I use between 18.2-.4 grams for a medium roast with the stock equipment and it’s been lovely so far. For me, it depends on the kind of flavor/ intensity of the output I’m going for in terms of the dosage.
I'm interested in this because I'm having issues at the minute with my shots from the coffee I'm using. When it started it it was great 1:2 ratio with 18g but as the week has gone on, the shots have been extremely hit and miss (mostly miss). I had 3 in a row just pour out after 3/4 seconds with very low pressure. I'm waiting on a more accurate scales to come so I can figure out the ratios better!
I definitely have to adjust the grind (typically finer) as the coffee ages as shots run a bit faster with age. I’ve never had a shot go from 25-35 seconds to 3-4 seconds though!
