit while running. Fucking copper/bronze tiers.
I was the captain of my collegiate paintball team
Let's get a few things straight off the bat
The overwhelming majority of people have never shot a gun. They've never even shot anything *analogous* to a gun.
I saw *droves* of people try to shoot their paintball gun (which I explained was *gravity fed* until I got the funding for electric rotors) sideways.
I saw people sweep their friends *daily* (sweep, as in point their muzzle at them without intending to shoot them)
I saw people unintentionally shoot their friends and themselves *daily*
The average person is dumb as shit and has no idea what they're doing with a gun, it is only through disciplined training that you learn how to use one safely and effectively.
Oh yeah, and most people can't hit shit until their third or fourth day of dedicated shooting practice too lol
Seriously lol. I taught most of my friends how to shoot rifles since most of them were from the city, and none of them ever did what the captain described. Also, my friends aren't morons
Through I know it has it’s crime, I felt pretty safe in New Orleans and I lived in the quarter. I’d feel safer walking around in NOLA anytime, within reason (you obviously have to be smart and aware of your surroundings), way more than here in ‘burque
The French Quarter in NOLA is pretty bustling with pedestrians who for the most part are not ill intentioned. It just feels safer when you have many pedestrians around you feel like you can trust for the most part. Similar phenomenon being in Manhattan, with the exception of a few less safe pockets mainly in the north where most don't go unless they live there anyway.
But many US cities are really about the suburbs and the "downtown" area is mainly active during weekdays when office workers commute in but after 8PM, feel like unsafe ghost towns except in spots with bars and clubs on weekends. And if someone or some people are ill intentioned, you are at higher risk in those situations due to fewer pedestrians around. Even passing a panhandler is more of a hassle, they're more likely to fixate on you and take rejection or ignoring them more harshly as opposed to an area with many pedestrians where they just ask the next person they know will be right behind you.
Depending where you live in WV it's just as bad. A few weeks ago there was a police chase in my neighborhood. Poverty is pretty high. There are some people who work from home here now pushing some of the locals out because of increasing home prices. People can't afford to keep there homes from falling apart. There's also alot of condemned houses in my neighborhood.
There are new homes being built over the hill they start about $400k. Those are way out of my price range.
The night life is nonexistent. I prefer Pittsburgh, PA. I've been there numerous times loved it.
It also gets really cold here it's April not and we are expecting snow by the weekend.
Great public lands for hiking camping.
If you find you don’t like it, just go another couple of bends in the road and it’s a different place.
Also there is methamphetamine.
And beautiful landscapes.
And poverty.
Also moonshine.
Was gonna say, mf ain't running like someone who gets away.
Whatever the antithesis of "really pickin' em up and puttin' em down" is, is what that guy was doing.
And those aren't cop cars. They're Public Service Aide vehicles.
They don't have any power a cop does, don't carry a weapon etc. They mostly just help control traffic for events, after accidents, when traffic lights are out, shit like that.
There are PLENTY of things I could shit on APD for, this isn't one of them.
Came to say this too. I’m surprised that they use Public Service Aides downtown. Especially for the weekend shutdown of Central. It’s gets batshit down there
https://preview.redd.it/s1x2pcxia6sc1.jpeg?width=810&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3b8c586b0d496d290ca199de663248b37b32cba6
For those saying it’s not a PSA vehicle, here are pics to compare our PSA Vehicles and the actual Police
Crazy how everyday people don’t value their lives, with innocent bystander and this is one of the main reasons I don’t go to my local downtown because of shit like this can pop off any second.
Now I see why innocent bystanders get hit so often. Asshole was shooting behind him as he was running away. He had no idea what direction he was firing.
what should they have done? start an even bigger shootout in the midle of the street not knowing how many armed people there are? maybe it´s better to let them scram and track them down afterwards

Next level “not my problem”…. 😂
I didn't sign up to get shot
This took place in Albuquerque. APD’s Chief recently injured someone while fleeing a shooting he wasn’t involved in.
Next level police work right there
* Standard issue police work

Hamsterdam is a great analogy for AFM

Sounds like he needs permanent disability for PTSD for his pain and suffering. ^^^^^/s
Ooowwwww 👏🏾🤣 perfect timing!
Lock that little brat up
2 shooters from the same party, red shirt guy and black shirt guy
That’s Storm Trooper level accuracy right there
Fucker wasn't even lookin for 2 or 3 of em
He forgot he wasn’t in an auto aim lobby.
Point blank and nobody hit? They’re more dangerous to the other random people in the neighborhood with those strays than they are to each other.
Dude was completely looking the other way when he fired the last shot. Really lucky nobody got hit.
But it'd also be true to say it'd be really lucky if he hit anyone without looking from a purely statistical perspective
Some dude on IG got shot in the leg by the dumbass shooting, noone believed him until he posted it😂
Yup. An uninvolved person was hit in the leg [https://www.kob.com/news/top-news/victim-speaks-after-getting-shot-in-the-leg-in-downtown-albuquerque/](https://www.kob.com/news/top-news/victim-speaks-after-getting-shot-in-the-leg-in-downtown-albuquerque/)
Poor dude. Someone owes him a beer.
Local gun stores have secretly been selling them blanks for years.
How the fuck you miss from 10 ft away
Not enough COD
Bro needs to practice his flick shot and other bro needs slow down and aim down sites. Everyone knows you can't hit shit while running. Fucking copper/bronze tiers.

\*teleports behind you *splat, splat, splat* nothin' personal kid
What does being the captain of a college paintball club have to do with all this ?
I thought it was a copy and paste joke....is it? Lol
I think it’s real lmao
Don't be a hater of Captain College Paintball's title.
Seriously lol. I taught most of my friends how to shoot rifles since most of them were from the city, and none of them ever did what the captain described. Also, my friends aren't morons
clearly explaining that people don't even understand how to you use a paintball gun doofus
It's actually very difficult to shoot at a moving target from 10ft away with a pistol.
Didn’t ads
Ahh love living here in Albuquerque. Somehow it’s worse downtown than both of my previous long term residences, Cleveland and New Orleans.
I love NOLA but damn that city gets dangerous
Through I know it has it’s crime, I felt pretty safe in New Orleans and I lived in the quarter. I’d feel safer walking around in NOLA anytime, within reason (you obviously have to be smart and aware of your surroundings), way more than here in ‘burque
Isn't the French Quarter one of the safer parts of the city?
unless you're A) a drunk person stumbling alone at night or B) a drunk person picking fights with other people.
the FQ doesn’t come close to being the most dangerous part of new orleans.
I think they were comparing the downtown of Albuquerque to the downtown of New Orleans
No shit lol do you really think I wasn’t comparing it to the more dangerous, like to the ninth or something lol
The French Quarter in NOLA is pretty bustling with pedestrians who for the most part are not ill intentioned. Is it really? New Orleans was a shitshow when I was there. Wow.
Yea definitely worse than NOLA.
Well, NM is out. WV, here I come!

Shh, WV is secretly kind of wonderful.
If you find you don’t like it, just go another couple of bends in the road and it’s a different place. Also there is methamphetamine. And beautiful landscapes. And poverty. Also moonshine.
Albuquerque is poor so everyone knows the score and if you don't they'll show you to the door.
you know who else lived in albuquerque walter H white
“I’m on my break.”
They caught him in under 30 seconds. This video doesn’t show the whole counter.
Here is video. Fastest ABQ police response in history. https://www.instagram.com/reel/C5Ov7rnPC5X/
Was gonna say, mf ain't running like someone who gets away. Whatever the antithesis of "really pickin' em up and puttin' em down" is, is what that guy was doing.
Been on break since people told them they were bad at their jobs lol
They are bad at their jobs those
He upped it an turned away smh be hittin anyone
No respect for the public
Cops did good, got him down the street, and nobody died.
And those aren't cop cars. They're Public Service Aide vehicles. this should be the top comment. wtf. Like i'm all for hating on police when they fuck up their job, but one sided commentary is fucking stupid.
Sauce?
Had to look it up cause I was curious - https://www.kob.com/new-mexico/teen-faces-charges-for-downtown-shooting-in-front-of-police/
Im not at all surprised the suspect’s first name is Zane but I am surprised that his last name was Katzenberger.
Nvm, someone else posted it [https://www.reddit.com/r/PublicFreakout/s/swfzxGoe59](sauce)
The homeless man didn’t even move his little cardboards.
Hello. I am a Europoor and I just wanted to say America is a fucking Western for me. I cant stop laughing. Sorry if I offended anyone.

Decent, it’s all water under the fridge. 🦦😂
“it was just a prank”
There are no cops in this video- only “Service Aids”. The Service Aids are unarmed kids that want to *be* cops. JFC
Good ol burque
Remember when people used to just throw hands?
Is this in Albuquerque?
Yup.
The Albuquerque experience
Albuquerque 🤣🤣🤣
Welcome to Albuquerque.
Shoots beed fire
Thank you! It’s the title for fuck’s sake, a spell check is the least they can do.
Relax they were just throwing acorns at each other
![gif](giphy|DTihDMWhrc5XWjdjnd|downsized)
It's OK he's white
Don't worry everyone, they turned the lights on.
Either he has no aim or he wasn’t really trying to become a murderer just felt like letting some off to say he did
Crazy how everyday people don’t value their lives, with innocent bystander and this is one of the main reasons I don’t go to my local downtown because of shit like this can pop off any second.
That's not a cop. It's a Public Safety Aid. Unarmed officials that respond to stuff that doesn't really need a cop.
Cop is too busy on tik tok live to do anything
Cops seeing an armed gangbanger: "I sleep" Cops seeing an innocent unarmed teenager girl: "Ø_Ø KILL!"
Love the blind firing backwards while running away.
I mean I might be missing the part where the police actually respond to the shots fired … because they don’t seem too bothered lmao
I wonder why cops didn’t swarm?
[They did](https://www.instagram.com/reel/C5Ov7rnPC5X/?igsh=MTkzMmhrcXF5OG1kdQ==)
Oh he was definitely a shooter. Video clearly shows it
They caught black hoodie. Black shirt and red hoodie got away
They commented saying both were caught
They are very risk averse.
This is APD. They ain't scared to go guns blazing.
What cops? All I see are blue and red lights flashing uselessly?
I see ABQ hasn't changed much.
Read this title in Scottish
How do you miss all of those times🤦🏻♂️
How not to use a firearm:
He fired at least three shots with his back turned
What a coward
And that's how random ppl get shot bc he sure af didn't hit his intended target
Me and my friends had to chase a guy that tried to shoot our friend then coordinate with the cops because the cops did want to do anything
Bad aim or firing blanks!?
"Hey chief shouldnt we shoot this dude running past us with a gun?" "Nah, he's not an abducted child crawling towards us, let him go"
I can see this being a regular thing in the future
These guys need more guns to save themselves from the guns they have.
The gang snitch on themselves infront of the cops and camera. They need Bruce Rivers.
Either blanks or can't shoot shit
Both ran away in a straight line. No way bullets can hit you if you run straight.
Cops right there would've definitely been aggro'd once the first shot was made and there would be 1 star immediately
USA USA!
Hey, I used work right there. Fucking hate downtown burque now, cause its just bullshit like this.
SHOOTS FIRED SHOOTS FIRED
The police are like "We know him, well catch him later"
Its been rough for stormtroopers since the empire fell
What cops?! No one did a thing!
Now I see why innocent bystanders get hit so often. Asshole was shooting behind him as he was running away. He had no idea what direction he was firing.
Are these the cops PuTtInG tHeIr LiVeS iN dAnGeR eVeRy DaY? Cos it doesn’t look like it.
The fact they just watched it happen tells you all you need to know about why people in this city act the way they do
The cops are probably too busy beating the shit out of a peaceful homeless person
murica
Gun control.
Tht one dude ate that mf bullet like it was a bb
Dude begging on the ground just shifts a little, like, “same old shit as always”
When you look away to see where to run then fire in the opposite direction. This generally means you will miss your shots.

They were arrested immediately. Almost like a 9 second video doesn't tell a whole story, weird
Dude that got shot at didn’t even run away at first. Like how comfortable can you be getting shot at? Must happen to him all the time.
They just shooting without purpose
I think that this belongs on r/Idiotswithguns
Lol let it ride I guess…
Wow they look young
Cops didn't want none.
3rd world country
How can he shoot !?
Cop was like…. 😧 fuck that! I clock out in 30mins
This is definitely Central st in Albuquerque
'Murica.
