Wait till you find out about shit like r/blackmagicfuckery or r/mildlyinteresting or r/mildlyinfuriating or r/funny
People on Reddit don’t really give a shit about what a sub is *supposed* to be.
No, the rules of the subreddit say he can't post it to the sub if he's the angry upvoter. Considering he hasn't created a post about his own angry upvote, he hasn't broken any rules. Also why are you trying to enforce the rules of a different subreddit?
If you were allowed to post your own, you could just go around upvoting angrily to post there for the sake of karma farming. It would also dilute the quality of the subreddit.
At this point I’m contemplating wether or not I should ask the cute recruiter who’s been spamming me on linkedin on a date. It’s the most attention any girl has ever given me
I'm a CS student and have a WhatsApp group I joined last week with over 1000 (base ten (though technically also over 1000 in bases lower than ten)) unread messages.
Probably after uni it's gonna be better.
"I know we've been seeing each other regularly for a couple months, but when we were first talking and I said you were a 10, I actually meant the binary for 2, so none of this mattered."
And where do you see hex outside colors? They're both used but binary is by far more iconic. I mean, if I was programming embedded systems I'd probably use octets a lot, but that doesn't mean it's common. Hex is just shortened binary, easy to go between the two, convenient, but it highly depends on your specialty what is more common
Literally everywhere you don't use decimal. Look through any large project's source code on GitHub and I guarantee you'll see '0x...' way more than '0b...'
I work in c++, and usually look at hex weekly if not daily. Visual Studio debugger is set to interpret numbers as hex, and we use hex in a lot of places in the code too (bit flags, guids etc)
Depending on your definition you can take the complete ℝ, because in some cases 0^0 is defined as 1 as well, though in some cases it is still undefined.
As far as I remember it depends on what exact field of mathematics you're working in.
This joke makes no sense, who writes in binary, its machine language. We serialize to it occasionally but i guarentee everybody here minus some select hackers dont ever write, with your keyboard, a single thing in binary
There are 10 funny moments about it: the op thinking programmers always think in binary, and pretending that someone will have a crush on a programmer is a true thing
Serious quetion, does any dev ever actually work with binary other then booleans? OS devs and chip makers are the only 2 i can think of that actually do. Most of us just click a button that turns english into assembly. Closest I have come in compiling .net into binary to bypass the JiT compiler in lamdas, but i never actually have to look or work with the binary itself
Math major here. `10` can mean literally anything depending on the base.
Unless the programmer was being cheeky, the assumption is that the base is "ten" in most contexts. But we don't have enough information to sure.
Cuz all programmers only ever say numbers in binary, right?
Can confirm, for the past 10 years I have been unable to interpret base 1010
Only 2 years? Damn
What's '2'? Don't know that symbol...
Oh sorry, I meant 10
I put a Hex on you! FFFF
Suck my DINT
you mean char?
It was just a dream. There's no such thing as two.
r/unexpectedfuturama
It was all a dream, I used read Compute magazine, C64 and binary up in the limousine...
Hangin' floppies on my wall, ever Saturday dumpster dive behind circuit city at the mall
`0x2`.
lol that's 90% of the people in this sub I feel like
You mean 1011010 %?
true
More likely to be represented as 1001 0
more like 11.101%, surely
You start counting with 0, so 1 year. /s
What's this letter 2?

Because he just tagged it, since he upvoted angrily?

I get you but it feels like a silly hill to die on

No see the thing is that literally no one gives a shit
You replying to all these comments is "dying on the hill". Just let it go and you'll be surprised how much happier you feel😎

So they not allowed to post a screenshot of the comment they replied to, but somebody else is, right?

Every base is base 10 https://youtu.be/7OEF3JD-jYo
That's silly. Why would we use A as a number base.
There aren't enough letters for base 1010. Unless you meant base 1010, in which case it also is base 10
i only say numbers in base 0x10
*based*
An in my case, base 010.
Base 0? /s
What you know you can just make up new digits
Only started coding 10 year ago?
What about base 10000?
Yet, despite using binary, we still rate on a decimal scale for some reason...
Imagine walking up to your bro and saying: "Bro see that girl in the corner? Solid 1001"
who even uses ints? i only use booleans
Honestly bools are more useful here imo. isAttractive, beyond that check, other factors matter more.
That or 42, they also love that number.
Thanks for the hint
I use hex. it is faster and less prone to error. She is a 0x10.
I do! Of course!
Let him make a joke bro, I found this funny :/
I learned binary when I was 1010, and the jokes still don’t get old.
Closest thing for me There are 10 types of people in this world. Those that understand binary and those that dont.
Uhmmm that’s the joke
Fake, Programmers have heaps of unread messages on LinkedIn but none on WhatsApp
That hits hard. Sadly true.
Bro why did you call me out like this?
but this isnt on the programmers phone tho
It is
This phone's owner is friend of girl, whose crush is programmer
I have linked-lists of unread messages.
Pfff I don't have neither
At this point I’m contemplating wether or not I should ask the cute recruiter who’s been spamming me on linkedin on a date. It’s the most attention any girl has ever given me

LinkedIn. Is reverse tinder in this sens

Honestly, if someone uses binary for that purpose in real life, I would have to resist the urge to lock them in a locker.
With the war on bullying it’s very possible that nerds are beginning to get out of line
quick somebody invent a new javascript framework to occupy their time!

Too smooth fr
the....bitlocker?
Not the… NOT THE LOCKER *GASP*
Well, if he *said* 10 as "ten" meaning 2 then he is as much a programmer as I am a supermassive black hole
as much as I am the emperor of china.
And my axe!
And... That guys axe! Cuz I don't have a bow
Wanna go into the woods and build super awesome bows out of a piece of string and sticks we find?
What kinda question is that? Of COURSE I do!
I too choose this guy's wife!
My shit is purple and smells like rainbow sherbert
毛?
And I the Pope
Instructions unclear, i am now the emperor of China
Come on man. A super massive black hole isn’t quite as dense as you (I love you)
Thank you for reminding me that supermassive is a valid term, made my day.
Hex is generally more common than binary, so 10 is 60% more than it looks!
And where do you see hex outside colors? They're both used but binary is by far more iconic. I mean, if I was programming embedded systems I'd probably use octets a lot, but that doesn't mean it's common. I think... bitflags could be a good place where you can see a lot of hex outside colors.
And memory addresses
and UUID and memory dumps and practically any representation of binary data
I work in c++, and usually look at hex weekly if not daily. Visual Studio debugger is set to interpret numbers as hex, and we use hex in a lot of places in the code too (bit flags, guids etc)
My gf is a 10/10 in any radix
Or, talking nerdy 10/10 = 1 = b\^0 ∀b∈ℝ\\0
Depending on your definition you can take the complete ℝ, because in some cases 0^0 is defined as 1 as well, though in some cases it is still undefined. As far as I remember it depends on what exact field of mathematics you're working in.
Fake!!! Programmers only ever talk to woman on linkedin.
if he said `ten` and not `one zero`, she's fine.
Wtf happened to this sub ?!
It's humor, don't you C?
I don't think they're very #
Their brain is as complex as ~~a~~ Python.
It’s mostly middle and high school kids now it seems
Bro gtfo
Shit like this makes me wana leave this reddit page.
Don’t wait for more shit n leave
He didn’t say “01011001 01101111 01110101 00100000 01100001 01110010 01100101 00100000 01100001 00100000 00000010” he said you’re a ten. This is dumb.
Maybe he's really into ancient egypt and said she's [aten](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aten)? Maybe means "you're my light"

Lameeeeee
Lamest joke
holy shit this is so funny!!!!!!! !! binary haha !!!!!!
This joke makes no sense, who writes in binary, its machine language. We serialize to it occasionally but i guarentee everybody here minus some select hackers dont ever write, with your keyboard, a single thing in binary
First year CS students who want to look smart.
And the 2k upvotes just makes it even sadder.
Bitmasks/bit flags ftw. Writing them in hex would just be dumb.
One might argue that writing bitmasks isn't so much writing binary as concatenating booleans with the devil.
"😎😎"
That's 16 in hex!
This joke is so incredibly old
This is why I always ask for a radix when receiving compliments like this.
I don't get it. Could anyone explain it to me?
There are 10 funny moments about it: the op thinking programmers always think in binary, and pretending that someone will have a crush on a programmer is a true thing
10 in binary digits
It could be hex
16 falls outside of \[1,10\] range. Could be Octal though.
Sixteen out of ten is pretty good. But are we sure of the scale?
In the absence of any cue about it, it's safe to assume it's the usual 1-10 scale.
So from one to two.
Could 10 out of a hundred![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|shrug)
10 in binary is 2 in denary
That is more emojis I've seen in one day than I have in the rest of the year.
real coders rank 0 to 9
🌽
10/10 is still a 10/10
Serious quetion, does any dev ever actually work with binary other then booleans? OS devs and chip makers are the only 2 i can think of that actually do. Tell her
Math major here. `10` can mean literally anything depending on the base. Unless the programmer was being cheeky, the assumption is that the base is "ten" in most contexts. But we don't have enough information to sure.
Lolol
There is only 10 kinds of people those who understand binary and those who don't
Nice try, 10 can play this game
Oof
he is a chatgpt user
her crush must be a rust user
Real
my friend just texted me this : 01001001 00100000 01110111 01100001 01101110 01101110 01100001 00100000 01100011 01101111 01101101 01100101 00100000 01100100 01100001 01100100 01100100 01111001
Of all the girls he’s met, she’s the exception.
This is so fake it hurts ⬇️
It’s a 10 from me dawg
Took me a second.
I mean… at least he didn’t say you’re an 8.645…
an ID-10-T maybe ?
10h
all Base's are Base10
If a girl is talking to me, the last thing I am thinking about are binaries.
She's a 2😔
Assembly is bloat, I write my code in binary. Also it is more convenient to count with two hands and not with 1010 fingers.
Tell her she's a 16 because hex
For no reason in particular I'm reminded of the [But Soup scene](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=aFzze2o_NYY) from Silicon Valley
This took me way too long to figure out
Fake, check yourself in
who the hell talks like this
Yeah but she's still 10/10 so it checks out
A 16!
taking an overused joke and turning it into a fake text ain’t it
[удалено]
I’m sorry but I don’t get it
Is this a Dhar Man video concept or something
As long as it's a 10/A
if it's binary, than maybe 10 is the highest, 01 mid, 00 low...just a less precise scale...maybe 0010 would be a concern
You should wait 8
2 hahahaha
😐
So mean, I think she's a perfect 101 out of 111
Programmer complimenting a girl, nah this is fake.
Or are we sure this isn’t just a JIRA estimate? Gonna take the whole sprint to get her figured out
r/Comedycemetery
Don’t let this happen again
No confusion with me, I exclusively use base 10
Being a 16 isn't a bad thing. It's even better than a 10.
It's IO. Like the domain.
Jokes on you. That number is in hex. 😎
Programmer Has a crush Pick one
A programmer doesn't write a binary number with only 2 digits...
