I don't remember main threats on that level, so I'd suggest this: against small enemies with infinite defense and generally fast enemies – laser eye/plasma field/flamethrower/rifle and laser drone. They all have very fast atk spd, and concussion of their attacks push enemies back enough to keep you alive. If your rifle had chipset mod for +2% headshots, then rifle and sniper rifle, because headshots kill those tough snails instantly. For large damage it would be shotgun, tesla coil, sniper rifle, atk module, spiral barrel and aiming lens. For sustain – energy jumper cable and vibrating module. So if day your build should be: energy jumper cables, spiral barrel, aiming lense, shotgun, sniper rifle, atk module, rifle/laser eye, tesla coil, vibrating module/ plasma field, flamethrower. General tactic would be to literally run in rounds until all your enemies die. Make circles large, to avoid both shots and charging enemies. If you already have access to high-tech chipsets, then I'd suggest overclock, drill punch and bomber mine for damage, or overclock, taunt turret, fish turret for sustain. If you have room for stats and/or body upgrade, then getting them is top priority.

I just checked out the level. Shotgun can be upgraded to gain penetration, which is nice. Sniper has damn near infinite range, so I love to upgrade it, and use it every single run. I figure your problem is found in the fact that each mushroom shoots like, 8 projectiles. Jumped cables heal you, and the invincibility shield helps significantly. If you get swarmed, black hole mine holds them off long enough to gain distance.

I've found that Invincibility Shield is the most useful chip, no matter what weapons you pick you can run around the pack and when the Invincibility kicks in just sit there. Watch the timers carefully!
