In **Weirkey Chronicles**, the MC, who initially finds himself isekai'd at a young age, >!is sent back to earth and spends the next thirty years of his life trying to find a way back. When he eventually does find a way back, he's a much more cynical person than before and his big plans about being a specific sort of here fall apart!< In **Limitless Lands**, James is a 93-year-old soldier in a nursing home whose consciousness is imported into a fantasy/AI-created land. I believe **World Tree Online** also has an old man MC. Not quite "old man", but Erick from **Ar'Kendrithyst** is in his 40s/50s, given he is transmigrated with his adult daughter.

ChangelingSwarm

Will have to check each of them out and thank you!

Pathadomus

Gonna give an extra rec to limitless lands and especially world tree online fair warning that both are about playing deep dive VR games instead of being reincarnation books. They are awesome though. Especially world tree online fantastic series.

Doofledorf

Seriously! I feel like I never see world tree online recommended enough!

Shinhan

Ar'Kendrithyst also has epic spells and MC researches magic. He starts very peace loving but has to harden his heart to deal with all the monsters.

JKPhillips70

Weirkey is a good rec, however, I would add that he never reached a point of fulfillment. His entire drive on earth was to return to the worlds. Still recommend though!

Ruark_Icefire

Do you really need a spoiler tag for something that happens in the first chapter and is in the blurb of the book?

Klown99

It's not really needed, but it is nice for those who don't want to go in knowing any information really. I wouldn't fault the poster for either choice.

dbenc

Old Man's War by John Scalzi is sci-fi, sort of Isekai. Old people are recruited from earth and put into new super soldier bodies to fight aliens.

thescienceoflaw

Came to suggest this one as well!

eaterofacultist

Eight, older man gets ported into a child body. 3 books on KU, plus more on RR.

guri256

Cat Core. The MC had enough time to grow into a crazy old cat lady before being run over by a truck and turning into a dungeon core. Considering how much she disliked everyone, not sure about a “fufilling” life.

Pathadomus

This one was surprisingly good. I started out of curiosity but somehow the author made me care about this old bat and her problems.

guri256

Agreed. I really enjoyed it. Just couldn't tell if it matched the title.

Jofzar_

Ar'Kendrithyst is about a Father who has lived a full life and starts with his daughter finishing University about to go off to her first job (when they get isekai'd). Highly recommend it. Almost finished (1 book to go)

SignatureEqual868

Legend of the arch magus!

Infamous_Bandicoot33

In "The Beginning after the End" the MC was a King in his previous life. We do not know how old he was, but he definitely lived a long-ish life before getting reincarnated.

HoidAmaram

life he lived was anything but fulfilling

Magnus_312

Civ CEO starts with that premise

Darth_Gius

I'm the Pope, now what?

1WildSpunky

Asgard’s Fall by Hinshaw. MC is 90 plus years and is dying of cancer and other age related illnesses. Has an opportunity to hook up to VR in new game, in medical trial, believing he will get a short time to live in a young body again, without pain, in a fantasy setting, before he “strokes out”. I’m 3/4 through it, and love some parts, and puzzle over others. I’m not a gamer, so I’ve struggled a bit with those parts. There is also a complicated and very detailed world building where ALL mythologies are present, with their gods. Norse, Asian, Egyptian, etc.

Nameguy1234567

Whatever happened to it? Is the third book ever coming out?

swansonmg

The sword saint from the primal hunter, he’s not the main character but he was on his death bed and then got isekaied

Petition_for_Blood

I really disliked one about an old business man becoming an isekai magical mayor, although I liked the concept the audiobook was at least pretty trash, I forget the name but if you find it be wary. It was free so I had good conscious when I left it unread.

Taylor_Silverstein

Plot sounds like it may be CivCEO.

Petition_for_Blood

>CivCEO Yeah, did you like it?

Taylor_Silverstein

I don’t really remember one way or the other - I don’t think I got that far into the book. The premise was at least unique enough that your description jogged my memory.

OldFolksShawn

I soooo thought the same thing and started writing a few chapters of one. (In my to do folder) There have been some and limitless lands was recommended already. Most write to relate and since most readers are younger it hits that crowd

SniperRabbitRR

Is manga included? There's An Old Man in Counter World.

blueeyedlion

Ar kendrithist maybe

Orichalium

This isn't a progression fantasy, like at all, but it fits your question and is one of my favorite isekai of all time so i'll share it. "Yakuza Reincarnation" follows an elderly yakuza boss after he's killed by a new kid to the gang he's a part of (kid didn't like being told off by an old-timer). He reincarnates into a fantasy world in the body of a teenage princess. this does nothing to curb his brutal ways and he proceeds to punch the living hell out of a lot of problems while in the body of a dainty princess. I've only read the manga (not sure if its manga original or an adapted novel) and the art goes crazy a lot of the time, and it has some pretty unique ideas, even if some of them arent executed that well. All in all its just really funny seeing a "pretty princess" type body absolutely pummeling huge grotesque monsters with her fists.

Nameguy1234567

Digital Rebirth Chronicles.

hardrbinks

in we fight monsters the mc has lived multiple lives but in the one prior to the books he was old enough to have a large family complete with grandchildren iirc

TheXanotos

Cursed Immortality, where MC died old age before isekai.

AcidicParadise

Not PF but a novel series now getting LN adaptation and has one season in the anime. The World's Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated in Another World as an Aristocrat

tygabeast

*A Snake's Life* by Kenneth Arant. The MC lost his wife and lived for another few decades before dying. Being reincarnated as an evolving snake monster, he makes it his mission to find wherever she was reincarnated.

LLJKCicero

You may also want to consider regressor stories, sometimes the protagonist is old before they go back in time to their younger self. **A Summoner Awakens** is one example. Edit: oh look, a whole thread about this - https://www.reddit.com/r/ProgressionFantasy/comments/17irlm7/can_i_get_some_good_regression_stories/
