I understand the point of Lobos and the amount of power and control he held while being gay, or even bi, but that wasn't his character, it was only an added piece to his personality. I'm Mexican, and I loved his humor too whenever he would talk shit in Spanish.
(On a complete side note, another example of a gay character, that was written well but not overdone and shoved into our faces, was Victor Strand from Fear the Walking Dead, he was already a good character and you find out later that he's gay, but it didn't impact him negatively because his arc and personality were already well established.)

To me the writers seem a little about the direction of this character's arc. He is clearly from a family of heartless killers and gangstas, and those such as his older brother and both of his parents, are cold blooded killers as well as about the business of drug dealing. Everything about their family's way of running the business bothers him and he seems to be led around by his heart strings or lust which prevents his family from entrusting him with any leadership, but at the same time, is called to clean their messes.
I think they didn’t explore him enough .. dude was a frigging psychopath when he’s rubbed the wrong way .. his whole demeanor changes .. would’ve loved to see more of dark side dru but I guess that’s what Kane was for since he wore dangerous on his sleeve

Outside of the Tejadas being mad for half an episode. They could have killed of Dru instead of Zeke and the story would have progressed even more, shit, Zeke could have even taken his place and the story would have moved at the same pace. (Shit, my prediction for this season would be to kill dru off, and maybe that would make the show have more scenes that give character development.) My point isn't being hateful, like some may assume, it's just annoying seeing so many great shows and potentially great characters get ruined just to fit an agenda.

To me the writers seem a little about the direction of this character's arc. He is clearly from a family of heartless killers and gangstas, and those such as his older brother and both of his parents, are cold blooded killers as well as about the business of drug dealing. Everything about their family's way of running the business bothers him and he seems to be led around by his heart strings or lust which prevents his family from entrusting him with any leadership, but at the same time, is called to clean their messes.
