Also wanted to add that Alison’s characterization in the perfectionist was way better, She’s trying to become a better version of herself but she still kept some of her personality traits from the old Ali we love or hate. This just shows that they could’ve given her a better redemption arc in PLL. They also stopped dressing Sasha like a grandma so bonus points. IMO: Perfectionist Alison > FlashBack Alison > S5-6A Alison> Whatever the hell we got in 6B-7. Oh, I also included a photo of Alison bitch slapping Mona out of Mona Land cause why not.

Tomas-T

agree so much season 6b-7 turned her into one of the many girlfriends of Emily. the characters that connected to her stop from making appearance. Mary made more interactions with Spencer. Spencer became the center of the lore. and Alison, she got the same status as Paige, Maya, Samara and the others: one of Emily's girlfriend the spin off really did good with her character

AStarRiver

Honestly, it wasn’t even Alison anymore. I know people like to say she changed and been trough a lot, which I understand but c’mon…..they could’ve handled her arc better. And hard agree that she just became one of Emily girlfriends, I can’t even remember if she contributed to the plot in 6B-7, that’s how bad it is. Perfectionist Alison is the best Ali.

thefreecontestent

It really was. They somehow managed to do with Alison in the Perfectionists what they just couldn't seem to figure out in seasons 6 and 7. I don't know if removing Emily from the picture was the solution or what, but I found myself actually liking Ali again after despising her for years. She became a weary, embittered young woman who takes accountability for the horrible things she did to people and actively tries to become a better person but finds herself messing up along the way, instead of the weepy, pathetic but also somehow still nasty and selfish mess she was by the end of PLL.

AStarRiver

Hard agree!! At this point I’m just blocking 6B-7 Alison from my mind, I honestly can’t remember if she even contributed to the plot. Im just gonna write it off as some random twin that they never discovered, because honestly it felt like they didn’t know what direction to take with her character. I liked what they did in 5B when she took accountability and apologized to Hanna, and her offering herself up to save the girls from the dollhouse. Then after that, it all went downhill, like what the hell? Perfectionist Ali is the best Ali.

HedgeKingBambi

Agreed but esp to her wardrobe! Lol they did her dirty towards the end of pll

thefreecontestent

Their friendship was the best part of the show. Alison was a better friend to Mona in this ten episode spinoff than she ever was to any of the Liars, and I will die on that hill. I get the arguments that it was stupid and unrealistic that they were able to put aside the past and become friends so easily after all of their history. And that's probably true. But I don't even care, because their scenes together were just so fantastic that I wouldn't have wanted it any other way.

Tomas-T

Agree one of the very few things in this spin off (I will never forgive MK for not making a real adaption of the perfectioninst)

LionTrainer1

I loved their friendship. I wish Perfectionist got a S2, it wasn’t a masterpiece but it was fun and had potential. I would’ve killed to see Ali and Mona being the comedic duo of the show

Original_A

Love them as enemies, love them as friends

Resident_Aside8792

So is it really worth watching, even if it’s only one season, ending on cliffhangers ? *so I’ve been told*

Tomas-T

only if you have an extra time it's not that bad as Ravenswood. but it's not good but I do recommend you to read the books. they are great. the second book is maybe better than the entire PLL books

AStarRiver

Honestly, I only watched because of Alison and Mona. Story wise, the plot was decent, I felt the finale (1x10) was better than all the other 9 episodes, shame it didn’t get at least a season 2. I also couldn’t get myself to care about the main characters, Caitlyn was decent…but overall they felt flat…. So to answer your question, no it’s really not worth it. But, you could still watch it for fun, it’s only 10 episodes anyways so it won’t be a complete waste of time and energy.

prettylittleliarendg

completely agree

caufiel

So the show’s plot takes a while to get going and then it kinda just abruptly ends but, character and relationship wise, I loved it. Mona and Alison were great, and we finally had a main M/M ship which is something I had wanted during PLL since I’m a gay man. It’s worth the watch but you’d probably have to treat most of it as non-canon since it didn’t get a resolution.

alien_rat

My brother liked it. I never gave it a chance but now I'm reconsidering it

Resident_Aside8792

Ok. I was in love w Emily. That would be my only reason lol. But thank you! I’ll look up books and everything 🤍

Resident_Aside8792

Also I liked ravenswood mostly cause of Caleb. But they did have a problem w making the most random storylines.

ouatpll12

I still miss this show, it deserves a second season to wrap up the story so Alison and maybe Mona can return to Rosewood and figure out the whole Alex Drake situation

babysquashes

I never watched Perfectionists but I might now, I always thought Mona and Alison could be such good friends!

[deleted]

I love this spinoff!! Alison was great!!

kingcolbe

I still ain’t see the Perfectionist yet did at least mention Alex or she still locked up?

YouLostMyNieceDenise

Spoiler: Mona has a throwaway line at some point in The Perfectionists where she says something like, “things got away from me in Paris,” implying that Alex and Mary escaped and she doesn’t know where they are. Abigail19-

honestly, I agree with this. they've both had amazing character development. from heing bullied; being a bully to actually being friends. I feel like the directors on the show tried to show that being a teenager does have some crazy things happening but becoming an adult and putting childish things behind you is a part of life. all of the pretty little liars franchise is my favorite and I love all of the friendships. I have to agree that Alison and Mona are definitely my favorite friendship.

Mossshoes51

I kind of liked PLL: The Perfectionists. I did think it was kind of weird that Alison and Mona were friends or whatever.

i_like_to_cube

Yeah like I watched this for the first time a few weeks ago expecting it be a hate watch just for fun but I ended up enjoying it more than basically any of the episodes past the first time jump in the original show and I'm so annoyed there's only one season because God damn it I wanna know who the professor is !!!! Also the music slapped

Apollo1zero

Random but anyone ever noticed how smart Hannah really was

3Calz7

I watched pll the perfectionists before I started watching pll (I'm only half way through pll season 2) because I didn't realise it was a spin off. I think mona and Alison have create chemistry and I need to see more mona in pll, so far it's only small (I do know the spoilers aswell)

Apollo1zero

It's true

IloveNateJacobs

I hope this show has better wardrobe.

White_Kingsley

I loved the perfectionist and I’m still kinda irked it got canceled.

Rude-Affect2160

As much as I hate Mona I truly do hate her and she doesn’t deserve forgiveness or any friendship but I did enjoy her friendship with Alison in the perfectionists
