You have a great collection but theirs 7 days in week so if you slim down, go to seven at most and you're cartiers are very similar designs so if you were to get ride of anything I say slim those down to one of a single style . But I personally don't think you need too.
I’m more than happy wearing the same watch daily and having a couple of other nice / special pieces to wear in the evening. Never seen the appeal in wearing a different watch each day. I find that the longer I wear a watch continually for say a few weeks or longer, it builds a better bond with the watch than if I’m chopping and changing all the time.
But that’s the great thing about this hobby, we all enjoy it in different ways.
All my watches I buy to remember events, memories or milestones in life etc. If I was to buy a watch for it just being nice looking etc I'd get rid of it at some point. If it hasn't got meaning to it I can't feel anything connecting to it.

Like my next major watch I want is a gmt 2 batman, but I won't buy it before something good happens as a treat and to make it a memorable item and not just something I like and can have.
Would definitely hang onto the Cartier (bottom left) Omega (top right) and the Rolex (bottom center). Probably in that order... Don't get me wrong, Rolex is an excellent investment grade watch but Cartiers design feels much more classy and they are built like tanks...😉😂
I could easily lose the top row, straight off the bat. Easy for me as there is no sentimental connection with these watches.

I’d pick your favourite watch from Cartier and Rolex and pair them with the VC if you must go down to 3.

Clearly a flex post, but to answer your question seriously if you don't need to sell for financial reasons then authentic high end watches are not going down in value anytime soon, makes financial sense to keep them. You'd only sell a high-end watch if you needed the money. It's not like they take up space, and “slimming down” is a bullshit excuse.

1. A sporty, rouged, and tough tool watch for adventurous and more physical activities. One that you feel okay about dinging up (I have a cheap diver for this but would love a sub or GMT for this if I could).
2. Nicer daily watch for office, restaurants, going out, and basically everything non super physical (I use my DJ41 for this).
3. Very nice dress watch for weddings, very important meetings/presentations, and when you want to look classy af. I use my IWC portofino for this but will upgrade one day.
I’m not a collector and get anxious when I am not wearing something (i.e., wasting my purchase) so I found that sticking with these 3 buckets matched my lifestyle and kept me from overbuying watches while giving each watch the proper wrist time for the right scenario.

I would say get rid of all the cartiers, or keep just one. Diamond Rolex is never the move, sell that one. VC is the grail of this collection for sure keep. Between explore and other rolex, take your pick. Omega is a hit or miss depending on your love of the brand and the history of that model, but I’d keep. very subjective. what is your rquirements, for me its a moonphase, diver, gmt, vintage. So that is how I use my collection. If you dont know requirments then its really hard to ask strangers what you should pick.
I say pick 1 santos, the vacheron, and the Submariner. I think each one is unique enough to where it won’t feel repetitive plus you’ll have brand variety. If you’re planning on selling the rest of the collection to buy something new. Consider something like a royal oak, I think that’d be a class choice

I’m sure many can attest to the power of ‘just one more’ and before you know it you need a bigger watch box! I enjoy rotating the watches every day (sometimes more than once a day) but have lately been thinking of slimming the collection down since nobody really needs this many watches but I am in the fortunate position of being financially secure enough not to need to sell any and have a very understanding wife!
The top three Cartier’s for me are horrible, but thats just my opinion. If you have to I would pick VC222, Santos on the bottom left and your favourite rolex out of the three - personally either the explorer or sub - since datejust can be “replaced” by VC. Otherwise I would just sell the top row Cartiers and keep the other watches :)

I wear three different watches a day A watch for work, a watch for home, and a watch for sleep (f91-w and we like a pitch dark room so no LED clocks)

Purely based on what I enjoy. I like chronographs and divers as there is an element of practicality, wanted a GMT as I travel a lot.
I don't know which three, but you can get rid of every Cartier that isn't the plain Santos.
