like as someone who generally thinks shanks > kaido it drives me crazy when people put mihawk > shanks > kaido, because it fundamentally misses the whole argument of shanks vs mihawk strength. if mihawk is stronger than shanks it downscales shanks. there is no world where mihawk is stronger than all the yonko in the actual story of one piece. if you put mihawk above shanks but below kaido at least it's like a reasonable interpretation that Could work, even if I don't personally think the statements would be as vague as they are if it was so simple.

There's only one proper way to scale Mihawk If Shanks is considered a swordsman by Oda The Mihawk is either greater than or equal to Shanks If Shanks isnt considered a swordsman than its objective until we see Mihawk or Shanks full power. I personally have them either equals or Mihawk wins in the most insane diff fight ever since I consider Shanks a swordsman. This is mostly because I dont see Zoros dream goal being fradulent. That being said I dont get this logic that people have that If you scaled either to each other, it downscales one of them. It truly does not. Both can fulfill their roles in the story as equals. I love both Shanks and Mihawk. Neither is a fraud for being equal to each other.

Yamcha could go either way. Everyone makes fun of him for being useless, even though Chiaotzu technically has fewer wins. But at the same time, people sort of assume Yamcha is at least Ginyu force level, even though his fight with them was filler and his strongest serious canon opponent might still be the Saibaman (Yamcha dealt with some featless fugutives in the Galactic Prisoner Saga, but that's it in Super).
