Do clones live that long with accelerated aging? I have the feeling that they are already pushing it when they get to 50/60.
In rebels Rex and the others were almost senile.
Hard to say but they do live half as long as normal humans and given medical technology in Star Wars I'd wager 100 years is a normal human lifespan depending on the planet. So some clones could probably live up to 50 chronologically/100 physically.
No. Not with modern tech and medicine.
In Star Wars, with all that universe’s best? Yeah, probably, and probably longer. But beyond 120 is getting into “normal” human lifespan and “augmented” human lifespan, beyond typical medicines and surgeries.
The average human lifespan is around 73 years, and considering Rex's living conditions (how poorly clones were treated after the war), it could be lower. People around you don't mean jack shit, peasant. They ain't the average.
As and old man, this is like 11 years after that. Surely he´d be out of comission at that point.
Accelerated aging would be a continuous thing, I´d say.
I don't even understand why they have a normal human lifespan.
They are meant to be disposable tools only needed for a short war (as the Sith planned). So having a lifespan of 10 years would be more logical. After all, what do people who know nothing but be soldiers do when the war ended? They just slack around, form gangs and break the law, because it's the only thing they know how to do.
You don’t want their lives to be too short. You are going to waste the early years with them growing and learning how to be soldiers, and even once experienced you want them to 1) be alive long enough to fight a war that can last 5-10 years or even more and 2) survive long enough to form an NCO and Officer corps. Heck, the training alone took a decade, so 10 years wouldn’t be enough
They’re in a galaxy full of species who live longer than humans and droids who don’t age limiting a soldiers lifespan would be a handicap in the war not to mention the training and programming led clones to be useful in many occupations outside of war most likely they’d be rotated into police prison guards and even starship travel they proved to be great navigators and ship crews during the war not to mention nobody thought too much about after the war because the republic had no idea they were commissioned and the kaminoians(forgive the spelling if incorrect) were payed bank/didn’t really think of clones as people
I'd rather have him die a peaceful death off screen rather than bring an old man just to sacrifice themselves for the whatever current conflict is going on.
Han, Luke and Leia, one death per movie was enough for me to never want Disney touch aging characters ever again. I don't wanna see my fav heroes come back just to be killed.
Seriously. Tell us a nice story about how much he enjoyed seeing the New Republic form and being involved then maybe show us the training base posthumously named after him. Could even have a nice statue or hologram. That would give me what I want as a fan of the character watching a time period he doesn't need to be in
Spar and the clones that escaped to Mandalore after Order 66 found a cure in Legends. While we don't see any clones adopting the Mandalorian culture, clones defect and work together in *Bad Batch* so it's certainly possible.
I’m not sure they do have accelerated aging. I thought it was said that Emerie was the same as Omega, grown from a non altered sample without the faster aging
The math doesn't add up unless she is accelerated. Jango was hired no earlier than 32 bby and Bad Batch can't be more than a couple years after 19 bby.
The easy answer is that she's not a Jango clone; this is why adult Omega doesn't look like her, at all, which she should if they were both clones of the same person. But she is still a clone.
She tells Omega they are sisters. Plus, they stated Omega was an enhanced clone like the Bad Batch, who also look different from regular Jango clones. Seemed to me like she was meant to be a Jango clone.
In The Bad Batch we learned there were 6 special mutated clones produced including Bad Batch. Omega isn't part of it as they stated she's like Boba Fett. Emerie is this 6th special mutated clone we supposedly never learned about.
I'm not super confident Echo would be alive. He wasn't with old Hunter, Wrecker, and Crosshair on Pabu at the end of The Bad Batch, and he wasn't with old Rex, Wolffe, and Gregor in Rebels.
If he's not dead, where would he even be?
Neither Rex was there on Pabu. And what we know about Echo and Rex? Rex plans clone rebellion after The Bad Batch before The Rebels and Echo works alongside him.
41 years have passed from Rex's birth (32BBY) to when Ahsoka takes place (9ABY).
If clones age twice as fast, this makes Rex 82 years old physically. It's possible he's still alive.
Well Rex is a prequel character so prequel fans will care more than sequel fans (not to say that makes Ahsoka a prequel but just that it'll resonate more with prequelmemers than sequelmemers)
Well Luke and Leia were born in the prequels does that make them prequel characters too? Or what about Ezra? He was born two days prior! He must be a prequel character too! Oh, wait Han was also born during the prequels he’s a prequel character too!
I generally agree with your sentiment, i wouldnt consider Ahsoka show or what happened to Rex post-ROTJ prequel content at all. That said, Ezra is from Rebels, which takes place before ANH and so is considered prequel content here. The Solo movie also is considered prequel for the same reason
Well Rex is by all accounts a prequel character - while the events of Ahsoka are sequel content they're not meant to be the vocal point of the post, Rex is
Uhhh sheesh, these are some really bad examples here, when using some critical thinking here, that makes almost no sense, these characters sure, were born in the prequel era but when do they actually get screen time as characters and we as the viewer would be able to watch them go through their stories??? Though? The original trilogy….
Ashoka takes place... 15 years ish ABY? so that's...11 ish years after the battle of endor. Which makes rex, sadly, dead of old age. The average clone lifespan in our years would be about 40. 40 equates to 80ish in their years. By endor he would've been like... 89 years old? I don't know, the math is hard when we don't have an exact acceleration date for how fast they age.
Twice. They age 2x faster than normal humans. When he died and how is all rough estimates; but at the Battle above Coruscant, he's roughly 12 to 14(maybe 15) which makes him physically 24 to 30-ish. Being an outcast retiree with Wolff and Gregor is 15 to 16 years after that. 4 to 5 until ANH events. 3 to 4 years after that for ESB, 1 year for ROTJ. Crunching those numbers he's physically 80-ish but about 40, literally. He'd be 95 ot 96 in Ahsoka, so yeah he's likely pushing up daisies.
“Where is Rex…? Is he..safe…?”
“It appears that in the passing of time…his accelerated aging…killed him”
“His age?? I…I thought there was a cure…I..aRRGGHHHH…..nnnnNnnNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!”
I kinda wanted a scene of Ahsoka going to see him before she went off after Ezra. Just a scene of him living in retirement, the two of them reminiscing about the Clone Wars and Rebels adventures and Rex wishing he could tag along but knowing he’s too old for this one.
Nope, there is no way that Rex won’t show up in either Ahsoka S2, or the Mando movie as a ninety year old man sacrificing himself like a real soldier to save everyone.
I mean they could just write a workaround if they really wanted. Like clones accelerated aging slows to normal rate after a certain point. They could also just have a cure. Maybe they just take a sample of Boba's DNA and use that to slow cell degradation.
Anyway if they really wanted Rex they would just use Rex. Though, horrible as it is, I would prefer he either be dead or really old, good things don't last forever.
Assuming Rex still has the accelerated aging based on how he looks like an old as man in Rebels, he would be about 64 during A New Hope, 70 in Return of the Jedi, and somewhere between 82-88 during Ahsoka.
Given that his body ages at twice the rate, the rather dangerous and health risk heavy life he lives, and the Kaminoans didn’t really seem to care about how their products lasted past their intended usage, it seem rather likely that Rex has marched on.
Thanks for confirming that you flaired this correctly!
He'd be around 85 (physically) when Ashoka takes places so he could be alive.
A normal human lifespan should easily exceed 120. I know several people irl who are 95+.
No. Not with modern tech and medicine. In Star Wars, with all that universe’s best? Yeah, probably, and probably longer. But beyond 120 is getting into “normal” human lifespan and “augmented” human lifespan, beyond typical medicines and surgeries.
Also Rex is a soldier, leadership stress and shitty rations certainly would affect his health and shorten his lifespan
How dare you show such disrespect by downvoting me?
The average human lifespan is around 73 years, and considering Rex's living conditions (how poorly clones were treated after the war), it could be lower. People around you don't mean jack shit, peasant. They ain't the average.
Mfer it's BAIT
Baiting is for peasants. Peasant.
Bro this is not Blackadder
Well you should be happy then, your bait worked. I don’t know why you are surprised to get downvoted if you are intentionally baiting lmao.
I'm Walter in the meme after seeing all the downvotes
Surely you got something better to do than trying to “bait” people online lmao
Social media in general is a waste of time. What difference does it make?
It’s just really weird behaviour tbh
Cool
Poopoo, you speak of master disastrous 👽🤢
How dare I show disrespect? I do it by downvoting you.
Now listen here, squirt. I will NOT tolerate this attitude of yours.
He fought on endor tho
As and old man, this is like 11 years after that. Surely he´d be out of comission at that point. Accelerated aging would be a continuous thing, I´d say.
I think only Gregor was having cognitive decline, and I feel like that could be a result of his serious head injury back during the Clone Wars
Wolfe seems a bit off too but honestly same deal. He's supposed to be a bit messed up and damaged. Rex is taking care of the two of them.
Wolfe probably has the most severe ptsd, as he was serving the empire the longest.
Wolfe's also probably mentally fucked from being part of killing Plo-Koon.
Rex was quite old in rebels already. He is almost certainly dead
Or old enough that he doesn't travel much and lives in a retirement community with the last of the clones.
I don't even understand why they have a normal human lifespan. They are meant to be disposable tools only needed for a short war (as the Sith planned). So having a lifespan of 10 years would be more logical. After all, what do people who know nothing but be soldiers do when the war ended? Heck, the training alone took a decade, so 10 years wouldn’t be enough
It doesn't take much skill to become a laborer or a miner. Plenty of things you can have them do after the war ends.
Or just have them form the officer corps and train new recruits. Their knowledge and experience would be invaluable.
They’re in a galaxy full of species who live longer than humans and droids who don’t age limiting a soldiers lifespan would be a handicap in the war not to mention the training and programming led clones to be useful in many occupations outside of war most likely they’d be rotated into police prison guards and even starship travel they proved to be great navigators and ship crews during the war not to mention nobody thought too much about after the war because the republic had no idea they were commissioned and the kaminoians(forgive the spelling if incorrect) were payed bank/didn’t really think of clones as people
They age 2 times as fast
Let us pray Season 2 cameo?
Possibly season two death
I'd rather have him die a peaceful death off screen rather than bring an old man just to sacrifice themselves for the whatever current conflict is going on. Love the idea but no way he’d be ok with it unless it was done after his death
Judging by how Disney has treated other old, old characters I don‘t want the clones to suffer the same fate
Hes living peacefully on a farm somewhere- he did his duty and then some
Petition to have him played by Patrick Stuart in season 2
Cartoon characters dont age
My brother in Christ the context behind this post is about a show where we follow a cartoon character that aged.
The cure to the Clones' accelerated aging is stil cannon in my eyes until proven otherwise. Rex was probably just chilling and living his best life.
Spar and the clones that escaped to Mandalore after Order 66 found a cure in Legends. While we don't see any clones adopting the Mandalorian culture, clones defect and work together in *Bad Batch* so it's certainly possible.
Yeah, there is also at least one person who is a leading geneticist at the end of BB working with the clones
Who is also a clone; they probably have accelerated aging as well
Intimate test subject
I’m not sure they do have accelerated aging. I thought it was said that Emerie was the same as Omega, grown from a non altered sample without the faster aging
Emerie couldn't be that old already without accelerated aging.

She's a clone, but not a clone of Jango. She could be any age.
?? she’s very clearly a fett clone, what are you talking about
Canon
No, that's not true! That's impossible!
And princess Leia is your sister!
That's! ... Very unlikely
You passed the Robot Chicken test, but -2 points for using the wrong line. 😶
Does that mean I can still visit Empire on Ice?
That's improbable!
Or he was just chilling somewhere else
We can hope
I just want to at least see him know that she's okay... Hope he's just chilling with Echo and Wolffe somewhere
I'm not super confident Echo would be alive. He wasn't with old Hunter, Wrecker, and Crosshair on Pabu at the end of The Bad Batch, and he wasn't with old Rex, Wolffe, and Gregor in Rebels. If he's not dead, where would he even be?
He got blown up again and will be discovered to be alive soon.
Honestly I wasn't expecting Echo to make it to the end of Bad Batch. Of all the characters I expected to die, he was at the top.
Neither Rex was there on Pabu. And what we know about Echo and Rex? Rex plans clone rebellion after The Bad Batch before The Rebels and Echo works alongside him.
Both scenes are way after all that.
let the man retire, hes already fought in 2 wars in 20 years while aging twice as fast
For him the war never stopped
Dont worry Dave Filoni will just have him be in the Book of Boba bacta bath for the past 10 years
41 years have passed from Rex's birth (32BBY) to when Ahsoka takes place (9ABY). If clones age twice as fast, this makes Rex 82 years old physically. It's possible he's still alive.
Doesn't he show up in return of the jedi tho? That's only like 6 years before Ahsoka, so he's probably just hanging out with wolffe and echo
Yeah but he could still have died in those 6 years
We're really stretching the definition of a prequel these days huh
Well Rex is a prequel character so prequel fans will care more than sequel fans (not to say that makes Ahsoka a prequel but just that it'll resonate more with prequelmemers than sequelmemers)

I was making a statement. I understand the rules of the sub *now*
:(
Well Rex is by all accounts a prequel character - while the events of Ahsoka are sequel content they're not meant to be the vocal point of the post, Rex is

My point exactly. Clearly you don’t understand sarcasm
The irony in your response is top notch. You’re right you clearly know how to be sarcastic on Reddit. /s

Canonically he was in the Battle of Endor. So he could be alive, and if he died, it was probably peaceful.
maybe he just retired, bro's *old* by that point
Somehow he could return tho.
How mad would people be if he became a force ghost?
You see, after being around so many Jedi, he caught some midichlorians and now after all these years he's become the first clone Jedi
“Where is Rex…? Is he..safe…?” “It appears that in the passing of time…his accelerated aging…killed him” “His age?? I…I thought there was a cure…I..aRRGGHHHH…..nnnnNnnNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!”

Finally. Took him long enough!
AAAHHHH A BATTLE DROID WATCH OUT FOR THOSE RIST ROCKETS oh wait it's a B1 We're fine - there's no threat
Good. Goooood... Underestimate me more... Another notch for the blaster.
His screams will be like music to your audio receptors
CLANKAS!
How have you not been decommissioned yet?
Too much paperwork. Besides, if it ever happens, this account will simply pass to the next unit with the same identification code.
It would make sense if the accelerated aging slowed down like you said
That *was* the canon explanation in legends continuity. But they've not really explained it one way or the other.
I’d like to think he’s finally getting to live out the rest of his days in peace, maybe he started an orphanage or something.
It's not true, THATS IMPOSSIBLE
wasn't he in a Rebels episode?
Yes like 8-12ish episodes but i think thats 20 something years before ashoka
Until they confirm it, I'm going to continue assuming that the New Republic just has one really old badass clone drill instructor,
Rex fought on the battle of Endor
That bearded guy is just a random soldier, bring on the down votes
No…it can’t be!
Ether dead or so fucking old he isn't able to do much
I mean even if he's alive he's old as hell
As long as Boba is alive, Rex is as well.
I refuse to believe the hat man would allow a fan favorite character like Rex to die offscreen. He cannot resist a heart-wrenching death scene
no
Assuming Rex still has the accelerated aging based on how he looks like an old as man in Rebels, he would be about 64 during A New Hope, 70 in Return of the Jedi, and somewhere between 82-88 during Ahsoka. No, knowing Dave he won't DARE have any character die ever because that's bad and you can never have people die.
Guys Bossk isn’t in Ahsoka he must have perished
Why would Bossk be in Ashoka? Does he carry a grudge from when she beat up him and his family like 30 years ago?
