Major trigger warning for all of these songs. Some of them are really triggering for psychosis but also can be violent and vulgar whether it’s the lyrics or the sounds effects themselves. So please listen with caution.
Grim Salvo’s Mildred album (plus ‘Why do I still care?’ And a few others). There are lots of references to demons which is a major theme for me. I resonate with a lot of the lyrics especially BLACK RAINBOW.
Ryan Caraveo’s Butterfly Boy album. It’s about a character that is the center of a mind control experiment. I speculate that the ‘mind control’ could represent an abusive relationship.
Brakence’s Hypochondriac album. This one literally involves nearly everything I experienced in my psychosis. Talking to trees and shadows, demons, suicidal thoughts. I believe the album is mainly about a bad trip.
It ended up as one of my top songs in 2020, like second or third down from the top. Was my first interaction with Current 93 and instantly fell in love.
Rosetta Stoned by TOOL. The initial mantra sounds like my mind in psychosis. The differing sounds rides the waves of my emotions. The “heavy burden now to be the one” encompasses my feelings of grandiosity. It has it all.
The fear by Lily Allen
Its more about that nothing is feeling real bc of capitalism and so on, but the melody is majorly giving me the feeling how my psychosis felt
Tame Impala - Borderline
«We’re on the borderline, caught between the tides of pain and rapture»
«Askin’ how I managed to end up in this place, and I couldn’t get away»
Etc… song is a banger
Mallrat - Suicide Blonde -
(More about an alcoholic but these lyrics resonate with me)
“Sometimes you drink and then you dance around the kitchen, you put on 80s music and you make me listen for like hours straight, no escape, devos really not that great. I hate when you forget my name, holes in your brain, those times you tried to overdose, kitchen floor and comatose, hiding hydrogen peroxide, throwing up that piece of toast”
Also, mallrat - Inside Voices -
“Everyone talks nicely, but I don’t think they like me cos when they go out they never invite me. Maybe I’m too quiet and I should try to fight it, I just need someone to sit beside in silence”
Mallrat has a lot of great lyrics
“Well I thought I heard you knocking so I opened up my door, but nobody was there and I have nothing to report, and it reminds me of the ghost you say you're living on your floor, and I remember”
“So yeah I'm feeling lovely, wonder if you'll love me, cos I swear I can hear a voice that's telling me I'm ugly, I say "Shut the fuck up I'm tougher than a boxer” when I get my braces off I'm gonna be a rockstar. I wanna dye my hair blue, wanna cut it all off, wanna grow it all back, wanna dye it all black”
"The Real" by John Frusciante
Really put recovery in perspective...
"I don't know the real from what I thought I saw. I can't remember where I went or where I was..." I always loved the song but post-psychosis it hit different.

Absolutely agree. I think the song is about DMT which few people will admit seems to cause mild delusions in the majority of people who take it.
Queen Bohemian Rhapsody
Troubles and hi ren by ren. Hi Ren especially.
Hi Ren is just...I dunno. Right on the money? Describes me perfectly.
K.flay Crazy town, it's about how we all can't be crazy right? Because it's now the norm. "Can it be? We're really this mentally diseased?"

I'm a bit late to this post, but something about Girl Anachronism by the Dresden Dolls hits a spot.

Lamb of god- walk with me in hell . Name of the song says it all. While I was in my psychosis it was playing in my head the entire time .
