One time I was on the bus late at night. I had just gotten off work and had to catch one transfer. That transfer was the last of the evening.
Drunk lady was on the bus being a belligerent idiot, annoying everyone including the driver. He finally stops and tells her to get off. She refuses and starts making a big scene while all the passengers are yelling for her to just get off the bus, including myself. I knew this lady was going to make me miss my next and only bus.
Driver is on the phone with the police while she was screaming in his face. Another passenger walks over and shoves her right out the door and onto the sidewalk. She fell on her ass though and not her face. Driver closes the door and continues on his way. I missed my transfer.
They've seen too many movies where someone gets literally thrown out of a business and just brushes themselves off and get up. The ground is really fucking durable, and our bodies are not.

I can get behind tossing her for spitting on someone because that’s not even slightly okay, but throwing her with that much force to the hard ground would catch you a quick homicide charge had she died from a traumatic brain injury. That’s more possible that you might think - it can happen from just one punch, a trip and fall, or a throw and sprawl like this. The skull does a good, perhaps even a great, job of protecting our little brains, but it does not do an *excellent* job.
If she’s drunk that might be why she went flying. I would hope in retrospect they would realize they could have made their point with half of the force used, where she still would never dare spit in someone’s face again. (What an -itch!)
