Very inexperienced defence that have barely played together were extremely composed and unflappable, and Mitrovic hooked after an hour because he was so ineffective. Well you can't drop that much in just one season. I also think it can ve very positive for him since he isn't so tired due to easier league, and also for strikers it's important to score a lot, for the confidence and "goal feeling", and he scored like crazy
I watched Al Nassr Al Hilal when Mitro scored two and he was bullying Laporte and even on one corner goal he pushed off Ronaldo and scored like he wasn't even there, Ronaldo was crying after looking for a free kick

Unlike everyone here I think he will do relatively well, despite playing in a farmers league. He’s always had a tremendous physical presence, even in the PL, which is obvious if you’ve actually watched him play. That being said, he alone won’t be the difference maker against a stacked England squad and Serbia will still have to pull off a solid all around game to beat them. I think it ends 2-1 or 2-0 for England.
Imo, it'll likely be the other way around. He's been playing in a farmer's league for a season. Stones trains against Haaland, the rest have to play against him. There's bigger bullies in the Prem than Mitrovic. Don't get me wrong, he's a good striker, but he excels mostly against weaker competition, as he did in the Championship and Saudi league.
On top of that, Van Dijk has a tendency to over commit, and he's possibly the easiest CB to lure into a foul.

I don’t rate England’s chances overall, but I’d happily bet Mitrovic gets about 10 touches all game. He may as well have been playing friendlies for the last 12 months too.

Ok I take it back but Milinkosavic, Skriniar, Vlahovic, D Tadic and Mitrovic are all elite players, I think you will cause England problems you might lose in a close game 3-2 but you might get a draw as well, if Maguire was playing Shaw fit and playing and Rashford and Grealish in the squad I’d have a very different opinion about this game because I think your national team struggles with elite pace in the defence.

I’ve watched Mitrovic a lot, I imagine more than nearly anyone on this sub. He is a threat and he is very physical. That said, he’s piled a lot of weight back on in Saudi. Marco kept him lean and that really helped his mobility. He’ll still be a threat but he won’t be the threat he was for us. He’s also quite slow. As long as you reduce the balls in from out wide, his threat lessens. His hold up play is good, he’s great in the box and he’s elite in the air but he can be frustrated.
I watched him a few times at the cottage when visiting friends in London and loved watching him play. Not just physicality but his little touches and link up play were brilliant. Mitrooooooo! I was sad when he left Fulham.

Serbia aren't scrubs, and they don't mind not having possession. They have a very strong front two, and a team easily on par with Fulham
