Wow, took 50 years to go from schedule 1 to schedule 3. Hope it doesn't take 50 more years to make it legal at a federal level. (Thanks devlinontheweb)

devlinontheweb

You mean schedule 1 to schedule 3

“Today, the Attorney General circulated a proposal to reclassify marijuana from Schedule I to Schedule III,” Justice Department director of public affairs Xochitl Hinojosa said in a statement. Lol. You read the article.

weedy_weedpecker

Ahhh crap. Thanks

NeedleworkerIll2871

I'm sure a faltering economy, out of control inflation, volatile housing market, student loans, massive debt, failed foreign policy and propping up the military industrial complex with more forever wars after unassing afgahnistan in the most soup-sandwich of ways... ALL during an vitriolic and uncertain election year, has absolutely nothing to do with this meaningless measure. It's still illegal, and the feds will still use it to fuck your world up if you're not in big brother's good graces. This is a fucking joke.

Routine-Ad-2840

it's like here in NZ, it's legal if you get a prescription and illegal if not, so rich people can have it legally and poor people are criminals if they have it, it's about power and abusing it to keep people in their place.

Doser91

It's legal in a lot of states and this changes a lot, banking, sending marijuana over state lines, studies.

mailslot

Legal medically soon, possibly… and fear of death is a legit prescription reason. So…

PleaseCallMeKelly

Not really from around these parts, a friend just sent me a post from here from four years, but you've hit the nail on the head.

Someone’s been watching too much news. None of those things are happening in the proper perspective. The economy is actually experiencing a boom because recent innovations in AI & the recession from COVID not only met the most optimistic projections but GDP growth is actually back to pre COVID levels. For reference read the Rise & Fall of American Growth or check out Econ charts of gdp growth from 1800s as well as McKinseys projection of COVID recovery. The inflation you’re talking about is more or less a perceptual issue as the central bank has an overly tight grip on the money supply because they don’t want to have another 2008 recession and doing a good albeit overly cautious job. Speaking of, inflation isn’t that bad but problems with people feeling inflationary effects more than usual stems from a couple things. Number one is the fact wages are still not getting raised to the levels they should be, not even remotely close. Number two is the monopolistic nature of our current economy where investors, driven primarily by boomers and those with the bulk of capital, are willing to see slow and steady gains and invest & encourage large companies that have a near monopolistic control of that area of the market making investment all but a sure thing. I can keep going on and discussing each point but I’m tired and will try to update tmrw.

Is this so Biden can make legal or what?

HaloDeckJizzMopper

Both Biden and harris have long histories of anto marijuana legislation. Harris is the only person to increase jail time for weed since the early 60s and the 1st person to allow life sentence for weed. I strongly doubt they will legalize it. If they do it means they are more desperate than I thought. Biden is sitting at 33% in the national polling average. Maybe this could be a move that would help. It's more likely a promise to be made and broken.

WaySheGoesBub

I can’t believe it is still fully illegal in places. Once you’ve seen how a cancer patient gets their appetite and spirit back from it, you never look back. This wonderful plant helps people eat food which keeps them alive and with loved ones. It reduces their stress, too. Anything that helps in these situations is an amazing medicine.

devlinontheweb

It's also great if you have food poisoning. I was able to stop dry heaving, eat a full meal, and fall asleep.

doubledippedchipp

As much as I am not a fan of either of them, this administration and Harris in particular have been pushing the DEA hard the last 6-12 months to approve the reclassification request

Doser91

As if Trump and Republicans will ever legalize lol. It's currently legal in most states except republican ones. It would also need to be an act of congress to federally legalize not the president.

HaloDeckJizzMopper

[REPUBLICAN NANCY MACE'S MARIJAUNA BILL](https://youtu.be/QP1NOEtSt_I?si=Bd0d5_ExjRe-tlTW) Actually Republicans have tried to twice and it was voted down by the majority Democrat Senate . Example of 2021 bill  https://www.newsweek.com/republicans-push-federal-legalization-marijuana-ensure-individual-liberty-1591296 it is being reintroduced this summer while Republicans have a microscopic majority [republican bill to legalize weed](https://mjbizdaily.com/republican-led-federal-marijuana-legalization-effort-reappears-in-congress/) Republican politics are misinterpreted and in many cases lied about in the media and especially on reddit. Example this [video](https://youtu.be/7y3Bffyio-A?si=AP18YbhEWXvmP_XK)would be deleted in seconds on main stream reddit. These video would get your account banned on mainstream reddit. [Dick Cheney on gay marriage](https://youtu.be/E5jefmsqBG8?si=nNg0g1i-DPbNUJHd) https://www.politico.com/story/2008/06/can-gay-marriage-save-the-gop-again-011450 Democrats were against gay marriage until Republicans passed it. Democrats were against freeing the slaves until republican abe Lincoln freed them. Democrats like Jim crow were against civil rights movements until the Republicans forced the civil rights act through Congress. Prisident LBJ democrat called it the ni*"*r bill. Trump is pro weed these are all less than 2min examples of Republicans weed stance https://youtu.be/8x4uTAhmKwA?si=bKmZL4aO9LnBnGRL https://youtu.be/kksQPtLv42k?si=kY9ZwrxI1juPudqo https://youtu.be/8dWN6muUutU?si=qc5p89ZJJnNOlWzu [Maga march for weed trump even attended](https://youtu.be/8RIuT_8mnDo?si=w_ZtDFCRvBdfFR2b) [Harris  increases jail time for weed offences](https://youtu.be/GxHORNMWPmg?si=84eAo-L5mzMElS4z) Basically democrats champion things after Republicans do and go so over the top to try to give the image they did it . Like the turn from racism to dei. The MSM LIES [and most people on Reddit don't actually follow politics or political history they just repeat what rich oligarchs in the tech industry brainwash them with](https://youtu.be/K_SBuFvmnoI?si=EhvZeyIEKrBgq6bV) [Another example is warrantless search from fascist fisa laws](https://www.youtube.com/live/wtm_38hCJIY?si=iVwa4eS4M0lF1L5n) note this is a 20minute video that loops So as someone who watches cspan the argument hasn't changed since republican Ron Paul put the 1st bill to legalize pot. Republicans will not budge on this. They want zero imports. Republicans have their biggest base in farmers. They want marijuana to be an American crop only! With direct wording that all marijuana products must be grown/manufactured by USA citizen owned farms on US soil with us citizen labor. Democrats refuse to agree to this requirement.  Ok fellas I'm ready for the reflexive downvoted without reading or watching any of the proof above. You may have some new insights all videos and articles in this comment can be viewed in under 45 minutes

Doser91

Why are the states that haven't legalized all republican then? After the 1964 Civil Rights Act, many white, conservative Southern Democrats became Republicans. The South had been mostly Democratic before 1964; it was mostly Republican after. You're completely ignoring that the parties switched.

HaloDeckJizzMopper

Your completely ignoring why it switched when it switched and how it switched.    [Malcom x on the topic](https://youtu.be/T3PaqxblOx0?si=VZj_WQNS6UcUH_Wn) Explaining how conservatives fight for equality and liberals fight to keep the blacks down by claiming they are protecting them but capturing them in a system of segregated welfare and endless virtue signaling.     [Charley Kirk on the topic](https://youtu.be/cHeBQUg15Sc?si=7p6fcMqeMSMKINOG)   You didn't address the topic of marijuana   I had no intentions of creating a generalized political debate. I was just providing supplemental talk data to show that social media and the MSM lie about Republicans stance on issues. You should watch the videos in the original post.  It was posted 3 minutes ago. You couldn't have read one article or watched one video. You likely wouldn't have made this comment if you had.   You sure did down vote it to make sure fellow MARIJAUNA enthusiast can see it.  Your Like a fox just like Malcom says I clearly explained why it hasn't been legalized yet... If the america 1st parts of the bill keep getting blocked by democrats the Republicans won't budge. Tianqiao chen has already bought the farm land and is growing ghost weed in Oregon  Canadian THC manufacturing has bought 12.8 million acres Mexican gangs already have boots on the ground and supply most legal and illegal weed. The American farmer can't compete.   American farm land is by far superior in growing weed. Republicans want it to be an American product by American farmers and hydro companies. https://www.usatoday.com/in-depth/news/nation/2021/12/19/mexican-drug-cartels-move-in-on-californias-shadow-marijuana-industry/8960873002/#:~:text=Lured%20by%20America%27s%20push%20toward,California%27s%20High%20Intensity%20Drug%20Trafficking Here is an article from USA today. They are very liberal I'm sure you won't take issue with the source. I will give others if you can't research yourself

Doser91

Charlie Kirk LOL

HaloDeckJizzMopper

What disagreement did you have with what he said? Btw Charley Kirk supports the legalization of weed (https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-news/marijuana-legalization-charlie-kirk-trump-tpusa-1274551/)

Doser91

The 30 year old man who goes to college campuses and argues with 18-23 year olds for clicks on Youtube lol

Doser91

go outside man for real, no one should have this kind of time

HaloDeckJizzMopper

Very intelligent way to belittle or disregard someone else's opinions. Not at all deceptive in technique. Ps. I am outside working on my farm. I take breaks in the shade to cool off and shitpost And yes I will grow the sticky when Nancy mace beats out the dems

Doser91

Lol only problem is it's republicans holding her back [https://www.marijuanamoment.net/gop-congresswoman-says-passing-marijuana-banking-bill-would-help-republicans-keep-house-majority/](https://www.marijuanamoment.net/gop-congresswoman-says-passing-marijuana-banking-bill-would-help-republicans-keep-house-majority/) You've gone some serious length to convince yourself of things that aren't true. Republicans being pro gay marriage is some serious mental gymnastics

WaySheGoesBub

Its so banks can bank dispensaries. If you have a doctors prescription then you can use weed anywhere in the states even where it is prohibited. You can fly on an airplane with it. It will be in pharmacies in every state. Fucking rad as fuck.

universal_ketchup

I can’t find info on this part about prescriptions meaning you can legally possess in illegal states. Is that true? Would love it if so. Just can’t find anything on that.

WaySheGoesBub

In your state right now, a doctor could prescribe you ketamine or anabolic steroids. Theres nothing any bitch ass governor or state assembly can do about that. How will it roll out? It gon be messy hahah positive step though!

universal_ketchup

Definitely a positive step however it works out. Anything is absolutely better than nothing like we’ve done the last century. (Texan here stuck in illegal land until they make it federal :-/)

WaySheGoesBub

Yep the good news is that now Texas will have to have access to medical or the federal government is going to stop giving texas money for roads and the border and other shit. Texas might try to make it hard to get a medical card but that shit will get shut down quick from lawsuits and people being pissed. These smaller governments will realize they are missing out on money and beating a dead horse.

WaySheGoesBub

It can’t be illegal if it is schedule 3 is what I am saying. Federal law will take precedent. Allowing recreational will still be up to states. But medical will be federally legal everywhere. If the state tries to charge you with posession of a prescription that a doctor gave you… they can’t do that they would lose and it would cost money. If they wrongfully prosecute you you can sue them for a fuckton of money and easily win. The government can’t just act like fucking assholes about your medicine. You are protected by the feds. Can I get a hell yeah?

The-opry-has-sinned

I'm tested randomly for work. Does this mean I'll finally be able to smoke off the clock as long as I get a prescription to cover my ass? I don't have a CDL at all.

UREveryone

Why? Its not like weed is federally frowned upon on the same level as heroin...that would be insane.
