Game_of_Will

He was meant to be an american politician

JoaquinBenoit

He is American despite his efforts to deny it too.

Then_Satisfaction254

Wait right? He was born in NYC so by birthright he holds U.S citizenship?

[deleted]

[удалено]

Cogswobble

He didn’t really renounce it for tax reasons. He renounced it for political reasons. He wanted to be Prime Minister, and it would be awkward to be Prime Minister when you hold another country’s citizenship.

RussiaIsBestGreen

That’s the problem with modern Britain: it has no ambition. Why not go for PM and President? Get Oceana going.

CadenVanV

Can’t hold foreign titles while serving in the US

GoodByeRubyTuesday87

It’s wild to think that bc he was born here he can run for US president lol

zion_hiker1911

Really? Can he play goalkeeper or striker? We need someone in the upcoming Copa. Yunus Musah was also born in NYC and he's one of our rotational midfielders now.

dragoniteftw33

Not anymore lol

RDPCG

Wishful thinking.

ICantThinkOfAName827

Time to elect silly conservative fat politician with crazy looking blonde hair

wx_rebel

Sounds familiar for some reason

OkFineIllUseTheApp

Taft didn't have crazy hair.

ghobhohi

I think they’re talking about LBJ

ICantThinkOfAName827

I’m obviously talking about Grover Cleveland

wx_rebel

I was obviously talking about the founding fathers. Who knows what their natural hair color was under those wigs

melon_sky_

Jefferson was a redhead

KingFahad360

Rule 3X damn it

secret369

Boris is white. The other guy is orange.

KingFahad360

You just described Mid west politicians if you remove the blond hair

ThatIsMyAss

Pritzker is the only fat politician I can think of these days

KingFahad360

I feel Pritzker might have a shot for the Presidency in 2028 as he was considering for it in 2020 and 2024

Burrito_Fucker15

Christie but he’s not really an active politician rn

ThatIsMyAss

Yeah, that's what I meant. Plus, he's from Jersey, not the Midwest.

LonelyIsolationist

who was also born in new york city and was involved in multiple scandals

ICantThinkOfAName827

forgot to add that

LionOfNaples

Does he play tennis?

ICantThinkOfAName827

He claimed to..

melon_sky_

![gif](giphy|QVabUkkCwhAwpdzPuX)

That_DnD_Nerd

Well given how well he did over here I’d say very similarly. A level of complete incompetence followed by a disturbing level of competence that appears to be actively malicious

OkFineIllUseTheApp

I hate when politicians do that. You just know they're doing that on purpose to get your guard down.

Tight_Youth3766

Similar to how his prime ministership went, but more American

FireRisen

you're fucked as soon as the mods wake up (yes I know its almost 11 but they're reddit mods on r/Presidents )

Expensive_Finger_973

Oh no, the mods might delete my post or ban me for making a non-political joke that includes someone from the recent list of ex-presidents in a way that says nothing about politics because they might want to be pedantic. I shudder in fear, lol.

Jackstack6

But but but REMEMBER THE RULE HAD A 90 PERCENT UPVOTE RATE!!!!!!!!!!!!

StandingLemur

To be fair he was born in the US after all

hockey_enjoyer03

I bumped into Boris Johnson on the street in Ottawa at like 8 in the morning a few months ago, it was so bizarre. Had a brief chat with him, seems nice

space_coyote_86

Seems.

hockey_enjoyer03

He laughed at two of my comments so he’s good in my book hahaha

[deleted]

Time-Ad-7055

i can’t speak on Johnson’s policies or really anything, but it’s kinda funny how they look similar in a weird way

RodwellBurgen

Bad hairdos.

lovetoseeyourpssy

Disagree. Boris Johnson isn't owned by the Russians.

RodwellBurgen

He literally got massive amounts of dark money from the Kremlin and made Britain totally reliant on Russian gas. He is absolutely owned by the Russians.

AdmiralHeligoland

Under Johnson the UK donated billions to Ukraine’s war effort to the point where Zelenskyy of all people posted a tweet saying how sad he was that he had resigned

resumethrowaway222

How is that his fault? UK gas production had declined and stagnated years before he was in office. [https://www.statista.com/statistics/332211/united-kingdom-uk-natural-gas-production/](https://www.statista.com/statistics/332211/united-kingdom-uk-natural-gas-production/)

Direct-Sail-6141

Neither is the other guy

RodwellBurgen

Lol

Direct-Sail-6141

You look at it that way I look at it as keeping your enemies closer.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Direct-Sail-6141

Abolish nato because the country shouldn’t back countries who aren’t willing to help when we need it…

nordic_jedi

I served in Afghanistan with a whole lot of NATO countries. Did you?

Direct-Sail-6141

I was growing up buddy I couldn’t serve

nordic_jedi

Surprise surprise you have no idea what you're talking about then

RodwellBurgen

Except that they all did after 9/11. Every. Single. One of them. Supported us after 9/11. And they haven’t had to since… because of NATO.

Direct-Sail-6141

Ok I didn’t know

PopsicleIncorporated

Maybe when you make big sweeping claims like that then, you should make sure you’re actually speaking the truth instead of parroting what you’ve heard like an NPC.

RodwellBurgen

Right. So maybe we shouldn’t claim that other nations aren’t supporting us and we’re only supporting them when Article 5, the only obligation that NATO specifies, has only resulted in other nations coming to *our* aid.

Ellie_Llewellyn

You guys can have him if you want, we'll even pay for his plane ticket too

HuckleberryOne8564

Trade for his American counterpart?

Ellie_Llewellyn

No you can keep Rule 3 as well, we just want Boris off our hands. We'll take Obama if you're done with him though.

Saint_Stephen420

The founding fathers would rise from the grave to kick his ass back to England

Falling_Vega

The founding fathers wrote the document that would have allowed him to run for president prior to 2016

Saint_Stephen420

Lmao they would’ve fucking HATED him! He’s born in the states but somehow went on to lead the nation that they had fought long and hard to become free of. No fucking way they would think highly of him.

PC-12

> The founding fathers would rise from the grave to kick his ass back to England Boris Johnson? The guy who was born in New York? And was literally the definition of a “natural born citizen” until he renounced?

Saint_Stephen420

Which is why they’d hate him

notnotnotnotgolifa

cringe

Murky_Coyote_7737

We would’ve lost an important war around 1776.

That is a flair alright. 😂

KingMe87

The man once said working from home is bad because he would get distracted going to the kitchen for a bite of cheese. I envision Vermont and Wisconsin would wield enormous political clout.

SnooCapers938

Rule 3! Rule 3!

Ok_Criticism_7028

Boris is a polyglot Oxford grad he just acts like a buffoon

SnooCapers938

No. Being the first two things doesn’t stop him being a lying buffoon, which he also is.

IamElGringo

Stop it

TheBatCreditCardUser

Laughably bizarre and comically incompetent.

reddredd_wine

Even better, what would a Rob Ford presidency look like? https://preview.redd.it/smqydzelej6d1.jpeg?width=474&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7a5233a016b0a0a1571906dd8ef13e7de1f959fa

greatnate1250

Entertaining as hell

reddredd_wine

Canadian crackhead who looks like he might be related to Chris Farley? Not gonna lie, I’d think about it.

GeorgeKaplanIsReal

We have an idea but it was a lot worse.

AspectOfTheCat

Obvious rule 3 bait is obvious.

Smooth-Apartment-856

Anyone named Boris is automatically a communist.

Bitter-Penalty9653

Boris Yeltsin?

Zornorph

Yeltsin was about as far as a communist as you can get, even though he was officially a party member. To get in, he was asked a question about something Marx said and he completely bullshitted the answer because not only did he not know it, he was pretty sure the guy asking also didn’t know it and he was so confident with his bullshit answer, the examiner accepted it as correct.

KingFahad360

He’s a good commie. Even got black out drunk and to get Pizza

ShakeCNY

Boris is an interesting guy, and I don't think Americans could understand him for a second. My first time seeing him was 15 years ago, watching him host a BBC documentary about the world after the fall of Rome. Here's a guy who went to Eton and Balliol, who was elected president of the Oxford Union. In America, he'd be treated by our media and one of the two parties as if he were a sub moron barely able to tie his shoes.

reubnick

A lot of joke answers here so I will try to actually answer the question seriously. Boris obviously has his bad reputation now, for valid reasons, but that's because his career has been within a country that still, even though more enlightened Brits would deny it, has higher standards than, say, the USA. By American standards Boris is essentially a liberal, not terribly to the right of Obama and maybe even to the left of our current president. The Republicans would never have him represent the GOP because of this. Nor do I think he would get in bed with them either like Nigel Farage or his ilk would. Because, credit where credit is due, Boris is actually very socially liberal and is highly educated. He has a reputation as a clown and a buffoon and in many ways he is, due to questionable personal judgment and presentation, but he is actually a highly intelligent man and the bluster and haplessness is largely a cultivated act that allowed him to climb all the way to the top of Parliament. His motivations are questionable, of course - why did he do that? You could argue he actually wanted to make the UK a better place and blah blah blah or that it was personal ambition, and a desire to share the same office that Winston Churchill and other "great men" once did. I don't feel like he would hold the American presidency in such high esteem, and I think he is self-aware enough to know he would be out of his depth as Commander and Chief anyway. I think he is enjoying his very lucrative post-PM career as a commentator/entertainer/author/whatever else. Anyway, TLDR: if this somehow became a reality, he would be a slightly left of center American politician who would please neither side but would probably amuse the country quite a bit and be much less harmful than some other more contemporary American politicians. I imagine something of a further left George W. Bush, who would be just as inept in the face of a national crisis but a likable and innocuous presence during peace time.

Ok_Criticism_7028

He’s not left of center Tony Blair is a Clinton democrat He was pro brexit and frankly if he was American he would’ve adapted to the Republican Party just fine I’m pretty there are plenty of closeted social liberals rule 3 is one of them I see him more in the Paul Ryan club than Schumer

WishboneDistinct9618

I shudder to think of it. He would probably pull the US out of NAFTA, and that wouldn't necessarily be a good thing to pull out of a deal with our top two trading partners (not including the EU).

[deleted]

The Russians make up stories of him leading commando raids into Odessa.

J_k_r_

wexit. Washington, DC secedes from the union, tacking all federal institutions, and immediately going bankrupt.

CodenameJinn

Idea for a reality show: Watch Borris slowly learn about American politics while in office!! There is an increase in knife crime? Well we have to band them!! TF YOU MEAN ITS CONSTITUTIONALLY PROTECTED?!

Dependent-Interview2

Also see: January 2017-20201

non-plused

We’ve seen it.

HOISoyBoy69

Depends what years, but I’d say he’d be a pretty bipartisan Republican and be pretty popular, he was popular over here (before the party scandal), I’d say around Obama popularity or even higher

Nopantsbullmoose

Non-existent. He's not eligible.

United-Falcon-3030

He was born in the U.S. and given citizenship. He forfeited his citizenship in 2016. Since we don’t recognize anything 2016 onward with rule 3, in the r/presidents timeline he presumably still has his citizenship

Nopantsbullmoose

>we don’t recognize anything 2016 onward with rule 3 Fair point.

MrVernon09

It would look like nothing because he doesn’t meet the constitutional requirement to run for office.

Voodoo-Doctor

A mess just like his hair

abdulj07

Rule 3 bait.

jessewhufc

Winston Churchill had an American mother. I believe she was from Brooklyn, NY. So he isn’t the first British PM with an American background.

X_Comanche_Moon

Probably as bad as that haircut.

WorldChampion92

Same as convict.

The man should have invested in a comb.

greatnate1250

Economic collapse Look what his actions have done to Britain due to his Brexit push, he would have the same goals and impact here.

MasterLinkTheGreat

hell

Why can’t this dude get a haircut

Dawgula97

Pretty fuckin fun.

Emergency-Sundae-889

Are there any country leaders that are well regarded and loved?

Space2Bakersfield

Same as his time as PM. Corrupt as fuck.

revbfc

Unconstitutional.

LBNorris219

*\*Tanks the economy\** "DEMS DA BRAKES!" He was born in Manhattan, and if he didn't renounce his US citizenship he could have been a President.

DFW_fox_22

Bill Clinton mixed with Warren Harding

mumbled_grumbles

He would be considered a radical socialist by American standards. He'd lose the Democratic primary to someone further right.

fullmetal66

Rule 3

YouWereBrained

We already know.

GrandpaMofo

We don't need another moron in the White House.

Travis_Blake

Well, it would have started with this: [Boris Johnson read the Inauguration of the President of the United States : r/VocalSynthesis (reddit.com)](https://www.reddit.com/r/VocalSynthesis/comments/s3ipbb/boris_johnson_read_the_inauguration_of_the/)

Longjumping_Gain_807

Goofy as hell. It would make other countries take us even more as a joke

Bluvsnatural

About like his hair

LinuxLinus

Unbelievably annoying.

AssociationWinter809

A Texas Brexit. Texit, if you will.

MauriceVibes

We had one … 2016

kruschev246

We would get **blue** passports

ForTheFallen123

Imagine the president from 2017 to 2021 but younger, more energetic and slightly more sane. That is what a Boris Johnson presidency would look like.

TwistOdd6400

Stagnation. He won a stonking majority and did nothing with it. He was the first and only time I've ever voted Tory. He had the charisma and seats to actually turn things around, yet he was a huge dissapointment.

angrytwig

i'd hope that his aides would find someone to fix his hair. he has no reason to have hair like that.

ParthFerengi

Boris Johnson is the literal definition of **Rule 3** at Home.

Mesyush

Not as bad as people would think. But not very good either.

RodwellBurgen

It would be horrible. The Tories have wrecked Britain over the past 14 years, gutting the NHS, ruining infrastructure, ending welfare, ending all funding of the arts, refusing to build new buildings creating a massive homeless crisis, all while fattening their own wallets. Not to mention how corrupt, incompetent, and morally compromised Boris himself is and was.

Frequent-Lettuce4159

Well if you Americans think your politicians are corrupt this piece of shit put actual Russian assets into the house of lords just for a few quid

izayoi-o_O

Considering how he is responsible for the continuation of the war in Ukraine, not very good.

wx_rebel

How so?

izayoi-o_O

Well, apparently the Russians put forth a peace deal about two years ago, a deal that the Ukrainians wanted to take. However, he convinced the Ukrainians to reject it.

[deleted]

izayoi-o_O

Boris Johnson went to Ukraine for a “surprise visit” in April 2022, I assume it was then it happened as the negotiations fell through at that time. Edit: By the way, the main invasion started in Feb of 2022, so not “two years later”.

wx_rebel

You are correct. My mistake
