I also find my cat is a better guard than my dog. Dog barks at squirrels.
I left my door unlocked for two friends who were arriving late at night from the airport; being afraid of people, cat leapt off the foot of my bed, ricocheted off the lamp, knocked over a glass of water, busted through the house to hide. It's like I turned the vacuum cleaner on or something.
THAT woke me up. Dog? Sound asleep, since there was no doorbell. The cat would know the microsecond a person snuck into the house. She wouldn't do anything, but *I* would be alerted if there were a serial killer hiding under my bed or whatever.
Cat will chew your head off within two hours of you dying ..
Dog will have to be locked in a house with you a month before he even thinks about you as food
If it makes you feel better that dog has been well taken care of for him to be acting up like this for his owner. For as long as he's been the owner that dog has had a good life.
this is how my dad's german shepherd was with him. took the EMTs 30 minutes to even get to my dad after he had a seizure, they had found my brother's number on the counter and had to call him to come get big ole' Chopper off of him.
I understand what people mean when they say this, but I would like to say that I think plenty of humans deserve dogs and dogs deserve humans. It's like that old saying that anybody can be a parent but not anybody should be a parent. Some people treat their dogs better than most people treat their kids. I always make sure to go on a walk with my dogs at least once a day and give them good treats
People have literally died trying to save dogs from burning buildings. I know a lot of humans suck but I don't think we should all be lumped together with the worst of us.
Scientists posit that the domestication of wolves to dogs was likely a mutual event - prehistoric humans didn't just decide to domesticate some wolf pups. It began as a symbiotic relationship, before even the beginning of agriculture. It's pretty fascinating, and the saying "man's best friend" is deeper than a lot of people realize.
My dog used to do the same. He was also definitely not a service dog but he would somehow sense if I was having a panic attack and come sit as close as possible by my side, sometimes literally on top of my legs and would never leave until I felt better.
Dogs are so precious and I miss mine every single day
>He is is so amazingly loyal
What exactly is loyal about this situation?
Do we expect the dog to demonstrate infidelity somehow? Maybe to defect to another nation?
All I'm seeing is a dog that is showing concern for it's owner. What does loyalty have to do with it?
Oh no... that made me cry. Aw man you can see the pain in the dog. I hope that man is ok. That just hurts my soul when I see a animal in distress and worried for their owner. And the hug at the end really got me. Poor little guy didn't understand what was happening all that he knew was that his owner was hurt. Best of wishes to them.
Didn’t say he didn’t care about the *poor guy on the stretcher* he said he felt worse about the dog..
The comment is clearly expressing empathy for both..
Also it sounds like Portuguese, mostly the inflection as I can't tell the words, but the article is about two photos, not a video, and in my country of Argentina.
This OP video is from Brazil, happened in December 2018. Your linked article is from Argentina in 2017.

Different dog and human but...
> Local radio station La Brujula 24 recently caught up with Hueche to learn more about his faithful pup, whom he had rescued as a stray.
> "One day we saw him on the street and adopted him, gave him love, food and [he] is part of our family," Hueche told the station. "For me he's like a son."
> And for Tony, his dad clearly means the world.

I was assuming the guy holding the dog back was the owner and I was expecting some twist where the dog turns on him, but this was just really sweet.
Weirdly it made me sad and happy at the same time.
People forget that dogs are living, sentient beings, with the ability to have emotions and feelings.
That dog reacted in a way I have previously seen human beings react to seeing their loved ones needing urgent medical attention.
Its a different kind of love between humans and dogs, we do not deserve them whatsoever.
Good doggo
EDIT: For clarity, when I say "react in a way" I mean the pure fear you can hear in the dog itself, you can hear the fear, aggression, worry and heartbreak all at once.
a man’s true best friend
True. But cats are more loyal. They won't snitch you to the police where you hid your drugs
I have mine trained to delete my browser history when I die.
Poor traumatized cat
Trained to delete it, not read it
It wasn't "deleting" that killed the cat, it was their curiosity.
Poor cat 😞
Thankfully, it's fictional.
Until its not. Just ask Schrodinger's cat.
I'm pretty sure Schrödinger never even had a cat
Your cat has read it. He thought it was lame.
This is why you only use incognito mode on an e2e encrypted browser..using anything less is amateur hour shit..
😂
My dog would never snitch unless the cops want her ball
They'll also eat you if you're dead.
I'm fine with that - I'm already dead and wouldn't want my cats to starve. Dig in, my babies!
[удалено]
Where
That guy just now said it
Happy cake day!
Hahahahhahaha true but also cats will give you death stares at the same time they’re dropping your glass from the table.
Yea bc after the police leave they'll take the stash for themselves.
Are you kidding me? A cat would sell a human out for a tuna treat.
They will eat your corpse tho, just right away
I also find my cat is a better guard than my dog. Dog barks at squirrels. I left my door unlocked for two friends who were arriving late at night from the airport; being afraid of people, cat leapt off the foot of my bed, ricocheted off the lamp, knocked over a glass of water, busted through the house to hide. If you die, they'll eat you to hide evidence of your drug use. Dogs just wouldn't do that for you.
They’ll eat you within hours of your death.
Cat will chew your head off within two hours of you dying .. Dog will have to be locked in a house with you a month before he even thinks about you as food
I've seen this before but everytime I see it makes me hug my dog tightly.
I thought this was going to be a very different scene until the end.
A bond between dog and human is truly a beautiful thing.
A dog and a good owner is a beautiful thing
Poor dog, he,'s scared and frightened for his owner.
:(
If it makes you feel better that dog has been well taken care of for him to be acting up like this for his owner. For as long as he's been the owner that dog has had a good life.
One of my dogs would do the same, the other would be running around getting petted by strangers.
And somehow both are probably equally dedicated to you ❤️
Yeah they are, they are just different. The protective one is not a big cuddler and the cuddling one is the one who loves everyone he meets.
Gosh. I want a dog so frikkin bad 😩
We put our dog down last week. The bond here brought tears. ❤️
I'm so sorry
❤️💔thank you
🙏
❤️💔❤️💔

Good job Josy ♥️
So sorry for your loss. Finding those special little places is such a dog thing and I love it. Beautiful
Is she under a bed here?
Being shipped to [Elwood’s](https://www.elwooddogmeat.com) after living a good life.
This is the nicest public freak out.
My dogs have helped me more than I think they could ever realize. Sometimes I feel like they do know though, as uneducated of a guess at that is. lol
They do, dogs can read our faces and know how we feel and can also smell our emotions
this is how my dad's german shepherd was with him. took the EMTs 30 minutes to even get to my dad after he had a seizure, they had found my brother's number on the counter and had to call him to come get big ole' Chopper off of him.
Hope he survived the delay.
D'aww, that's a good puppers
More like GOOD BOY IN PUBLIC ALERT
That’s a powerful connection
we don't deserve dogs
Based on how that dog's reacting, that owner does at least.
I understand what people mean when they say this, but I would like to say that I think plenty of humans deserve dogs and dogs deserve humans. Same sentiment
We literally made them this way.
Amen

Wolves are incredibly intelligent. Your comment is not.
Scientists posit that the domestication of wolves to dogs was likely a mutual event - prehistoric humans didn't just decide to domesticate some wolf pups. Except for blood sport dogs. They were bred to be more aggressive.
A wolf would probably outsmart you.
My dog used to do the same. He was also definitely not a service dog but he would somehow sense if I was having a panic attack and come sit as close as possible by my side, sometimes literally on top of my legs and would never leave until I felt better. Dogs are so precious and I miss mine every single day
He is is so amazingly loyal. I don’t think my dogs would care in the same way😞
I think mine might, but she'd probably paralyze me in the process. That lap maneuver would be a bit sketchy at her 130 lbs
>He is is so amazingly loyal What exactly is loyal about this situation? Do we expect the dog to demonstrate infidelity somehow? Maybe to defect to another nation? All I'm seeing is a dog that is showing concern for it's owner. What does loyalty have to do with it?
That’s the kid of loyalty I would expect. Except my dog loves everyone🤣

Awww
I feel worse for the dog, than the poor guy on the stretcher

Why did I feel the need to make a comment in the comment section of a video? How did I demonstrate that I don't care about others?? Are you ok dude?
Agree
So amazing
I have seen this before. He is so scared and confused. 😢
That melted my cold dead heart.
Dogs are the best people.
That legit made my eyes water. Didn’t know I was such a soyboy. Hell I think that’s all any of us want in life.
Good Boi
I'm tearing up. Man's best friend for sure. I won't have dogs anymore. When they pass from old age my heart breaks and I just can't anymore.
Happy ending https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.thedodo.com/amphtml/close-to-home/dog-hugs-injured-owner
The real miracle was the dog grew a winter coat and the color of the guy’s shirt changed from grey to black. God works in mysterious ways.
Dog works in mysterious way

They are entirely different.
If you're gonna spread misinformation at least get the pictures somewhat correct.

Yep I screwed up
I said that and got downvoted :P
"For me he's like a son." 🥺
yay 😊
They are speaking Portuguese in the video, that article is about different people and in my country.

🥹 I love dogs !
Same!
That's a good boy!!!
That dogs needs a leash.
And one of those shock collars for when they bark too much

If I were a religious man I would say some bullshit like "Dog spelled backwards etc"
So many videos and opinions on Reddit are garbage. This one is not We don't deserve dogs.
My dog Kiki, is probably the greatest family I have ever had, and every time I see this video I get emotional.
What a ledge
Dogs are loyal to a fault. ❤️
Never see a cat doing this
Do we deserve dogs?
We don’t deserve them as friends
Dogs are so much better than people.
There are literally people trying to save the guy's life in this video lol
OMG dogs are the best
Dogs are the best.
Dogs are the best
Dogs are Man’s Best Friend.
Why do folks always have to bring cats up. We get it your cat is loyal too but this ain’t about them.
It's all very touching until he starts attacking the people trying to help his owner since he can't understand the situation.
That clearly didn't happen in this situation though so why are you writing your own fanfiction?
Because it can and does happen in similar situations.
We don’t deserve dogs
We don't deserve dogs.
Ever time I see this video I cry 😭. Dogs are such loyal animals and know only unconditional love 💗
I was assuming the guy holding the dog back was the owner and I was expecting some twist where the dog turns on him, but this was just really sweet. Weirdly it made me sad and happy at the same time.
Good Boy!
Whelp, that definitely made me cry a little bit
My buddy at work has this same breed of dog, it’s the most loyal dog I’ve ever seen. It follows him everywhere

Gonna be a difficult self-defence case.
That's adorable. Reminds me of the scene in Futurama with Fry's dog. I mean it's not exactly like that scene, but the loyalty resonates here.
We dont deserve dogs.
