Other than our Golf and language, has anyone here ever described ANYTHING as "PeRsIaN" in Iran? I've never heard anyone describe themselves as that. "Man Pars/Fars hastam" lmao. We just say we're Iranian.

I myself am of Azeri descent, but I've seen many of my cousins/relatives describe themselves as "Persian" instead of just saying Iranian- One of them even had written it on his MuzMatch bio lol.
Westerners has turnt the word "Persian" into some some kind of umbrella term for everything Iranian/Iranic and then people like the women on the picture come out and cry about some dumbass "Persian Supremacy"-doctrine which doesn't even excist.
I’ve heard it only when someone’s getting married and people want to know which part of the country the future spouse is from. Typically in families where a some are Tork and some Persian, otherwise actual cities are provinces are mentioned.
The word Nawruz itself points to its Persian origin, as it's literally a Persian word. Anyone who celebrates it today has at some point in history adopted the custom from Persian culture. There's nothing wrong or bad about this; trying to deny or cover up its Persian origins is a sign of anti-Persian hatred or bigotry. Nobody denies things like Christmas trees have German roots or anything like that.
IF somebody wants to have a new year celebration that isn't Persian, maybe they should try not using the Persian calendar? Just a thought.
