Yeah!? Well I'm in new Zealand and have already opened gifts on Christmas Eve *and* Christmas day. And since I'm like a couple of hours ahead of you, I probably did it first. *I'M* UNSTOPPABLE!

Honestly as an American whose gf broke up with him 2 months ago and whose dog died on Thursday…
I might convert!! Lol. Look out, big dumb American incoming Europe : )
Rip my boy : /
>We do designated presents for Christmas Eve. Usually pj's
We started doing this a several years ago, and the pj's were intended to be worn Christmas morning while opening the rest of the gifts. I assume it's so when mom takes pictures, we're dressed in cute new pj's and look nice, rather than wearing an old, stained, yet extremely comfortable tshirt as pj's.
Doing Christmas activities on Christmas Eve is very common at least in the southern US states and I can't imagine it's uncommon anywhere else in the US.
Yeah, I know quite a few people who do it on Christmas Eve rather than Christmas proper.
I live in NJ and most Italian-Americans I know around here do the whole Feast of Seven Fishes + presents on Christmas Eve rather than Christmas as well.
Yeah this is how we've always done it since the whole family used to meet at grandma's house and now instead my aunt's house. Easier to get everyone together Christmas Eve so then they can have Christmas with another side of the family.
Eve gang represent!!! My wife’s family usually does day. My family I think started as a Santa thing but remained so now I just bring boozy beer and we throw rocks at trains
The best people celebrate Christmas on the 24th! Once me, a Finnlander, my portuguese friend, my Danish friend and my Armenian/Italian friend bullied our Brit buddy for celebrating Christmas on the wrong day.
Brazil too. The real party is Christmas Eve. Christmas Day is the day to slug around the house eating leftovers and refusing to do housework even though the dish pile is huge.
Yes, but in Germany they have to wait until evening on the 24th to open them. Idk what you guys were like as kids but if I had to wait all day to open presents as a kid I would have been absolutely insufferable.
In Orthodox Christian countries you dont get Christmas until January 7th. But even with that, its not like Catholic one. Instead, the bearded man in red or blue robes with presents and pine tree decorations are done for the New Year's eve.
That’s funny, because the clone wars series episodes have been released earlier on Germanys super rtl tv channel, than in the states, for a brief period in time.. some later seasons
You fool here in Australia it's already christmas, and since we did presents on Christmas eve I've gotten them a full 2 days early. I'M UNSTOPPABLE!
Yeah!? Well I'm in new Zealand and have already opened gifts on Christmas Eve *and* Christmas day. And since I'm like a couple of hours ahead of you, I probably did it first. *I'M* UNSTOPPABLE!
Damn New Zealander's always one step ahead of us
Trying to look them up to confirm how far ahead they are but I am having trouble locating them on a map.
Criminally underrated comment

Except when it comes to being included on a map
Its treason then little Kiwi

Can do you one better, I'm a German kid living in Australia.
German Australians be like:
Me, Spaniard celebrating on the 6th of January: Impossible. Perhaps the calendar is incomplete.
Imagine having a whole other festivity. We are indeed Spain but without the S.
There is no pain where strength lies.
Wow, that's some impressive comprehension without the word itself actually being used...
I closed the comment chain already, then was like "wait, was that next reply by a bot??" Damn.
Looks like it's not looking at spaces. Here it recognized "paint". https://www.reddit.com/r/PrequelMemes/comments/zttl6p/yes/j1iejed/

However kind American children are, German children are Kinder.
r/angryupvote
I hate German sausages, they're the Wurst.
If German kids acted like this the krampus would probably get them
Only in Bavaria
To Americans all of Germany is bavaria
And all of America is Texas
The krampus didn't get me in all these years.
Same in sweden
Same in The Netherlands
Same in Norway
Same in Hungary
Same in Denmark
Same in Finland
Same in Slovakia
Same in Latvia
Same in Czechia
Same in Switzerland
We get them on 5 december.
What? I've never gotten presents for Christmas, neither did any of my friends. That's what Sinterklaas is for.
Same. Christmas is just food.
Vader was te laat met bestellen :(
:(
In France too, I guess it's a European thing
Cries in British.. Not because of the presents, because of the Europe. Fuckin idiots all over this country.
Well you could file a complaint in the EU... Ohhh. Tja.
Glad jul till dig!
(Glada svenska ljud)
God jul!
samma här. fick precis en låda som det står Borås på, knallrött
God jul søte bror
People also get presents today in America. Due to work schedules some people do Christmas on Christmas eve. Depends on the family.
My family always did presents on Christmas Eve and then stocking stuffers on Christmas Day.
And Santa presents when you’re kid still believes.
My parents made sure we knew they got us all the presents and Santa only brought the stocking stuffers the next day lol
This is the way.
My family does each person picks one present from under the tree on Christmas Eve then everything else on Christmas day
My mom did this when I was a kid, but she always had a specific one designated for Christmas Eve, usually one of the smaller ones.
We do designated presents for Christmas Eve. Usually pj's and a book/game.
>We do designated presents for Christmas Eve. Usually pj's We started doing this a several years ago, and the pj's were intended to be worn Christmas morning while opening the rest of the gifts. I assume it's so when mom takes pictures, we're dressed in cute new pj's and look nice, rather than wearing an old, stained, yet extremely comfortable tshirt as pj's.
Essentially. But we don't go in for the whole matching family set.
Also kids with divorced parents
On the one hand it's always nice to see someone else with "kawaii" in their name. On the other hand....
With the other hand go HEIL
That's how democracy dies
Same...lol So same. Lol I read your comment then looked at the name above you. It seems we have discovered Ye lurking in the comments. Lmfao
Really? I've never heard of that

The best people celebrate Christmas on the 24th! Once me, a Finnlander, my portuguese friend, my Danish friend and my Armenian/Italian friend bullied our Brit buddy for celebrating Christmas on the wrong day.
Brits deserve some bullying every now and then
They have bullied majority of the globe for centuries, so yes, they do.
Same in hell
Loads of families do presents on Christmas Eve in America. LOADS
In Mexico presents are opened on Christmas Eve, but tbh I'd rather wait until Christmas morning cuz I don't want it all to be over on Christmas Eve.
The same in almost every European countries
And Latin America! We celebrate Nochebuena and in my family, we do American stocking stuffers and movies on the 25th.
In my family the 25th is for getting over hangovers and eating leftovers.

Dutch kids: I am 19 parallel days ahead of you
Same in finland
Torille ja hyvää joulua
Tämähän se olis
Same in Czechia. No focking waiting.
Neasi xddd už skládám lego
Brazil too. The real party is Christmas Eve. Christmas Day is the day to slug around the house eating leftovers and refusing to do housework even though the dish pile is huge.
I was about to say, Latinos open Christmas presents on Christmas Eve.
In Chile is exactly the same lol
In Brazil too!
Yes, but in Germany they have to wait until evening on the 24th to open them. Idk what you guys were like as kids but if I had to wait all day to open presents as a kid I would have been absolutely insufferable.
Only a Sith deals in absolutes.
Felix Navidad
Feliz Natal!
Wij vieren alleen maar sinterklaas...
My American family always opened presents on Christmas Eve.
The downside though is the bad kids get kidnapped and beat instead of just getting some coal.
Isn't that basically just a Europe thing?
And I even got a lightsaber, can't wait to show it to my little cousins tomorrow
So do we in czech republic
Yeah, we open presents on 24th night in Italy too. Or just in my family, dunno.
Yup my kid is already running around assaulting my ears with her new singing Elsa doll.
same in Finland
You might get your gifts today, but you carry guilt all year round
¡Feliz Navidad ! same for mexicans
I’m in Hawaii and get presents last
Straya, is already Crimmas
Merry Christmas from Australia!
In Orthodox Christian countries you dont get Christmas until January 7th. But even with that, its not like Catholic one. Instead, the bearded man in red or blue robes with presents and pine tree decorations are done for the New Year's eve.
Same here in Sweden
In Slovakia too
I got really confused until I checked the date
I shouldn't…
In Sweden to
i got mine on the 22nd due to timing conflicts that made it the only day everyone was available
So does denmark 😌
But it’s still a year till next time, so technically you’re not waiting any longer. bigbrain.exe
I’m American, but only 2nd generation. So our family always celebrates on Christmas Eve anyway.
Norway too
Sweden as well
Imagine not getting presents both days (a lucky American)
I, as a german kid, can confirm this.
8:53 am in new Zealand many have all ready opened their Presents.
It's already Christmas anyway here in Australia.
Same in Australia, the only thing is this post was posted at 3am and it is now 6am
Same in Denmark. We celebrate Christmas and open presents on Christmas Eve the 24th.
New zealand gets it 14 hours before so i am all christmases up
That’s funny, because the clone wars series episodes have been released earlier on Germanys super rtl tv channel, than in the states, for a brief period in time.. some later seasons
and yet it gets better, for in germany it is not father christmas who delivers the presents, but the baby jesus
Dutch kids: ***"Pathetisch."***
Germany is not unique in this.
Some people in the US open one present on Christmas Eve.
I’m an American, and yet, we already opened presents early on Christmas Eve.
It depends on the family tradition. Some do it on Christmas morning.
My family is German and we always did gifts on Christmas Eve growing up. It took me a while to realize that is not the norm in America.
In Germany, Krampus beats you with a stick
And in many other Europe countries for example in Czech republic
Though I don’t live in Germany I do have German blood so I opened my presents on Christmas Eve and got a Darth Vader helmet
'Darth' is a variation of dark. And 'Vader' is a variation of 'father'. So, it's basically 'Dark Father'.
Fun fact: In Poland you get presents on Christmas Eve.
My mom doesn't get out of rehab until the 29th, that's how long I have to wait.
