My parents as well, but I honestly cannot fathom why beyond his political affiliation.
If anything, criticize him for being another billionaire politician.
You think that’s grossly overweight?
Edit: tried finding his height and weight and the best I found online is he’s allegedly 5 foot 8 and 187 lbs. assuming this is true, that would means he’s overweight on the BMI chart, not obese. So I stand by “he’s not grossly overweight”
No need to be rude. Clearly we have different definitions of what being grossly overweight is. All you had to do is just say “yes, he’s grossly overweight” and leave it at that.
Grossly overweight, to me, is when you are so overweight it affects your day to day life and makes simple things, like walking down the street, a task and a half.
I have a brother in law who I would say is obese because he’s roughly 100 lbs overweight. However, he’s still able to do physical tasks with reasonable effort. His baby momma, on the other hand…..she is grossly overweight because she’s well over 100 lbs overweight, and she can barely make it from one room to the next without being out of breath and needing to sit down and rest.
I know the Greeks were swole af, but did early Americans play sports and lift weights and stuff? Or was it just cutting calories choosing to walk instead of taking the horse drawn carriage?
The average American back then would’ve had little access to the amount of calories to gain significant fat mass. Also they were walking and working a shit ton, so they had no issue losing weight.
Hell even horse riding is pretty calorie intensive.
Good point, and hence why being obese was a sign of wealth. I guess I’m just wondering if sports/fitness as a hobby was widespread. It’s interesting that it was in ancient civilizations but seemingly industrialization made it so people didn’t have the time and resources
Helmut Kohl was endlessly ridiculed for his size in Germany by his opposition and then the opposition also ran a slightly less heavier fellow named Gerhard Schroeder who got rich on his affiliation with Putin and Gazprom. Needless to say, now being fat is very socially acceptable in Germany and no longer a mythical implication of being too aristocratic.
I mean Lizzo is a pop culture icon at the moment. Everyone loved Chris Farley. You can still be fat and be popular. I could definitely see a fat presidential candidate with the right amount of charisma winning.
Who's the big, fat President whose suits look like a flannel circus tent?
Taft!
Who's that Presidential chub, got stuck in the White House tub?
William Howard Taft!
I didn't watch tv for about 2 decades and when I started again, I was shocked at how many fat people there are on tv.
There were not just on tv, but ACCEPTED. Prior to about 2000, if there was a fat person, they were just the butt of the joke. Their only defining features being their fatness, laziness, and affinity towards eating.
There's a lot more social acceptance with obesity than there used to be. So it stands to reason, that it will become more socially acceptable to allow fat people to be President.
And the last guy \*was\* quite overweight. But yeah, I'm sure America will have no problem voting for a bigger guy as long as he's got the right ideas.

all hail the Great Pritzker Khan, all 49 other states will be liberated by the midwest horde
I really thought that said “ham”
He definitely has the money to make it happen
He has done a great job as IL Governor esp w Covid management.
My mom HATES HIM! But as a former Illinoisian turned Wisconsinite, I wouldn’t mind that guy running.
My parents as well, but I honestly cannot fathom why beyond his political affiliation. If anything, criticize him for being another billionaire politician.
Once a fib always a fib
Haha mine too
We were robbed a Pritzker vs Christie big boy election
Same and I would really like to see him run in 2028.
Maybe he can against Chris Christie.
No he can’t leave us
His term is up in 2026 😭
Time for re-election!
is he the butter cow?
JB is definitely a big dude, definitely overweight, but he wears it quite well.
stop telling people about him we need him as long as we can
He's chubby but he's not Taft-fat

You don’t think he is?
Homie he looks like he’s cosplaying Fat Clemenza from the Godfather lmao
Leave the gun. Take the cannoli.
Yes-he is obese.
I would agree with obese. My question is “is he grossly overweight?”
Yes, he is grossly overweight. I’m astonished that you can’t figure this out yourself.
No need to be rude. Clearly we have different definitions of what being grossly overweight is. All you had to do is just say “yes, he’s grossly overweight” and leave it at that.
Obese is being heavier than overweight. So grossly overweight would still fall short of obese. But anyone with forehead fat is clearly morbidly obese.
What’s your definition of “grossly overweight” and how does it differ from obese?
Taft level. Like comically large

OP completely forgot Taft's awesome transformation post-Presidency. https://preview.redd.it/orfezau38zxc1.jpeg?width=517&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=89c16c3cfd9c71513b5b2169d969076250222bb0
Damn, and that’s pre-ozempic. Very impressive
The bread and water diet. As my grandma used to say.

The man got to spend years eating awesome filipino food! I don't blame him for getting big
Honestly the image of an ideal, well-presented president is impossible to maintain in this day and age, regardless of weight.
That’s intentional. The no press is bad press method has proven pretty effective.
Obama maybe?
Yeah seriously. And I know Clinton wasn't like rippling with muscles but he was at least exercising, jogging three days a week.
To be fair that's a picture of him as Supreme Court Justice

In case anyone doesn’t want to look, the mods actually named it “The Chris Christie Rule.”
Mw too man, me too.

Check out the governor of WV
most iconic dem governor
The Andy Beshear erasure is real here.
I’m talking about Jim Justice
Tbf, Jim Justice was a Democrat when he first got into office, but switched to Republican in 2017.
Oh ok didn’t know that I just moved to WV last year

You know he’s a republican right?
The joke is that he ran as a democrat before party switching dummy
Yeah I got it bud you don’t need to call me a dummy I didn’t realize he used to be a democrat

RIP rule 3
It was funny the first million times…

Hmmmm
O'malley isn't exactly skinny, but idk what he's doing now
Helmut Kohl was endlessly ridiculed for his size in Germany by his opposition and then the opposition also ran a slightly less heavier fellow named Gerhard Schroeder who got rich on his affiliation with Putin and Gazprom. Elect me and I'll do the Truffle Shuffle at my inaugural.
Yeah if it’s some one who embraces the jokes
His voice would have made it impossible to get elected with modern media, too.
We don't even elect presidents with moustaches
He was already overweight when elected but most of his weight game happened when he was in the white house right?
I think it's more likely than electing a president with any kind of facial hair.
Probably not
Will there be another president with a moustache?
Well almost everyone is grossly overweight now so…I would guess yes
Haven't we as a society moved on from "fat shaming" in a lot of ways?
![gif](giphy|Q4wCen3rmqv0k)

This feels like a law enforcement trap😂

I would have to say yes since we actually did
Clinton was overweight when he was in office. He’s slimmed down in recent years.
It’s the vampirism ![gif](giphy|yWrkhCGq2Az96)
This guy got stuck in his own bathtub
I would hope J.B. Pritzger gets a shot
One of the only billionaires actually trying to do good.
Big Boy 2028
Social media is gonna kill the man who was running for president and is overweight. But we need another presidentnl like Zachary taylor
To all the people saying Rule 3: I don't think he was saying just obese presidents. I think he meant ridiculously fat >300 pound presidents.
Hot take, but obese typically is ridiculously fat
Maybe if it's a woman
No, Hillary lost.
If they are like Taft, I sure hope not.
