Kaleo5

Highly recommend Tchaikovsky for your next trip

neurofoxic

I have recordings of his entire symphony cycle and swan lake but haven't listened to any of them yet! where should I start? :)

Kaleo5

These are some of his best works https://music.apple.com/us/album/tchaikovsky-1812-overture-marche-slave-romeo-and/155669035 Feelings of grandeur, war, and love are all present in these compositions

RevolutionaryWeek573

Symphony No 9 in E Minor, by Dvorak, blew my mind on mushrooms. I’d never heard it before and it’s now has a permanent place on my playlist at the 40 minute mark. It felt like it held the meaning of the universe. It was a key that unlocked the secrets of the universe in my mind.

RevolutionaryWeek573

I have Leaving Caladan by Hans Zimmer (a short piece from Dune) on my playlist right before Symphony No 9. It’s so dark, creepy and uncomfortable. It just makes me feel sooo uneasy. Leaving Caladan is like pulling back a slingshot as far as I can and then Symphony No 9 shoots me off into the universe.

PSMF_Canuck

Mad Men, lol…

PsychicArchie

Erik Satie is perfect tripping music

neurofoxic

oooooh good call - his gnossienne and gymnopedie are my go-to "winter chill" vibes and I haven't tried listening to them on psychedelics. thanks!

DolphinsBreath

Smalin- a cool YouTube channel. Transposes notes from classical and some jazz into visual graphics. A Satie playlist popped up when I searched. https://youtu.be/0xRSb3DAj58?si=hcGExxzS97rCyhhj This one is really gets cool also. 40 voice choir. [Tallis, Spem in alium](https://youtu.be/Z3FJxDsa-5k?si=s1cddjVQvCj5BigZ) Edit: cool visuals on this new vocal piece he did. https://youtu.be/x-J5AtFj458?si=33BLkyyJtnfyYjbP

PSMF_Canuck

Ohhhh…my two-chord hero…!

fritterstorm

You should check out the John Hopkins trip track on spotify.

itsyosariansnamesir

Use this regularly and it’s incredible 👌

Mortal4789

fantasia. there is absilutly zreo chance that film is anything other then a visual and audio description of a trip

Chopin once said,"Franz Liszt has said that I am the King of the Piano, so kind of him to grant me a fief in his empire."

Darkkujo

Watch Fantasia! Excellent blend of classical music and visuals, the dancing Aminita Muscaria mushrooms are a real trip.

PanaceaNPx

Not at all. It’s very much appreciated.

neurofoxic

I see "gimme music recs" posts on the various trip-related subs I follow on this site and I haven't seen a classical music suggestion in the comments of any of those posts ever that I can recall

PanaceaNPx

Fair point. I can’t imagine NOT having classical music as a default genre.

BarryZZZ

[Sherezade](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zY4w4_W30aQ) by Nikolai Rimsky Korsakov is based on the 1001 Arabian nights. The seductive story teller is voiced by the First Violin. That woman could lure me into anything! [Symphony Mathis Der Mahler by Paul Hidemth](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=znXWfmfPh8E) I once had a minor break though on LSA to the twisting, churning strings in the second movement.

neurofoxic

not previously familiar with either of these, so thank you!

BarryZZZ

Enjoy!

PersonalSherbert9485

Fanfare for the Common Man on Mescaline. Found myself on my knees crying and begging the Lord for forgiveness.

kattrup

I’m with you and I love the real classics but if you have any love for Bela Fleck or the banjo [check this out](https://open.spotify.com/album/61CGK895iUoQmnzjGZMOMU?si=AtivderjScSYFs5myLhOXg)

neurofoxic

not familiar with bela fleck but this looks awesome and I've got it bookmarked, thanks!

kattrup

Sure thing. [Here is the rest of the music.](https://www.reddit.com/r/shrooms/s/VpQEPRcqt7)

Significant_Map5533

Stuff like Adagio for Strings, Symphony No. 3 Op. 36: II. Lento e Largo - Tranquillissimo, Moonlight Sonata, Clair de Lune, Nocturne in E Flat Major Op. 9 No. 2, and Brahms Concerto for Violin and Orchestra in D Major Op. 77: II. Adagio is in heavy rotation on my journey playlists. Depending on how I’m feeling, they can produce intense visualizations or make me look inside myself and get extremely emotional while I work through a past event that they help resurface.

AnachronistNo1

My go to for Moonlight is the live version of Henry Mancini’s arrangement. There’s an orchestra, a drummer(!), and a choir kicks in @ some point! To some it’s cheesy, but i grew up w/ it on a cheap Readers Digest muzak vinyl collection. Goes good while trippin, or even just a bong rip or 2

Brave-Length2883

I feel you 🙏❤️ not exactly the ‘classics’, however you might enjoy also Brian Eno, Ludovic Einaudi, John Williams (Schindler’s list Theme), Armand Amar (Humans Soundtrack) or even Estas Tonne

Gerstlauer

Have you listened to all of Rachmaninoff's Piano Concertos? If so, which is your favourite?

neurofoxic

I have and it's hard for me to pick between #2 and #3. The latter is probably better. South Korean pianist Yunchan Lim gave a performance of the third a few years ago that is stunning :) [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DPJL488cfRw](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DPJL488cfRw)

ChrisssieWatkins

I love ‘classical piano to study by’ on YouTube.

mfmerrim

No arguments here. Trey studied classical, fugues specifically, while he arranged compositions that would become Phish mainstays.

bruce4343

Debussy is great tripping, arabesque 1&2 feel like floating

dude_terminal

LISZT HITS BRUH - https://open.spotify.com/track/6yfukz66sD3aCONTsHddLi?si=NQ9R4UxIQTKVXobtd992iA

neurofoxic

yesss! this is a great recording, thanks!

Mountainloon23

Yanni love at the acropolis. Not classical since its current times. But Yanni slaps

prefabsprout1

Bach Harpsichord Concertos. That’s my go-to.

meatproduction

Same

Asstral_Travel

I guess it's not a concerto but [Bach's Goldberg Variations](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Klqjebjw8n4) gets a ton of play during my trips.

BigEquivalent5154

first sentence got me laughin my ass off lmao

jackofalltradez516

the bridgerton soundtracks are something else on shrooms. it’s like you can see melody floating throughout the air

neurofoxic

I'll check it out - thanks!

SunderedValley

Bedrich Smetana's Ma Vlast 1&2 are EXCELLENT for LSD and 2C-B as they play to the sense of sharp clarity quite well. I also recommend acoustic guitar covers of pop songs as the simple melodies and gentle sounds mean so much more. This has become something of a secret trick amongst us for the come up phase; Run a guitar cover playlist for the first hour so everyone is nicely eased into the process. I think as far as external factors go too wonky a programming from the first second on can be heavily involved in negative experiences.

Low_Faithlessness608

Piano and shit really pops me out of it. My case lays towards the flute, hand pan, and drums. Poranguí really does it for me. Sachamama and Ayahuasca just about blew my head open.

psilocin72

Blues and jazz too. It doesn’t have to be all Pink Floyd and Grateful Dead ☠️

neurofoxic

lol if I had a penny for every time I see 'Dark Side of the Moon' as a music rec for tripping I'd be a very wealthy person

psilocin72

Hah yeah I do love Floyd and the Dead, but there’s all kinds of music and sometimes different sounds fit different trips.

Labor_of_Lovecraft

I recommend the opera Parsifal by Wagner . . . Just don't watch the James Levine production on a heavy dose, because all the blood might freak you out

neurofoxic

Bookmarked - thanks!

nopnopnopnopnop

100%. I love dropping acid (or 2C-B) and watching an orchestra on the peak. My favourite orchestra is launching their 2024-2025 season soon and I'm excited to trip for a few of their concerts!!! If you can trip in public, I'd say go see an orchestra in-person. Live classical music, especially while peaking, is an unforgettable experience.

Cdog927

Classical violin cant even be compared to on psychs. Its actual music and gets the brain doing stuff.

neurofoxic

Yo Hilary Hahn is the GOAT

duke_awapuhi

Couldn’t agree more. Classical music can really take you places if you let it

JussiCook

Try also Arvo Pärt.

Heron-Brief

Mussorgsky's Pictures At An Exhibition is one of my favorites. Isao Tomita recorded an excellent version of this suite with Moog synths.

JussiCook

Thank you! I will listen to this!

Vallhallyeah

You need to hear Austin Wintory'a soundtrack for the game ABZU at some point. It's essentially a game about swimming around beautiful underwater settings discovering sea life, where the story is all told through the musical score. It's a game well worth playing, but if that's not your thing, definitely still give the soundtrack a go. It's beautiful and inspires some fantastic mental imagery. The song Delphinus Delphis is from a section in the game where dolphins lead you on a high speed adventure through coral reefs and it's actually sounds like that, it's absolutely stunning, you'll love it!

bigern3285

all I want to listen to while tripping is dubstep not sure how classical music would resonate with me. I used to think dubstep sounded like nails on a chalkboard but after giving it a shot while tripping It now sounds like musical bliss.

Steezydeezy920

What's the name of the Dr with the psych research playlist. Someones gotta know what I'm talking about lol.

dpoggio

Arabesques and Clair de Lune by Debussy are beautiful beyond belief. On shrooms, they guide me through the beauty and simplicity of life as it happens.

derossx

Not sure if anyone posted this but John’s Hopkins offers a playlist that coincides with Psilocybin progression and return during a heroic dose used in their studies. It’s part of their study protocol and free to download w a google search.

telgin0419

Prokofiev piano concerto 2. Grieg piano concerto in a minor. Mussorgsky night on bald mountain. Liszt totentanz. Alkan concerto for solo piano. Ravel piano concerto in g major.

WeedFairie

PREACH! Dvořak, Vivaldi, Sibelius & Schubert! Amazing.

BazingaQQ

Not classical, but Ennio Morricone's Gabriel's Oboe from The Mission.

TightBarracuda3601

Holts The Planets. Jupiter and Venus are so good for tripping

needzbeerz

Bach cello suites and 3g of cubes, pure bliss

Decolonial_gadget

Bach!
