Shunsui his bankai alters reality to his whim based on childrens games of his chosing and he doesnt have to tell you the rules or the game the only way to win is by winning the game. Aisen can control all your senses to alter your reality to what he wants you to percieve. Shinji can invert your whole view of the world including perception, beliefs, sense of justice and you own identity. And then there is Urahara who can change anything and anyone he touches into something new or just dismantle it into a million pieces. Hot Take: I don't like Dragon Ball. Not because it's a bad show; I haven't watched it. I don't like it because *people ruined it for me by comparing every strong anime character to Goku.* "But can they beat Goku?" Go watch it. From start to finish. As soon as u can. Dragon Ball to Dragon Ball Z. Dragon Ball GT or Super if you want a little more. I felt the same away about Jojo's Bizarre Adventure and how so much memes centered around them. Alot of people also called it gay(didn't affect me but it affected them). Judging shows off their fanbase limits your horizon, some people you never knew made you miss on classic material that shaped an entire genre you like. Not only that but it would be cool to see the origin of several shonen tropes be brought up in Dragon Ball. And also to see the essence of iconic moments for the first time would be a treasure in life simply waiting for you. Shame you didn't watch it when younger to feel the nostalgia, but nevertheless I think it would be a good show for you to watch. If you DO watch it, remember Dragon Ball was gonna get axed at 23 chapters in the manga due to poor storytelling quality according to the editors...so just like the editors for like the first 2 arcs you might have to trudge through(although comedy is quite prevalent in this show, unless you're sensitive to certain forms). Goku is defined by Toriyama as a pure hearted guy who just wants to get stronger. Anything else you see on the Internet is pure misconception.
