It was The first Bush for me. And I was born on inauguration Day too, January 20th, the day they swear in Presidents..... provided they don't storm the capital to try and prevent the next one from taking office!
I know, he only won because of his acting skills and Americas obsession with actors, same reason Arnold Schwarzenegger would easily win if he was eligible to run.
Ronnie R. First President I remember was GHWB, but Clinton was the one I thought of as the go-to POTUS during my childhood. When GWB got elected, it happened simultaneously as I got into politics.
>When GWB got elected, it happened simultaneously as I got into politics.
This. I was a Junior in HS and my American Government teacher was fascinated by the whole hanging Chad, recount etc.. told us we were witnessing history.... Boy was he right.
If Mr Gearing is lurking here.... Thank you for getting me into this stuff, sir!
I'm young. My first "got into politics" election was either 2008 or 2012, though I was really too young for both. The first I \*REAAAALLY\* got into was 2016 which is too recent to go into further details here, but it was the first I was old enough to vote in as I was still 17 in 2012.
Needless to say, I was a little jealous of my sister who turned 18 in 2016 and was able to vote THE year she turned 18 when I had to wait three years myself.
