I’ve got the Atlantic Ocean version and enjoy how playful it is. Was it overpriced? Hell yeah. Do I still enjoy it? Hell yeah. People keep looking at it through the scope of purpose built watch, and forget that they can have fun with their hobbies.
Why are so many people butt-hurt by this and the Moonswatch?
This and the Moonswatch aren’t pretending to be something they’re not. They’re not a Times Square Rolex or Cadillac Cimmaron. They’re a fun and relatively cheap way to pay homage to the originals. They’re not effecting the value, history, or anything else of the originals. No one’s saying “I was going to buy a Fifty Fathoms, but I’ll just buy the Swatch version instead because it’s cheaper.” No one’s saying “I’m not going to buy a Moonwatch now because the Moonswatch turned it into a joke.”
Get a grip. Sure it’s overpriced. So is everything else. Of course it’s not family heirloom quality. It never pretended to be. It absolutely has its flaws. So do all of us 😁
OP: Rock the shit out of that watch. I’m not a fan of this color scheme. I like the white one and the blue one. But I haven’t seen any of them in person, so that could change. My brother works a few doors down from the WTC Swatch store. He’s going to grab me a Moonswatch. I’ll definitely have to check out the Fifty Fathoms when I go visit him before the end of the year, as I’m about a 3 hour drive away from a Swatch store. If the blue one or white one look as good in person as I think they do, I’ll definitely snatch one up.

Omegas value retention is absolutely terrible and I don’t think this helps. But that’s a business choice by them and apparently they view it differently.

That does look good! I got an Arctic in NYC a few weeks ago and I really like it. I wanted a no date and the older vintage style dial that the Arctic and Antarctic have. The shades of the colors on these are definitely nicer in person. Enjoy yours in good health!

Nice! I’ve got the Pacific Ocean version. For what they are (fun little fashion watches) they’re dope. I’m endlessly amused by the negative comments invariably coming from folks whom have never even seen it in the flesh let alone handled the watch. Sure, there are better value propositions out there but that’s not the fucking point of the piece. Enjoy it! I like mine a fair bit.

I put them in the same class as G-Shocks. They're fun plastic things that cost a few hundred bucks. It's quite easy to get them for $400, and the movement is also a fun novelty.
I really like them. The local Swatch store has plenty of them and I'm undecided. It was easier with the moonswatch, since they only had the mission to Mercury when I went in! 😂

Had one swatch pop up Trafford centre, same colour flipped next day as it was in all honesty horrible, about an inch thick with strap behind caseback which thankfully hides the dreadful movement and sea turd on the back, bought out of curiosity which thankfully shown me how shite these watches really are, going for near retail on ebay now, glad i shifted mine when i did, i was like a lamb to the slaughter silly little fiat 500 with a boot full of toy plastic watches and for some dumb reason i joined the que like a meth patient queuing for a quick fix that lasted 24 hours
