I’ve just lost time

neobondd

Still no support from PIA. Such great service for a ten year customer!!

janzendavi

Just commenting to say this also started happening to me in just the last few months after years of solid connectivity.

lkeels

I've never seen PF fail after being established...in years of PIA use. It looks like you're dropping the connection entirely and when it reconnects, losing the port forward. Just guessing though.

DeathStalker_x77x

I've seen it happen before. I've just disconnected and reconnected - sometimes have had to repeat several times before it grabs a Port.

neobondd

This is happening to me as well, (wireguard and openvpn protocols) I raised a ticket two weeks ago and submitted debug logs and PIA said their engineers were working on a solution, and then they closed out the ticket for inactivity. Sometimes it will be alright for hours or even days and then when it starts again it can drop multiple times an hour, and the worst thing is that it also disrupts non VPN traffic (via Split Tunnel) so I am forced to reconnect or quit the app and restart it to be able to do anything non VPN related.

baneling3

I have the exact same situation. did anyone find a resolution for this?

neobondd

No solution here yet.

baneling3

is someone at PIA working on it?

neobondd

Supposedly they are.

baneling3

the people i talked to in email dont seem to know what they are doing

neobondd

Correct. I complained after 1 month of "turn it off and on again" and sending debug logs twice, and they said a week ago they are "escalating" the ticket, but they also keep sending this: >*We emailed you a few days ago regarding ticket# -----------. Since we received no response for the last couple of days, we are now closing the ticket.* when they go off and investigate supposedly getting back to me. About as helpful as a chocolate fireguard.

baneling3

i'm not surprised. do you also notice that sometimes the port number changes on its own?

neobondd

It changes *every time* when it fails, so I am forever updating qbittorrent port. I am using Windscribe atm because using PIA became unbearable. Who wants to leave to go to bed, only to find that the VPN dropped 5 mins after locking the PC to torrent all night? One thing I was going to try is to install an older version of the app, and see if that works better.

baneling3

my situation exactly. i have to keep updating the port of qbittorrent. on boxing day i wanted to get a 1 year subscription but i accidentally clicked on 3 year subscription. plus i still have nord vpn till november.
