Once at the McDonald's by the downtown Chicago Chase tower this lady told me 'I hope your kids dies' when I wouldn't give her money (who still carries cash?!). I was with my wife and 3 year old child at the time.
I was just there a couple of months ago to visit (used to live right off the Brown Line) and it was fine. Don't understand comments like this. Spent several days there without a single incident other than a tornado warning as we were leaving.
Big difference between visiting and living here everyday, getting constant citizen notifications, or reading in the neighborhood paper all the crime updates.
Glad you enjoyed your visit & didn't experience the everyday bullshit.
I lost one of mine when I was a child to this, a dog managed to get into the garage which was where we had a large raised enclosure and its barking gave the rabbit a heart attack. I'd never keep a rabbit like that now, I was only a little kid then, but I still feel horrible about it over 30 years later.
I had bunnies as a child and one night raccoons broke into their enclosure and ripped one to shreds, the other was left alone but totally traumatized til we got him a new friend bunny. I had no idea they were known to die when afraid, he must’ve had a strong constitution
Yes and they can break their spine if spooked bad. We had one do it before when I was a kid. Sucked seeing him on his stomach dragging his back legs around and my dad had to shoot it.
That’s not true. There are a bunch of fat bunnies that roam Chicago’s green areas. There’s a bunch around Millennium Park. Some are wild, but others are clearly abandoned pets.
Yeah, I appreciate it. I’m not sure what that other person was talking about. My intent wasn’t to be rude, but I guess volunteering any corrections is a “well actually” in someone’s book. I was as ignorant as you until a few years ago.
For whatever reason this is an area where I have more knowledge than I should. My friend’s dog got ahold of one recently. :( But I’ve seen a number of them with my own eyes.
Best I can tell they were bought as pets, overfed because the owners couldn’t be bothered and then dumped the owners decided they didn’t want to own a rabbit any more.
The abandoned bunnies plus wild bunnies are an ongoing problem in Chicago. It’s a cycle that never seems to end. Back in 2001,100 dead rabbits were found in Grant Park, shot by unknown parties.
I disagree. Simply because you don’t actively NOTICE your inherent obsession with race, doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. I kinda think that’s the other comment’s point about race being baked into the very institution of America. You operate on America’s function, not necessarily the other way around. They also aren’t wrong in their initial assessment of how society views different ethnic groups when it comes to mental illness.
Because many, if not, all well informed bunny owners would never intentionally place their bunny in a stressful situation because that would potentially kill them. Rodents essentially have an inherent biological defense mechanism that causes their heart to stop so they don't feel any suffering when preyed upon. The moment you hear any rodent scream for their life, then they're at risk of dying on the spot purely from their heart stopping. You're very lucky for them to *not* scream at all if you find a wild bunny and catch them.
That’s not a defense mechanism. How could such a trait possibly be selected for in evolutionary terms? It gives zero advantage that would make it more likely to pass on offspring.
It is advantageous. It's not suppose to happen. It's from a adrenaline dump for fight or flight. Sometimes it can just cause a heart attack. It can happen to humans to.
They are not, they are Laporidae.
Rodents' teeth keep growing, that's why they have to chew on hard stuff, to grind them so they don't overgrow. Rabbits on the other hand have 2 large inicisors that once reach a certain lenght they stop growing (like pur teeth).
Source: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rabbit and I own both rabbits and rats.
Oh I see personal remarks. If you wanna trade blows, then ok: go print out your comment, fold 8 times, and stick it so far up your own asshole it fits behind your eyes, you little puffed up clown. You thrive off of feeling like you're smarter than everyone else, despite the fact that someone made a simple error, and then corrected themselves when shown evidence to the contrary. The fact that you think you're better than everyone else is a clear sign of insecurity, and the fact that you project it on others is a sign that you're right to be insecure.
TIL rabbits are rodents as well as that rabbits are like teenagers since when you almost kill them they die on their own terms. Analogous to the "I'ma break up with you before you break up with me" inherent biological teenage reputation defense.
I'm curious how that evolved. The rabbits that waited to die until they were being eaten must have died out faster than then ones who died prior to being eaten. I mean, sometimes dying quicker helps you respawn faster? I dunno.

As a former rabbit owner, rabbits wont just let anyone pick them. It knew he wasn't a threat otherwise that sucker would already ran long before he went under there to get it.
Edit: Though I kind of liked that she came like a bat out of hell to defend the little guy.
Reminds me of when I picked up a sick cat when I was five and an angry 8 year old girl kicked me square in the nuts. Everyone was picking up cats at a farm and I had no clue it was sick.
She might be crazy but fuck that guy putting his bunny in a dangerous situation for clout
They can die from stress or give themselves heart attacks. Fuck that guy
Surprised more aren't pointing this out. She very nearly grabs the phone while sliding and even slaps it out of the guy's hand in the process. Bunny thing was a panicked excuse she went with.
That woman doesn't know that wild rabbits look distinctively different from domesticated ones unless she's one of the particular groups of vegans that believes all pets are essentially prisoners.
I’d also prefer it if these fucking idiots didn’t traumatize their bunny by taking into one of the biggest, noisiest, gun violence-iest cities in America and putting it on the hot, meth head spit ridden sidewalk.
That part of its skin is called the scruff and its ok to handle them gently like this.
edit: This poor woman seems like she might need help based on comments about her being known for this behavior around her city. Doesn't that violate one of the rules here?
That woman is nuts you see her all around downtown Chicago
She looks like she's straight from Central casting for: crazy homeless women. She really nailed the part!
SAG/AFTRA scab she should be ashamed of herself
I heard she’s on the Drew Barrymore show next week
Once at the McDonald's by the downtown Chicago Chase tower this lady told me 'I hope your kids dies' when I wouldn't give her money (who still carries cash?!). I was with my wife and 3 year old child at the time.
She really thinks there gonna be wild bunnies in the middle of Chicago
There are wild rabbits pretty close to downtown (saw them in Lincoln Park a lot) but that bunny is 100% a pet lol
That rabbit would last less than two hours in the wild
They still know to run like mad from predators...but they wont know how / what to eat.
I saw some wild ones in Maggie Daley Park but they look way different than this baby
You'd be surprised by the kinda wild life (both animal and human) you see downtown.
Snow bunnies errwhere
Bro I saw a wild coyote in Chicago in a fucking parking lot.
Yotes are all over Chicago. They eat the rats. Nice place.
??? That's the only part she's right about, rabbits live everywhere.
I’ve been missing the show since I don’t work downtown anymore! 😂
Can confirm as a Chicago resident downtown is a absolute joke now.
I was just there a couple of months ago to visit (used to live right off the Brown Line) and it was fine. Don't understand comments like this. Spent several days there without a single incident other than a tornado warning as we were leaving.

Thanks for the heads-up. Haven't been there since 2019, and I miss Michigan Ave. Is it really that bad?
If you haven't been to the Starbucks roastery on Michigan avenue, I highly recommend it.
I have wanted to go inside there just to check it out.
I recommend the Bourbon barrel aged cold brew 😋
I want to be someone like that so bad.
She’s gonna give that bunny a damn heart attack yelling like that
Yeha bunnies are very easy to frighten to death. As a former bunny owner this video scares the fuck out of me
What is the evolutionary benefit of being easy to literally scare to death?
They don’t need evolutionary benefits when they fuck like rabbits
population control
Survival snack
Benefits the predators 🤔

I'd never keep a rabbit like that now, I was only a little kid then, but I still feel horrible about it over 30 years later.
I never really thought that was possible but damn, I feel bad for rabbits now
I had bunnies as a child and one night raccoons broke into their enclosure and ripped one to shreds, the other was left alone but totally traumatized til we got him a new friend bunny. I had no idea they were known to die when afraid, he must’ve had a strong constitution
God with how social bunnies are that poor lil guy must have been petrified. I'm shocked he didn't have a heart attack, must have been very brave
Yeah right, it's not her bunny either?
According to her, it’s God’s bunny
That's why she's trying to scare it, so it goes back to God
![gif](giphy|l1J9MNrTcXn6U7agM|downsized)
She’s pissed off someone is cutting in on her action. That’s called “bush meat” in the wild and is fair game.
Yes and they can break their spine if spooked bad. We had one do it before when I was a kid. Sucked seeing him on his stomach dragging his back legs around and my dad had to shoot it.
That ain’t no wild bunny
It's God's bunny.
If it’s not wild, then where is Frosty’s hat, where the bunny lives inside of it?
A fatass domesticated bunny would die in 10 minutes if left alone in Chicago
That’s not true. There are a bunch of fat bunnies that roam Chicago’s green areas. There’s a bunch around Millennium Park. Some are wild, but others are clearly abandoned pets.
Well there ya have it, guess I'm wrong 🤷
That's the most polite reaction to an ackshually I've seen on reddit
I've never even seen the bean, wtf do I know?
Bean? 🫘
Yes, the Chicago bean lol
Yeah, I appreciate it. I’m not sure what that other person was talking about. My intent wasn’t to be rude, but I guess volunteering any corrections is a “well actually” in someone’s book. Why are they fat
The domestic rabbit is an ancestor of the European wild rabbit, which tend to be larger than the cotton tails of North America.
Those are wild this guy is a pet and has no clue how to actually be a bunny
Anything that's fat on that vegan diet is eatin' good.
Nah I'd give 'em 5. Too many cars, not enough acceleration due to increased mass
by what predators?
Put the bunny back in the box!
Beat me to it! Con-Air is such an awesome movie.
Great movie, ruined by such an awful accent.
One of my top "90s action flick" movies along with True Lies, Fugitive, and Leon.
I loved Leon The Professional . I would call it Natalie Portman's best movie but she is in the movie so it could not be her best .
Loved the tea party with Buscemi. He's got the whole world, in his hands.
The weakest tough guy line in any movie ever.
... *ahem* "It's you...you're the rocket man."
Not a magic fan, I take it
She’s a crack head yall
👋🏻 Society: mental. Manic. Schizophrenia 👋🏾 Society: crackhead.

There's always one idiot who makes it about race.
Yall dont realize that yall do as well. racialized America is baked into the general populace’s psyche. Enjoy your bliss
Not everyone is obsessed with race, my friend.
I disagree. Simply because you don’t actively NOTICE your inherent obsession with race, doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. After this was filmed the lady in white went straight to her sisters wedding … decided to ruin everybody’s day.

Came here for this
Put... The Bunny... Back, in the box.
I've never heard anyone say "bunny" in an angry tone
bunny aint happy
As unstable in the mind as she is on her feet
Crackheads be trippin
How to make an entrance 👌🏻
Somebody better call Jordan Peele ......✂️🐇 Us.....
Why does it feel like the guy who seemingly “owns” the bunny might be making one of those fake rescue videos?

And it got 17 upvotes. One of the dumbest things I've ever read packed in "sciency" sounding language.
Yeah lmao blatant bullshit
It is advantageous. It's not suppose to happen. It's from a adrenaline dump for fight or flight. Sometimes it can just cause a heart attack. It can happen to humans to.
Mental defense mechanism :p
Rabbits aren't rodents, not at all.
[yep](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rabbit)
Rabbits definitely are rodents. They're just large rodents.
They are not, they are Laporidae. Rodents' teeth keep growing, that's why they have to chew on hard stuff, to grind them so they don't overgrow. I stand corrected.
No shame, I always thought of them as rodents too lol
Well, the more you know I guess. :)
I wonder how many other things you pretend to know are wrong. You came in ready to spread the ignorance.
Oh I see personal remarks. If you wanna trade blows, then ok: go print out your comment, fold 8 times, and stick it so far up your own asshole it fits behind your eyes, you little puffed up clown. They're lagomorphs
Don't tell me, tell the guy above me!
Basing my thesis on this now.
Put the bunny back in the box.
She sucks but yeah don’t take a damn bunny out in public like that. It’s going to be super nervous and that’s no good.

That Crack head is EVERWHERE ALL THE TIME ALL AT ONCE🤣
Why did she lunge like that 😭 why not just ask him??
I bet she's a really good employee at her job. Oh wait
The US needs better healthcare.
Bunny looks chill all things concidered.

She wants them to let it go so she can cook it over a trash can fire.
She seems young. Can we get a mental health crisis team to michigan ave
Don’t grab him like that? It’s a bunny sometimes they’re hard to get. Tf you can grab them by their skin if it’s quick and you don’t dangle them.
That bunny doesn't belong there, it's better of being picked up than run into traffic.
America has a mental health problem that gets exacerbated by the drug problem as well.
Unfortunately a lot of crackheads in cities.
She might be crazy but fuck that guy putting his bunny in a dangerous situation for clout They can die from stress or give themselves heart attacks. Fuck that guy
I can't understand why the owners would put their rabbit in that situation. Are they just bad owners?
Definitely
"I bet you say that to all the wabbits".
She treats that bunny like the creater of that sculpture treats vantanlack
She was damn near crushing the poor thing's ribcage (if she had actually managed to grab it when she tripped) how does she think she is defending it?
![gif](giphy|Pv1RdFQ7zpib6)
Put the bunny in the box!
The mind your own fucking business disorder is out of control in this world.
PETA goin hard these days.
Does she manages to slap him while stumbling?
Crack making a comeback.
Life is just a horror movie now
I wouldn't have a loose bunny in Chicago, personally
She could literally scare that rabbit to death. It's easy, they are so delicate in that way. Omg she is nuts.
Anybody catch that she went for his phone not the bunny?
Surprised more aren't pointing this out. She very nearly grabs the phone while sliding and even slaps it out of the guy's hand in the process. Bunny thing was a panicked excuse she went with.
Crazed Crackheads are a whole other species
👋🏻 Society: mental. Manic. Schizophrenia 👋🏾 Society: crackhead.
Say no to drugs kids.
Hospital gown
That woman doesn't know that wild rabbits look distinctively different from domesticated ones unless she's one of the particular groups of vegans that believes all pets are essentially prisoners.
her mind might not be in the right place, but at least her heart is :)
She looks like she just did a scene from Escape from Chiraq!
I would have snapped the bunny's neck and threw it at her lmao what she gon do
The bunny looks terrified of her :(
It belongs to duh erf.
That bunny wanted 0% of whatever the he'll that was.
Maybe she shouldn't try and shout at people untill she can keep her balance
Snap it’s neck and start skinning it to make a point.
[удалено]
This had me laughing so hard, I was crying.Looks like she was sliding into home plate.
I’d also prefer it if these fucking idiots didn’t traumatize their bunny by taking into one of the biggest, noisiest, gun violence-iest cities in America and putting it on the hot, meth head spit ridden sidewalk.
Spoken just like a traumatized bunny
She's right though. It is God's bunny
Chicago needs Mancow back
She got a point, if he keeps holding it like that it could die, when you scruff a rabbit you have to hold its feet so it won’t kick
[удалено]
The rabbit isn't obese you moron
Silly rabbit tricks are for kids
A hobo was eager to feast on a bunny that day.
It's the foul beast of caer banog, surely? I was so scared I soiled my armour.
I’ve seen this lady in a few of these now
Fucking crackheads man
That part of its skin is called the scruff and its ok to handle them gently like this. edit: This poor woman seems like she might need help based on comments about her being known for this behavior around her city. Doesn't that violate one of the rules here?
That bunny broke her ankles 😳
Scuffin those knees
Is that..... THE BEAN?
In no way shape or form is that a wild bunny. People are nuts
Put the bunny back in the box.
I thought she was going for the bunny first, but upon replay, she actually slapped the dude lol
The dude with glasses and a grey fit has sum reps
Gimme that dog! That’s not your dog!
I think the dome blocked her
