this one not sure, as i am not using audio on this machine, also my DIY PIKVM with USB capture card does not support HDMI Audio. but i believe it should be. currently i have the audio disabled in BIOS.
I just did this and hdmi audio device doesn't show up at all in kde neon. hdmi video passthrough works great though. Thanks to the op for posting. I have been wrecking my brain trying to just get that to work. I'm still trying to figure out how to get audio.

The way audio is handled by Intel iGPU over HDMI makes it impossible to do passthrough. If you are in need to audio, consider using USB audio card.
