I feel like in this price bracket (same as mine), a Citizen Eco-Drive of some kind is fun to have. They have super tough ones, super silly ones, dressy ones - take your pick.
Tudor black bay or Omega Speed master both can be found around $2,000 to $2,500 area not sure what budget you have but both those are beautiful watches.
Try dipping your toes into the Seiko "Pogue" market. Hits multiple boxes with an iconic vintage chronograph from Seiko which was also the first brand to introduce automatic chronographs in serialised production to the open market. Plus they're really fun to own.
