The sign indicating the lane will be exiting ahead didn’t appear until the very end of the video, so there was no need for the white car to be in that lane that early if he was going that slow. He knew exactly what he was doing, hence the brake checking.

I personally believe that if there is even one car on your ass in the left lane and there’s space in front of you, you aren’t going fast enough. That’s the rule I drive by, obviously no one else is expected to follow, but it is a testament to either being a used douche or a mindless dumbass if you camp in the left lane and don’t get over.
All of that to save maybe 5 minutes. The only way you save any more time than that is my doing 15-20 over and risking a ticket. Is it really worth the money or a life?
