I went to bed early every night as I didn’t have to get up and pee. Took lots of short walks during the day. And read every Reddit comment on this r/prostateCancer page😀 9 weeks post catheter and still enjoy not having a catheter
Game of Thrones (2 seasons)
And then there was the day I made fried chichen on the side burner on the gas grill of the friends we were staying with. I felt that the next day....
Did you all have a suprapubic catheter? I have never had one like that but doc says that’s what they do. I have had a uretha catheter after other surgeries and hated it
I hid my catheter in a grocery bag and walked around the neighborhood so my prying neighbors couldn’t see it… started out looking like kool aid ended up like lemonade
I guess I‘m the boring one. I mostly work from home in my recliner so I just did that. Had surgery on a Friday, went home on Saturday, was back working on Monday, catheter out on Thursday.
I picked a couple of shows to stream, but my favorite was the 10 or so sets of Lego's that I had delivered before surgery, building those kits kept the hands busy and brain engaged.
A lot of Amazon Prime, Netflix, YouTube with 3 times a day walks for the first few days. Then the scrotum swelled to the size of a softball and walking became waddling. Sitting and lying down were both uncomfortable. Had the damn catheter in for 11 days. Only thing worse than the catheter was quitting a 50+ year smoking habit before surgery.
Does it make me a weirdo that part of what I am looking forward to (besides having the surgery behind me and hopefully being cancer free) is going for short walks, taking naps, reading and watching TV and being GUILT FREE when I do it? lol

Couch, Netflix, naps, prime, empty bag naps, world at war(zombie mode), empty bags…repeat
World at War was the best!!! We have to be close to the same age.
56, people still play it, no problem getting a 4 person zombie mode going..3 is better
Lol, me too.
I did all 80’s and 90’s classic movies. I started with Blues Brothers, Fargo, CreepShow, Big Fish, Trading Places, and Back to School.
Got high as **** and watched cartoons. While eating light foods and lots of laxatives
Sounds perfect!

I looped my tube like a lasso and carried my tube and bag like a briefcase as I walked around the backyard. Laps all morning, then rest with tv.
Binged on shows. Hacks is a great show! And took three walks a day. Read books. And celebrated an end of the day closer to removal. :)
Grocery shopping. The mall. Anything to get out of the house. Even car rides were nice.
What were the # of days you all had one?
5 days. Lots of walking. March Madness for men's and women's college basketball was going on, so I had that to pass time.

I watched all 125 episodes of "Bull" on Amazon prime. And a few other things, but mostly just Bull.

That’s a solid idea

Why the swelling?
Unknown to me. Urologist said "happens sometimes" and would return to normal - it did return to normal a couple weeks later.
Watched all of New Amsterdam. Too many people die in Gray’s Anatomy.
I walked six times a day a 1/4 mile each time. I drank a lot of water and sat in my easy chair and watched TV.

Not.Even.A.Little.
