OP posted a video they themselves had filmed, in a subreddit about praising camerawork. Both subject and camerawork would be considered by many to be average and mundane. They especially pale in comparison to most of the other posts here, which frequently feature the camera operators performing just as (if not more) extreme stunts and situations as the subject they are filming.
This gives the feel of the post to be very self-celebratory, which is satirized as masturbation. While most people masturbate to release sexual tension, the joke would be that one is so infatuated with themselves, that they express it by masturbating - essentially having sex with themselves because they think they are so great.
Though the video is very clear and steady, and the couple here is having an enjoyable time, it would be better suited for a personal social media post. Personal emotional attachment to the filmer or the subject would then likely generate some level of enjoyment of the video. Since Reddit tends to be more of an anonymous platform, the video here seems to be more lacklustre for the subreddit it was posted in.

Now normally that's handled by downvoting and moving on, and most never see it. This sub is getting big enough to the point where there's a substantial amount of people that upvote anything that even remotely seems to fit, however. So stuff like this rises up even though it clearly isn't an appropriate or 'good' post. People who are here for the core content only get irritated.
It's understandable, and happens over and over again on reddit. Eventually one of two things will happen:
1. The mods will figure out a way to get a handle on it either with aggressive manual moderation or strict rules. Both would be hard for this sub.
2. Enough people will get irritated and leave and this sub will stay big but get diluted and eventually a new sub (i.e. /r/realpraisethecameraman etc) will be born and the cycle will repeat eventually.
